We did the video and DJ option. Initially everything was great. Very prompt and responsive. We had several meetings and the mother of the owner, Valerie, was our contact. Over several meetings she made comments about other people's weddings songs, and how she didn't want to do our wedding but was glad that our wedding included her "favorite songs." She continually alluded to this other wedding of whom we loosely knew who the other people were. It was very annoying. She continually sent us tasks to do that were due by the end of the day with both my bride and me having full time jobs. We were also told by another couple that they "accidentally" received our wedding day itinerary from Valerie. Which was extremely unprofessional. Finally on the day of, her crew were late, and the DJ played songs out of order. I will say that the final product was outstanding and our wedding was fantastic. Tommy, the owner, was great, but Valerie made the experience less than desirable and extremely stressful for a day that is supposed to be exciting. Why it's a 3 star review. read more

We wanted to ensure our guests had a wonderful time at our reception, and we knew the music would play a large role in that. Tommy Gatz Entertainment was absolutely fantastic, and we couldn't be happier that we chose them for our reception! We had some extra challenges in planning our wedding. Not only were we planning the wedding from Alabama, and were only able to come up to Annapolis just one time from the time we got engaged until our wedding weekend, but we also planned the entire wedding in 4 months! It was so nice to know we were in good hands with Valerie and Tommy and had no worries that the music would be great and the reception would flow smoothly. One of the great things about Tommy Gatz Entertainment is you not only get a fantastic DJ but you also have a reception coordinator. Being able to plan out the flow of the reception and knowing we would not have to worry about making sure that things like toasts, the first dance, cake cutting, and the send out would happen when they were supposed to really allowed us to just enjoy the reception and celebrating with our guests. Wow this was a great experience to have Tommy Gatz entertainment take care of the lighting and DJ services. We got way more than that that! A professional staff, Valerie the Day of Coordinator who made sure we were on time for all portions of the wedding. DJ Tommy Gatz who is not only one of the best DJs we worked with but had fun during the entire night setting the tone for the evening. I think this DJ service is relatively new and hasn't been doing this for too long. I went to a wedding recently where he was the DJ and although there were a couple bumps in the road, he and his assistant did their best to recover. There were some issues with the songs, such as corrupt files and incorrect songs played, but from what I understand those problems have since been resolved or are being worked on to ensure they don't occur again. There were also issues with timing and I think as they DJ more weddings they will learn that they cannot plan every moment of the night, because weddings have changes and things happen that you need to adapt to. I do hope the DJ and his assistant either work on their professional relationship or go their separate ways, since there were things we didn't appreciate about her and there seemed to be a lot of tension between the two of them. After the wedding, the bride's mother spoke with the DJ and they did their best to make amends after the wedding because of the problems that happened. He was very apologetic and assured us that he would improve. I would also encourage them to not only get to know the couple whose wedding they are the DJ for, but also to work within the wishes of the bride and groom instead of insisting things be done their way. read more

I cannot recommend Tommy Gatz Entertainment enough. As I was in the early stages of planning my wedding the nerves began flooding into me. I grew more and more nervous with each phone call to a new vendor. I came across Tommy Gatz via Instagram. 5 mins into speaking with Tommy Gatz Entertainment I started to feel a little relief. The planning process became so much easier once my husband and I decided to use Tommy Gatz entertainment for our photographer, DJ and up lighting. Fast forward to our wedding day. The confidence I had from knowing that Tommy Gatz's team was in charge of capturing my important day and helping create those moment was something I will never forget. After the wedding we received our photos very quickly. As I was reviewing our photos, I couldn't help but smile and shed some happy tears. EVERYTHING WAS CAPTURED!!!! October 1st 2016 will be a date I will remember for the rest of my life. My name is Eddie Conway I am the owner of Garry's Grill & Catering in Severna Park. In my years of catering I have worked alongside many different DJs, and wedding planners. Therefore choosing one for our day was a tough task. I can say without a doubt choosing Tommy Gatz Entertainment and his staff was the best decision Allison and I made for our wedding. From the first sit down with Tommy and Valerie they showed the utmost professionalism. They made Allison and I feel like we were family. Every bride and groom going through the "wedding process" knows how stressful it can be. Finding a purveyor that can relive just a little bit of that stress is an incredible partner to have on your side. Here is Allison and my back story; We were supposed to be married October 1st 2016 at the Winery at Elk Manor in Northeast MD. The gentleman who ran the winery took our money along with 20 other brides and grooms, closed down due to being charged with money laundering and tax evasion. This all happened July 1st 2016 giving Allison and I 60 days to find a new venue. With that venue a wedding planner was to come with the day of planning. We went to Tommy and Valerie to explain the situation. Without missing a beat Valerie stepped up, took the reins, and helped us plan the whole wedding. Her and Tommy came out to our new venue (a back yard with little power) and plotted the whole thing out. We went in to their office showing zero nerves but screaming on the inside and left that meeting calm as a cucumber. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people are late in general. My motto is the same as Vince Lombardi's "To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, and to be late is to be forgotten." Tommy and his Team were "on time" by an hour to ensure all lighting, sound, and photography were in place. I asked Tommy why they were so early. His response is something I remember, "I'm early to every event, you never know what could happen and you always have to be ready, by being early you plan for any mishaps and have time to fix them." Did I mention it rained from morning to night and nothing missed a beat. Tommy's Djing was absolutely catered to the crowd. He played every song Allison and I requested. My family being from New York, they know how to burn up a dance floor. He made sure that happened. Once everything was wrapped up Tommy sent us pictures and the video in 4 weeks! When you get married of course you want to see the photos and video to remember the greatest day of your life. We went to his office to watch the video, where Allison and I relived our night. It was perfect. Tommy wanted to make sure we had it before Thanksgiving so we could show our family and friends. It shows how much he really cares. A true testament of a professional is not being seen or heard during an event. This allows the guests of honor feel truly that, honored. I can say from the bottom of my heart that Tommy Gatz entertainment 100% made Allison and my wedding what it was and we could not have done it without the help of him and his team. I've been in the events industry for over 5 years and have been dealing with the team at Tommy Gatz Entertainment personally for the past three. So, when it came time for mine and David's wedding I knew right where to go. The team provided my DJ Music, custom up- lighting, professional photography and cinematography, photo booth and a Day of Coordinator and for me, with my busy schedule (and David's lack of wedding experience lol) the team pulled together as I've seen them do a million times before and made the experience stress free and flawless!
