This was such a great treat especially now that the weather has gotten hotter! For this Yelp Elite Week event, Elites plus their guest got to try a couple of scoop of ice cream from Salt and Straw. The check-in was easy and smooth and when we went on the last day at 3pm, there was no line. After trying many samples, I ordered a Jasmine Milk Tea with Almond and a Double Vanilla scoop on a cone. This was so good! They were both very creamy and not too overpoweringly sweet. My friend got the Jasmine and Rhubarb Crumble with Toasted Anise on a cone. She said they were both delicious. I always find the flavors at Salt and Straw to be so interesting and unique. And the staff at the UWS location are very welcoming and generous with the samples, which I really appreciate. Thank you to everyone at Salt and Straw and Yelp Elite for this wonderful event!

One of my favorite ice cream spots in the city because of the seasonal monthly flavors. This time around, it was the May Flowers series and we tried to taste test all of them. The Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella / Strawberry Tres Leches were my favorites however I'd highly recommend trying any and all the flavors since they don't seem to judge or mind someone who does this. I love Salt & Straw so Yelp Elite event or not, we try to stop by for their monthly series because it keeps us on our toes.

Salt & Straw is an Ice Cream Shop. The one at this location is on the Upper West Side (UWS) on Amsterdam bet. 76th & 77th St. It is accessible via public transportation which includes the 1,2 & 3 Trains to 72nd St. as well the C Train to the 81st St. Museum of Natural History Station; both require anywhere bet. a 7-12 minute walk to Salt & Straw. Thanks to Yelp Manhattan Community Manager Katey G. & to Salt & Straw. This is my 1st time at Salt & Straw & it was nice experience. Upon arrival, there was a line. However, it was short & went rather quickly. Salt & Straw UWS is a quaint ice cream shop. There are Classic Flavors, Limited Edition & Last Chance Ice Cream Flavors. Mikalia is such a sweetheart & provided great customer service. I tried the following: Classic Flavors -Sea Salt w/ Caramel Ribbons, Double Fold Vanilla, Salted & Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Honey Lavender, Strawberry Honey Balsamic w/ Black Pepper, Pistachio & Ricotta Cannoli, Arbequina Olive Oil, & Hazelnut Cookies & Cream. Limited Edition Flavors - Strawberry Tres Leches. Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella, Rhubarb Crumble w / Toasted Anise, & Saffron Milk & Wildflower Honey. Last Chance Scoop Flavor - Fran's Chocolate Almond Gold Bar. After sampling flavots, I chose Limited Edition Flavors Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella & Strawberry Tres Leches on their signature waffle cone. Mikalia made me a good ice cream cone & I took my time eating every bit of it....Thanks Salt & Straw! Inside of the establishment is a freezer w/ ice cream pints as well as merch for purchase. Merch includes Ice Cream Scoopers, hats, their Ice Cream Cookbook, "Whiffle of Waffle" Cone Candle, Olive Oil, Sea Salt, Enamel Pin Sets, Salty Classic Caramels, Ice Cream Canteens, , etc. Salt & Straw UWS has a few indoor wooden counter areas where customers can stand or a few outside benches where individuals can sit & enjoy their ice cream. saltandstraw.com @saltandstraw Salt & Straw UWS is open daily 11am - Midnight.

First time having Salt & Straw ice cream. Thanks to Katey, Yelp and Salt & Straw, from me and my husband! Mentioned I was on the list and we were offered tastings. Not an overwhelming amount of flavors but theirs is not typical. Got a taste each only then we were ready. Was glad split-flavors were allowed so I got the limited edition flavors: Rhubarb crumble with toasted anise and Jasmine milk tea almond stracciatella - did like the Jasmine. I would get their Hazelnut cookies and cream again - am not usually into C and C but theirs is different, nutty. Each staff member focused on a group of customers until the order is done. Grateful to the friendly employee who helped us, for the generous scoops in the waffle cones (not too sweet for me, light and crispy). Will definitely return.

