Cocktail Options that I had Tried

A very chill + well-informative event that we got to meet other Yelpers/Yelp Elites/Canva Creators at the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg as the venue. Such a huge and spacious area with the indoor patio where interactive moments at different stations and the open bar were taken place. You could tell that the Canva hosts and staff took a long time to set up this event for it to be well organized and planned out. All the staff members were so friendly and attentive. Learned something new from the presentation demos. Didn't know that Canva can be used to edit video clips + insert voiceovers, add graphics/animations, and just so much more. Always thought Canva is mainly used for 2D creation projects like the templates in powerpoints, resumes, and media kits. Everyone got a $30 credit gift code to create your own image on merch like tees or totes which I thought was very thoughtful and unique. The Canva hosts engaged with the audience by making the demos interactive. The presentation lasted about 30-45 mins, the remaining time was used for mingling with others, bites and drinks, fun activities, and completing the bingo card for a blue raffle ticket. There were a variety of stations. You could learn about the different Canva staff and get a few cute stickers. Next, customize a squirrel stress toy with flower and/star stickers. Then, write a simple, friendly message on a greeting card. Pick up some Canva merch (blue plastic sunglasses + stickers + black canvas tote bags) as keepsakes by the swag section. Make sure to stop by the selfie booth for your own caricature cartoon transformation portrait printout. There was also a digital pic booth where you came up with three poses then a QR code to scan to save your photo. Last but not least, there was a cookie printing station where you could use Canva AI to design/create your own images like capybaras or my favorite Totoro. All the cocktails were delicious from the open bar section. My favorite sip was the Drag & Drop. Waiters and waitresses kept bringing out unlimited hors d'oeuvre, the food had never stopped until the very end. There were falafel cubes + mini fish tacos + chicken salad on mini sliced toast + tempura rice rolls + fried pork belly pieces. Additionally, there were my favorite brisket poutine with parsley + mini vegan yakitori (tofu, shishito peppers, white rice) bowls + and other delicious single-size bites. As for desserts, bite-sized cream brûlée tarts and moist brownie rectangles got served on silver trays. Stuffed myself to the brim.after bites from here and there. Overall, it was a fun + interactive + calm + informative experience. Hope to see more future Canva events in NYC. Thank you to Canva Staff + Yelp + Morlene + Wythe Hotel Staff for arranging and hosting the amazing event together!!!

This was quite a unique event as it brought Yelp Elites with other Canva enthusiasts. There was a lovely presentation showing us all the new capabilities of Canva in the past year including freebies. As someone who started using Canva a lot this past year for my wedding, it was so information to learn of all the "magical" AI capabilities that Canva has. In the next room was a DJ spinning, drinks pouring, hors d'oeuvres served, and multiple stations with fun activities. The highlights were a robot drawn caricature and custom cookies. I also have to point out how efficiently and friendly the bartenders were. Such a fun and unique event connecting with others. It was a surprise to meet others who were not Yelpers too.

This was the coolest event! I loved how the Canva team showed real enthusiasm for their product. They were committed to getting the community involved and invested into the newest features. The interactive stations were such a cool touch. The food and drinks were top notch! Can't wait for the next one!

The Canva event was fantastic and the venue was absolutely gorgeous. The team did a great job showcasing their newest technology and features in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. I especially enjoyed the live demonstrations which highlighted different use cases and really expanded my knowledge of the platform and its services. The cookie station was a fun and the open bar was very generous. The food and hors d'oeuvres were delicious and the venue provided a great atmosphere for mingling. Overall, it was a well-organized event and I had a wonderful time.

A lovely evening of artsy activations and learnings. They kindly offered trials and tutorials on how to make the most of their services. Can't wait to dive in and try out the new features. Nice food and had nice chats ! The bartenders were so personable. Almost forgot, hosting it at the Wythe was so cute. Thanks for having me

This was such a great event. I have used Canva before but I definitely didn't realize the amount of new features available! The presentation was so informative. All of the activations a futures was such a nice touch, the drinks, bites and promo products were lots of fun, Thanks so much for this one!

