He did an incredible job taking our carefully curated playlist and seamlessly incorporating everything we wanted, while also reading the room perfectly and adjusting the music based on how the crowd was responding. The dance floor was packed all night--to the point that we extended the reception an extra hour because it would have been unfair to stop everyone from having such an amazing time! Our wedding was a blast thanks to Shawn (DJ Mixxed). From our first meeting with him, we knew that he would deliver. My wife and I both love soul music, R&B and hip hop and we get kind of annoyed by super pop-py music. But our wedding was a mixed crowd, with older guests that loved old school soul and younger friends that loved pop and anything that equaled a party. In our first meeting, we provided a long list of songs that described our vibe and Shawn said, "Based on what you'd already told me, I would've played these songs anyway." We talked a few weeks before the wedding to discuss the wedding timeline and he requested that we narrow our list to 5 must-plays and he'd do the rest. On the wedding day he definitely delivered. He played slow jam music for dinner, great as background music. For dancing, he mixed songs together perfectly keeping everyone guessing and excited for what song was next, while also packing in as many songs as possible. He played songs that my wife and I love, that we never even thought to put on our original list. We kept thinking, "How did he know to play that song?" And we weren't the only ones. Shawn catered to everyone's interests without sacrificing the mood we desired for the wedding. The guests stayed on the dance floor the ENTIRE night. He also provided sound and mics for the ceremony and generously coordinated ahead of time with our videographer so that he could record the ceremony sound for our wedding video. Ultimately, I can't say enough about how great Shawn was. Music can be the backbone of your wedding day and he achieved a soulful, comfy and classy dinner mood, followed by an awesome, yet family-friendly party on the dance floor. For any occasion, Shawn listens, cares and can deliver based on your preferences. He takes his work seriously and works hard to provide the soundtrack for your day that fits you. Scott was an absolute pleasure to work with. My guests gave me lots of compliments on my DJ, and we danced so hard that the manager of the venue was legitimately concerned the floor was going to cave through! I chose Elite based on a friend's recommendation and because Scott was willing to drive all the way out to meet me in DC traffic during rush hour, he was reasonably priced, and he was open to playing some Russian music I knew my family would love. I met with other DJs who were not willing to do these things. His online tool is convenient and easy to use. If you are looking for an AMAZING DJ Scott is your man! From the very beginning he was so friendly and easy to work with, I loved how calm and laid back he was from our first meeting (which by the way he drove to us which was NOT close). Our wedding had an interesting mix of people and Scott did a great job making sure there was music for everyone while doing a fantastic job intigrating Haitian music into the mix. First of all, Scott and his EliteMixers services were absolutely fantastic! Worth every penny and MORE! I first found out about Scott's services through a bunch of mutual friend's that are our age (around 30) and used Scott as the DJ for their weddings. They raved about how good his services were and how fun he made their weddings and so we decided that he would be our best option. We figured that nothing is better than a first hand review of someone. So we contracted him and his company for our wedding which was on 6/13/15. Not only did he provide DJ services for us, but he also provided uplighting for our reception venue in our wedding colors. The reception hall with the uplighting looked awesome at night time. As far as his DJ services, he provided the most versatile services I have ever seen. He was a jack of all trades. First, he did the music for our processional and recessional and provided every audio component to cover our entire wedding ceremony. He executed everything flawlessly and the ceremony was beautiful. Then, he moved his entire set up and provided equipment for my wife's brother do perform a live guitar set with vocals during our cocktail hour. Finally, he moved his set up again and was prepared for a night of DJing and dancing in our reception hall. I have never attended a wedding where the dance floor was literally packed for 3 hours straight. People who attended our wedding have commented over and over how much they danced and how fun it was to have everyone on the dance floor from both sides of the family. Scott played the songs that we requested of him to make the older attendees happy, he played the classics, and he catered to the younger crowd as well. He really made everyone so happy and that was reflected in the amount of dancing that occurred. If I have one bit of advice regarding Scott is to just let him do his thing. He knows how to DJ so just give him some songs that you consider "must hears" and leave the rest to him because he feels the crowd and knows how to keep everyone on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG. Just wind him up and let him loose on the DJ booth! Additionally, Scott did something that was very special for my wife and I. He mixed down our first dance song to a perfect 2 minutes and 30 seconds just like we wanted and it could not have been more perfect. His attention to detail was amazing and he truly cared about giving us exactly what we wanted. AND HE DELIVERED. People have been telling us over and over again that our wedding was the best they have ever been to and I honestly attribute a great majority of that to Scott and his services. Finally, Scott was so good about getting back to us very quickly via email and phone. He was so unbelievably professional and even visited our wedding venue (which was really far away) for a walk through prior to our big day. I cannot stress enough how amazing he was and how happy we both were with how everything turned out. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER DJ ANYWHERE! HANDS DOWN THE BEST! I hired Scott for my sister's graduation party/BBQ. Our guests ranged in age from 9 to 71 and he kept everyone happy. DJ Scott has been a DJ for many of our friends' weddings in the past and we were thrilled that he was able to be our DJ for our big day!! DJ Scott was not only friendly, but responsive and gave wonderful advice with the flow of the evening. From start to finish everything was perfect.