First off thank you to Yelp, Katey and Salt & Straw. Love this place! What a cute little ice cream shop in the city. The flavors are just so unique and different ... I love anything lavender but I settled for a vanilla cup for my baby and a strawberry tres leches to share with my mom. The place as packed on arrival and the staff was so sweet. You got to try the flavors before picking one. Definitely coming back for their flavor of the month in June and to try their Honey Lavendar. Thank you!

Very rarely am I able to find delicious dairy free ice cream. Sherbets are fine but I want to enjoy a creamy treat in a cone. What I happily found is my new favorite ice cream spot. I stopped in at around 7pm and there was already a line forming. I was happy to see some dairy free options but I would have loved to order the strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper or the double vanilla. I settled on the freckled mint chocolate chip (v) without trying it first. At an ice cream parlor you're either the patron that's afraid of commitment, asking for samples of everything thrice...or you're the first card in a tarot deck, upright. I would absolutely come back to indulge in a cold creamy treat and I'm going to absolutely recommend it to anyone that hasn't been! Cheers.

A grade service A grade taste This is my second time visiting salt and straw courtesy of YELP. The smell when you enter the shop is truly amazing. The service the warm greeting upon entry is what makes it the best. The unlimited flavors you can sample. The uniqueness of the flavors are amazing. I got the chocalate gooey brownie and it lives up to its name. So good. My plus 1 was my mother and she enjoyed her cone as well. Tons of things to do in the area food to eat and lots of public transportation nearby. Thank you Yelp CM and Salt and Straw

I tried to attend the Salt & Straw Yelp events in the past but didn't make it past the waitlist until now. I've been following Salt & Straw on IG before they opened in NYC. Love their stories and great reputation. They have a wonderful corner location on the UWS, with line stanchions outside in preparation for their busiest hours. Arrived around 3:20pm Thursday afternoon... lucked out with the timing, there were only 2 people ahead of me and one employee handling sample tastings/orders/payment. I was happy to have a few minutes before it was my turn to study all the fab flavor options. My turn... I was so excited that they generously encourage you to try as many flavors as you want ("ONLY" tried about 6, and possibly would have done more?!? LOL)... chocolate babka with hazelnut fudge, coffee & love nuts, pistachio & ricotta cannoli, salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough, strawberry balsamic with black pepper. Decision time (tough choice, I loved them all): single, split scoop, chocolate babka, coffee & love nuts. Huge shout out to David who was a big factor in making this a 5 star experience!! I received such a friendly welcome from him when it was my turn, and that was before I told him it was my first Salt & Straw visit and that I was part of the Yelp Elite event. Love his energy, kindness and flawless explanation of each flavor. He shared one of his favorites with me, Coffee & Love Nuts and I totally agree with him (I could also eat a bag of those Love Nuts). I ate my cup of ice cream in the store and listened to him with the line of customers that began pouring in after me (same level of friendliness and service). Don't forget to tip the employees at these events! Thank you Salt & Straw, Katey and the Yelp team for this wonderful opportunity... no surprise, I'm a new fan and cannot wait to come back. Definitely a strong contender in the NYC ice cream market... unique and wonderful in their own way. Price would have been $7.25, plus $.50 for split scoop, plus tax.

This place was so nice . We got in and the staff was very friendly and let us try a few flavors. I really enjoyed the honey lavender flavor while my husband got the strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper. The lavender was nice and creamy. Every time i had the strawberry balsamic it was very tart but fun thought i couldnt eat it consistently. The place got packed so we know it was popular. We got the rhubarb pint to go and cant wait to dig into it.

I was so excited to get invited to Salt & Straw, so I went the first day. It was my first time so I didn't know what to expect. Service was great. The staff let me try multiple flavors and it was big portion in a silver spoon too. I ended up getting the Chocolate gooey brownie and malted chocolate chip cookie dough. Both were really good. I will definitely come back another time. Thanks Yelp and Salt & Straw for the invite.