The Canva Community Connect team sure knows how to host a great event! The event was held in the gorgeous courtyard of the Wythe hotel. There were various, fun activities throughout the space, my favs were the customized portrait by an AI robot, the personalized greeting cards for seniors and the delicious customized cookies. We all gathered inside for a short presentation and I was pretty impressed with all of the new AI features available on Canva Pro. We all continued to mingle after the presentation while delicious bites and drinks were passed around. At the end of the night we all took a group photo outside of the hotel in front of a very cool Canva mural. I had a blast at the event, thank you to Morlene for putting it together. I am looking forward to the next Canva Community Connect event!

Wow this event was over the top! Did not expect the grandiosity of which Canva presented. Tables and tables of swag and activities. Lots of customizable stations! My favorite was the cookie making one, you were able to take a photo and have it printed onto a cookie! The Canva lessons were also helpful cannot wait to use Canva magic! The bites were good too.. the brisket and falafel were my fave. All of the Canva participating staff were super friendly! Overall amazing social night! Thanks Morlene!

Dare I say this might be in the running to be one of my favorite Yelp related events this year ? I will tell you why I am thinking about it. I am familiar with Canva and have used it in various ways. But being able to learn a lot more on how I could increase my usage and what tools are available (especially with Magic) was so wonderful. The speakers they had were wonderful as they are not just people from Canva but people who use it so much to make things happen creatively and wanted to help others learn. And their presentations were so fun (the play on words on Taj Mahal). The challenge at the end was fun and was a great way of emphasizing what we learned but showcasing ways we could use it. I wanted to print custom cookies with my friends' face on it. It was fun to get a sketch done on myself using AI (accuracy is your mileage may vary). The scavenger hunt was a great way to talk with other attendees but also the presenters and people at Canva. I didn't win this time but it was fun. Another plus was the food and drinks. I have been to the Wythe Hotel as a volunteer for an event but their food options were great (that steak Au Poivre was A+) and I wish I had more of those brownies. The drinks we had were greatly created and they were able to accommodate fixes (less alcohol in a mixed drink) Thanks to the Canva team, the presenters, the team at Wythe Hotel, Morlene and the rest of the Yelp team for the invite.

    Kaz G.

I had the best time at the event! I learned how to use new canva tools, connected with creators and interacted with all of the stations. There was so much for us to do: decorate a squirrel, get a drawing done, get a customized cookie, food, drinks and more. This event was well organized and so much fun! The DJ was also great!

My first Canva event and did they DO IT! First venue... Wythe hotel is luxe meets practical in every sense. Amazing indoor/outdoor space with the tech needed for presentation and the style needed for an event space. Wythe hotel staff... every bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and encouraged full use of the space and took their time crafting the signature cocktails. And yes... I had EVERY bartender create a cocktail for me! (Men at the back bar by the cookie station took the cake!) Cocktails were a hit for me! I stayed with what was known as a "drag and drop"(apparently renamed for the event but standard at the wythe hotel).., this consisted of bourbon, elderflower liqueur and angostura bitters, twist of orange for a different take on an old fashioned. As a Tequila drinker.. I was definitely out of my element, but encouraged to experiment and I think I now have a new drink fave!!!! Delicious!!!! Food... small bites that delivered large vibes.... Between the pork belly and fried tofu (vegetarian yakitori) I don't know which one I preferred... plentiful passed bites that delivered on flavor and presentation. The most fabulous beautiful DJ, professional and talented... SWAG... Canva I LOVED the interactive stations.. the robot drawing and cookie printing were my favorites.... Never had my face on a cookie, but I must say... I make those cookies look FAB!!!! Watching the robot drawing me after taking my picture was a nostalgic experience reminiscent of caricature drawings as a child. The tote bags were top quality and highly recommended for branding as the quality was some of the best of seen. Squirrels everywhere... very New York.. Canva staff was friendly and knowledgeable sharing tips and tricks along the way and I loved haves people with so much hands on knowledge available. The workshop... the actual REASON we were there.... Informative and playfully presented... program flew by which meant they never lost my interest! Learning about the AI Capabilities and sound additives was new to me and I left with an excitement to explore my use of Canva with a newfound appreciation. Having used Canva many times but for simple projects... excited to try to explore larger ideas. And to make this event even better, instead of pribting tshirt swag that we probably wouldn't wear more than once, they provided a code for credit to allow us to make our own T! This was a great idea and way to push us to explore the printed projects... I was blown away by the attention to detail and Canvas open invitation to their members offering a free workshop and lively experience. To make it even better... I won the raffle!!! 100$ print credit!!! Canva really made me feel special as a consumer, customer and creator! Amazing event ! 10 stars if I could!

This is super fun event! not only it's at a beautiful and spacious venue of whythe hotel, but also the idea of anybody can convey their "thing" into something that can be shared by the world. the selections of drinks were fantastic, wide range of selection spirits suit everyone's tastes, bar tenders were quick and on point!! I had bourbon based vodka based drinks and they were both superb, the stations were really creative from portraits of laser prints to cook prints, and it came alot faster than I thought! definitely surprised by them. although i've never heard of canva, but will definitely check it out now esp if i have some nutty ideas boiling in my head! Thank you Morelene for organizing this wonderful event!

Although try as hard as he might, he didn't get the Elite treatment since he's not even close to my level; I said this could be you one day! Walked right up to the counter and placed our orders with minimal issues in deciding what to go for. I opted to claim my chicken spring roll, a smoked beef brisket pho, and a Vietnamese cold coffee to stay. These three items where under $30 all together, and was grateful to get to be a part of this YEE experience! Shoutout to the Brooklyn Yelp Team! The chicken spring roll was bouncy, and the chicken inside looked like a chicken wing; very visually satisfying. The peanut dipping sauce was very flavorful and deep in umami. A great addition to the meal; highly recommend! I couldn't get over how packed my beef brisket pho was! I've been to some places that have way more broth than the noodles ratio, and this place made it 1:1. It was such a comforting bowl to have on such a damp fall day; really happy with the depth of the broth. How could vegan beef broth be so good?!?! What else blew me away was my coworker's vegan chicken in his pho. It tasted EXACTLY like chicken! Great texture and plenty of meat in every noodley bite! The Vietnamese cold coffee was also a very pleasant first time surprise! I've never had it before, and loved how refreshing, light, and sweet it was! It really would be lovely to have on a super hot and humid day, that's for sure. Great depth of flavor in the coffee itself with Lucy's adorable packaging. Come for the vibes; come for the pho; come for the love of Lucy's!

The food was packaged securely in their own reusable bags and fully maintained their quality! The shrimp spring roll was big and delicious, and the pho was some of the most comforting I've had in a while. You get a really big portion that is very much worth what you pay, not to mention the smoked brisket is so TENDER, you'll fall in love. I also saved my Vietnamese Coffee (comes bottled as shown) for the next morning and it was SO TASTY. Not overly sweet but still very addicting. Revived my morning. Between the tea or the coffee- go for the coffee. 10/10 experience, I'm excited now to try all the variations on their menu!

I came here around noon and the place haven't been filled up yet but that was truly toward my benefit as my waiter, Jeff was extra attentive (yay me!). He offered me both brunch and regular menu and was very friendly and eager to assist me if I needed it. After making all my choices, he complimented and said I made good choices and whether if that was true or not, it made me felt happy. Lol. All of the food portion were huge. I ordered their wings as my appetizer, shrimp/bacon taco for entrée and tres leche for dessert. With that they also offered me some fresh fried taco with homemade salsa that was really delicious and made me wanting more even though I had to pace myself. Presentation wise, it was all instagramable. They restaurant is very conscious about presentation so that was a huge plus. As for taste, it was all good. I especially enjoy my shrimp/bacon taco as it was huge and those trio-side sauce (hot sauce, green sauce and pumpkin sauce) was just outright slamming. As for portion it was larger then life, especially for one person. Honestly I think it could feed two people as I ended up taking half of it home. Overall, I enjoyed myself, felt really relaxed, enjoyed their playlist and especially my waiter, Jeff that help tied my experience with Tiny Cantina in nicely. For the burger, I ordered the fatty patty with the spicy 60/40 patty, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, and all the peppers with the nacy sauce. As the side, I had wanted messy tots but they didn't have that so I went with the spicy thotty tots with the spicy impossible and was not disappointed. I got the cheese sauce on the side as I didn't want it getting soggy on the way home. The portion was pretty big for the sides. I took a bite of each there to try it fresh and took the rest home and this fed me and my partner for dinner as I made a burrito with the spicy thotty tots side with some added some lettuce. Between the 60/40 patty and the spicy impossible patties, I enjoyed the spicy impossible more as I have always like the impossible burgers more than beyond. My friend ordered the spicy impossible burger with the sauce with honey and that came out amazing because the honey helped char the patty the perfection. Everything was tasty from the burgers to the sides and me and my friend love spicy so the seasoning to all the menu items were great in our opinion (wasn't that spicy to us but a good savory). The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the cheese sauce for the spicy thotty tots as it was very runny. I will be back to grab some takeout when I'm in the area.