I went on the first day of the Elite Week :D I couldn't convince anyone to take a work break with me, but it's okay. I'm usually shy when it comes to trying samples, but the staff here were so friendly and encouraged me to try several of their favorite flavors. It also helped being the only one in the store at that time, so I got to try 5 flavors! It's also nice they use metal spoons for sampling rather than disposables. I ended up going with the "monthly menu series" Strawberry Tres Leches. It was just so good - sweet and strong on the strawberry flavor with hints of tres leches bits in between. The Jasmine milk tea almond stracciatella was also really good. More aromatic given the jasmine and had more subtle flavor. The store was nice and roomy; there were also pints of the classics and monthly menu series available for purchase. Thanks Salt & Straw team and Yelp NYC! :)

My +1 and I went after work on Thursday to experience this fun event. Thank you Katey/Yelp Elite with Salt & Straw and Team for allowing to try all the inventive flavors. Normally I would try 2 flavors and decide between the 2 since I didn't want to seem greedy. Here, the employee helping us asked if there were any flavors we wanted to try and was patiently waiting for us to decide. This is what we tried: Monthly Menu Series/Limited Edition - Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella - Strawberry Tres Leches: was a bit sweet for me. - Rhubarb Crumble with Toasted Anise: the flavor wasn't for me. - Saffron Milk with Wildflower Honey: was strong. - Coffee Chamomile Sherbet: if you like coffee, this is definitely for you. Classic Flavors: - Arbequina Olive Oil: wasn't bad - Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper: I thought this was an interesting combination but it was surprisingly too sweet for me. The steel spoon disposal is a hole on the side of the wall. This keeps the counter clear and more accessible for employees. Decided on Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella and Honey Lavender in a cone. It was a delicious end to a beautiful day.

Thank you Katey and the Yelp team for another opportunity to venture in the Upper West Side for some ice cream. I heard great things about this company ans I was excited to taste the ice cream. I visited their website and I was in awe of the unique flavors that I want to try everything. Staff was great and I got to taste the flavors I wanted, but I got it down to two one of me and the other for the hubby or the child lol to go. I got the seasonal flavor of saffron and Wild honey, which was something I have never had on a cone and I enjoyed it very much without making a mess. I got a scoop of the pistachio, ricotta and canoli ice cream. This flavor used a pork gelatin as a binder. This to-go ice cream melted during the travel home so it's in the freezer getting solidified so it can be consumed. I'd definitely go back to purchase a pint of the ice cream. In addition they have a tasting flight of 4 flavors of your choice and that would be amazing.

Saturday Brunch-In in Throggs Neck!…read more Lena Trattoria has been in the "Neck" for two years and they have made their mark. As they continue to respond to customers' feedback they are introducing a new Luxe Brunch menu and we were granted the opportunity to check it out. On a warm Saturday afternoon we arrived and were greeted by Shah. With our plus 1's we were checked-in and then grabbed seats. As we perused the new brunch menu we also had the opportunity to take in the design of the place. Very fresh and aesthetically pleasing with a modern design. Lena, gives an open yet intimate vibe. They have the perfect back drop for a group or date night. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful as we all made our selection for the 3 courses. While there is ample to choose from, a couple of observations, there wasn't many protein options especially for people like me whom do not eat red meat or pork. As well as there were no side items listed even for an a-la-carte charge. However, I'm sure you can order additional items. The service was great even when they fell a little behind. The entertainment was amazingly perfect, a saxophonist who did his damn thing! The food was good a the drinks were flowing. Personally, I would have liked more continuity between all three courses. If you don't pick wisely you will end up with a carb-heavy meal. Without realizing it serval dishes have bread. Which is not bad, I love me some bread, but by the end it was too much. Again it's because I should have paid closer attention to my selections. I selected the lobster roll to start, fresh and nice flavor, however filling to bread ratio was not balanced. This could have just been an oversight because of the size of our event. I went with the french toast for my main course and it was perfect. While it was available, no syrup was needed. Again with no side options for a protein, they were nice enough to allow me to order grilled chicken breast. Sounds like a weird combo, but with limited options available for me, it went well. The chicken was flavorful, nicely seasoned and surprisingly very tender and juicy. Lastly for dessert I opted for the bread pudding (again my fault... too much bread). It was tasty but capacity had been reached, so I only had a nibble. Brunch @ Lena's was a lovely treat and an amazing sit down event. Thank you to the oh so fab Shah! To the manger, staff, and owners of Lena Trattoria for both their hospitality and generosity. Just A Note: Lena Trattoria gives you the vibe of a restaurant in city without the congestion pricing. Go check them out!