After hearing presentations from some members of the corporate team it was clear that the event was organized to promote restaurants in the area, as well as Yelp's reservation platform. I enjoyed the Coco Loso drink and Margaritas thoroughly. More than anything, the beef skewers and chicken Tostones were flavorful. This event was so great to the point where I decided to come back here on my own to experience this wonderful establishment again.

And special thanks to Blend for inviting us to celebrate Latinx heritage month. It was quite difficult for me to get here but after I reached this place I got excited. I was the first one & didn't realize there was a sign on the door stating to use the other entrance lol..! I am so thankful for a kind soul like her. If there was another Yelper didn't see me & asked me I would be waiting there until I have realized something was wrong, silly ME..! So we finally went inside & I was in love with the decor. Felt like staying there for ever & make some Tiktok.. haha! The checking in process was fast & on point. The restaurant is pretty big & nicely organized. So it didn't felt like too crowded while being there. DJ was playing great music, the staff were good & very helpful. Altho I can't eat any meat products there but they had enough options for me to actually eat some food. And I so appreciate the effort. I tried the sushi, corn , shrimp. I was also able to get a mock tail to try & it was good. I wish I could stay longer but I have a long commute to go back to the island & also have work early in the morning. But I was able to have extra fun taking some fun pictures ! Thank you Julie & the staff for taking them. I wanna thank Yelp, Blend for this amazing event. The food was excellent, had a great time. Btw, I did make two new friends, so that was a plus.

There were prices for different items displayed in more than one spot, and not on just one menu. I decided to just order off the top of my head since I couldn't figure it out. In addition to the Hood Healer and Lentil soup I received, as a Yelp Elite, I ordered some tea. The place reminded me of the type of spot that is local, and ancestral, and kind of like -- just ask and see what is available. It gives a small town feel, in a sense. There are books for sale, which was delightful and the books seemed to be titles of varying genres, all fairly priced. The service was excellent, quick and efficient. And very helpful and very friendly. Now that I think of it, the spot could have been a cafe in Diagon Alley (IYKYK). But on the good side of things. I couldn't see inside of the small window from where I ordered my food, but I'm pretty sure there was some sort of magic going on back there based on how tasty the lentil soup was, in addition to the Hood Healer, which after taking one sip, I said, "mmm" out loud. Both the soup and drink were excellent and perfectly seasoned. I could feel the effort that was put into both items and it felt like it was made on the spot from all natural ingredients. I was very pleasantly surprised.

MiyKey, Chui, Aiden, and Christos created a welcoming environment sharing the consultation process, how they stencil, and we even got a live demo. They were all friendly, informative, and shared fascinating stories. It was interesting to hear about each of journeys into the industry and their unique artistic process. We also learned about the epic history of the shop while enjoying some Dirty Water Hard Seltzer and Egg Tarts. All around neat experience. Thanks, Katey!

I went to redeem my 7th Street Burger before the event and it was the perfect beginning of the fun night! I was the first person to arrive and was told to wait outside. The event started about 10 minutes late. We were treated with Portuguese egg tarts + dirty water upon arrival. It was a sweet treat and I had never had an egg tart before so it was a nice introduction into trying an egg tart. Upon arrival of the tattooers, we started the event with learning about the history of the tattoo shop and the people involved in making the shop what it is today. It was definitely interesting to learn about. All the tattoo artists were super passionate about what they do and it really showed. They were all so nice too. I enjoyed talking to them and mingling with fellow Yelpers. Thank you Yelp and Katey, for this fun event!!