The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, and the staff were amazingly friendly, attentive, and genuinely excited about the new offerings. There was a variety on the menu, with something for almost everyone to enjoy. The space itself is beautiful and inviting, being perfect for a relaxed weekend brunch. It has that cozy-yet-upscale feel that makes you want to linger a little longer over your coffee. The only downside was that there weren't many substitutions available for those who don't eat pork, which was a bit of a letdown. We mentioned it to the manager, and they were kind enough to make other provisions for us, but it would've been nice if those options were already available. A few items didn't include any protein, and there wasn't an option to add sides, which would've been a great touch. The drinks were fantastic because they were fresh, flavorful, and regularly refilled. And Absolutely awesome live music! It created such a fun, lively atmosphere that had everyone smiling and even dancing a little. I've enjoyed dinner here several times, but now I'm so happy to have them as a go-to brunch spot too!

Being that this was our 2nd time here, we were much more familiar with their offerings, which mostly revolve around Asian-themed flavored ice cream. Although the elite experience did not come with complimentary ice cream, we still came primarily for that because it was so good last year. For this elite experience though, we were offered a complimentary double lemon float (lemonade with lemon sorbet) + a BOGO Açaí bowl. Since we were really hear to satisfy our ice cream craving, we ended up skipping the BOGO Acai bowl, but instead got the complimentary double lemon float and ordered a caramel crunch + strawberry cheesecake ice cream cup. The lemon float was very refreshing and a great pick me up on a summer day. As for the ice cream, it's ice cream, need i say more? OK, I will. I loved the strawberry cheesecake ice cream. When I walked in, I was greeted by two employees. They were super informative about the menu and so much fun to talk to! The Yelp Experience allowed me to get a BOGO Acai bowl and double lemon floats. For the BOGO deal, you have to choose the same kind of acai bowl for both. I chose the Nutella Acai (~$12) which came with blueberry, granola, strawberry, banana, coconut flakes, and nutella drizzle. While I waited for them to prepare everything, I browsed through the store. The interior is super colorful and bright. They have a small section selling merchandise and Asian snacks as well as a freezer filled with pints of their homemade ice cream. I ended up getting my bowls and floats to go and they packaged everything perfectly and safely. I LOVED the double lemon float! Very sweet, tarty, and refreshing on a hot summer day. I gave the acai bowls to my parents and they both really enjoyed it. I had a few bites and the fruits were fresh. The granola really made the flavors and textures better. I would come back here to try their specialty: bubbles waffles! They also have a lot of unique ice cream flavors, including Asian-inspired ones, that I really want to try.

These three items where under $30 all together, and was grateful to get to be a part of this YEE experience! Shoutout to the Brooklyn Yelp Team! The chicken spring roll was bouncy, and the chicken inside looked like a chicken wing; very visually satisfying. The peanut dipping sauce was very flavorful and deep in umami. A great addition to the meal; highly recommend! I couldn't get over how packed my beef brisket pho was! I've been to some places that have way more broth than the noodles ratio, and this place made it 1:1. It was such a comforting bowl to have on such a damp fall day; really happy with the depth of the broth. How could vegan beef broth be so good?!?! What else blew me away was my coworker's vegan chicken in his pho. It tasted EXACTLY like chicken! Great texture and plenty of meat in every noodley bite! The Vietnamese cold coffee was also a very pleasant first time surprise! I've never had it before, and loved how refreshing, light, and sweet it was! It really would be lovely to have on a super hot and humid day, that's for sure. Great depth of flavor in the coffee itself with Lucy's adorable packaging. Come for the vibes; come for the pho; come for the love of Lucy's!

The food was packaged securely in their own reusable bags and fully maintained their quality! The shrimp spring roll was big and delicious, and the pho was some of the most comforting I've had in a while. You get a really big portion that is very much worth what you pay, not to mention the smoked brisket is so TENDER, you'll fall in love. I also saved my Vietnamese Coffee (comes bottled as shown) for the next morning and it was SO TASTY. Not overly sweet but still very addicting. Revived my morning. Between the tea or the coffee- go for the coffee. 10/10 experience, I'm excited now to try all the variations on their menu!

This was definitely a unique event in and of itself since the last time it occurred was apparently over two years ago and that it featured actual content from reviewers for restaurants all throughout the lower east side! The event itself was unique in a lot of ways! Hosted within a small gallery space in the LES, it featured both pictures and snippets from reviews related to restaurants in the neighborhood. After hearing presentations from some members of the corporate team it was clear that the event was organized to promote restaurants in the area, as well as Yelp's reservation platform. What was really awesome is that Yelp also donated $250 for every restaurant that had a representative show up to City Harvest, which is New York City's largest food rescue organization, feeding the more than 1.2 million New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables. They also had a great spread for us to enjoy! Chicken skewers, a diverse cheese platter, and marinated beef made for some savory snacks. They also had a selections of beverages for people to enjoy while browsing throughout the space. Overall a really unique and interesting event! I'll be excited to see if they try this out for different neighborhoods, but until then thanks Ruggy and staff for another memorable Yelp event!

I came here around noon and the place haven't been filled up yet but that was truly toward my benefit as my waiter, Jeff was extra attentive (yay me!). He offered me both brunch and regular menu and was very friendly and eager to assist me if I needed it. After making all my choices, he complimented and said I made good choices and whether if that was true or not, it made me felt happy. Lol. All of the food portion were huge. I ordered their wings as my appetizer, shrimp/bacon taco for entrée and tres leche for dessert. With that they also offered me some fresh fried taco with homemade salsa that was really delicious and made me wanting more even though I had to pace myself. Presentation wise, it was all instagramable. They restaurant is very conscious about presentation so that was a huge plus. As for taste, it was all good. I especially enjoy my shrimp/bacon taco as it was huge and those trio-side sauce (hot sauce, green sauce and pumpkin sauce) was just outright slamming. As for portion it was larger then life, especially for one person. Honestly I think it could feed two people as I ended up taking half of it home. Overall, I enjoyed myself, felt really relaxed, enjoyed their playlist and especially my waiter, Jeff that help tied my experience with Tiny Cantina in nicely. Thank you again to our CM, Morlene, Jeff, my waiter and Tiny Cantina for this special treat!!

The only gripe I had was seasoning. It lacked flavor which is huge in Latin food. A bit bland. But the service was great. Our server was so nice. We got the highly instagramable pizza. It was lovely and very filling but couldn't done with a feels radishes. If you love radishes, get the pizza. The drinks were refreshing and tasty. Definitely recommend checking it out. My Yelp fren had the diablo shrimp which was spicy. The check-in and pickup was so smooth. It was a hard choice, but I ended up with the Beef Tapa and Fried Lumpia for the comp meal. And after perusing the menu, I also ordered the Sliders and Pork Skewers. The food smelled so good that I ended up scarfing down one of the Lumpia on my walk to the subway. The Lumpia was easily my favorite out of the items I took home. They come 6 pieces per order and were massive, easily double the size of normal Lumpia. The Beef Tapa came with rice, fried egg and slices of tomatoes and cucumbers. The meat was flavorful, and this was a hearty dish. The items I paid for were also quite good. The sliders came two per order in the bright purple Ube buns. So very tasty. The Pork Skewers were great and paired well with the vinegar dipping sauce. I honestly think that I prefer this location over their Broome St location. The food just tasted better. I noticed that previous reviews for this Experience mentioned that they were given Yelp bags with their order. Unfortunately, I didn't get one. I went on the last day of the Experience so I think they must have run out. Nevertheless, I'm so grateful to have gotten this delicious meal. Thank you so much Kalye for your generosity.
