We loved our stay two night stay at the Hilton Gdańsk! The professionals working at the reception…read moredesk were very helpful. We received a lovely room overlooking a small street below. The room was large and very clean. All plumbing and electrical fixtures we used during our stay functioned well. The twin beds were very comfortable. HVAC unit was quiet and kept us comfortable. In face, our room (315) was very quiet despite it being an adjoining space. We were part of a Gate1Tour, and so received complimentary breakfast. I have never seen so many fresh, and delicious breakfast options in one Hilton space before! I recommend trying breakfast at least once during your stay. You will not be disappointed. Hilton's location on the water is prime. We enjoyed some the nearby shops, sights and eateries. That said, you will enjoy Hilton's insight restaurant too should you choose to dine there. The fine dining and excellent service were top notch. I highly recommend Hilton Gdańsk.

The shower was wonderful with slate flooring throughout. I loved the Crabtree and Evelyn soaps and shampoos. It really showed a level of class to have quality throughout. The bed was so comfortable and huge! It was bigger than our California King at home. We loved our room facing the canal. What a joy to wake every morning across from the Gdansk sign, a pelican going by on the water, a boat, everything coming alive. Then late in the evening after our adventures of the day, we could enjoy the lights glimmering on the canal and comforts of being home for the night in our room. We did the breakfast plan every morning which sustained us through the day. There was such a wonderful selection including herring, lox, eggs, sausages, cereals, and breads. We were able to enjoy eating outside when we wanted not far from the canal allowing us to people watch, and take it all in. The location of this hotel is perfect. You are able to walk the canal left and right, or access town behind you. We walked everywhere, and we loved it! Everyone from the front desk to the restaurant was very welcoming, and made us feel so comfortable. I want to go back right now to my roots...to Gdansk and the Hilton.

This is a beautiful train station. The architecture is very cool. I had a little trouble…read morenavigating, until I discovered the tunnel under the street to get to the other side and the Christmas market. Buying a ticket here was slightly challenging, and I wish they had a machine for day trips instead of having to play charades with the ticket person. At first the tracks were very confusing, but you will eventually get the hang of it.

The airport worker - woman responsible for assisting with scanning refused to help her and YELLED at her because my mom 'didn't speak Polish or English well'. My mother's question was understandable with minimal Polish knowledge. But the airport woman decided to ignore her because of Ukrainian accent!!! She acted in unprofessional way. And this mustn't happen to any tourist. Such a shame. I love this airport, but some staff is not for its level.

You'd think with all that free European money that they could muster up comfortable seating. We arrived to find that one could only go through to air side two hours prior to flight departure. Well that's the theory; you actually don't have two hours as one must be at the gate 20/30 minutes before departure time so the maximum time from the start of check in is 90 minutes. The reality can be much more unpleasant and no one says have a nice day. In our case they didn't manage to open the gate on time - it was 10 minutes late so we had 70 minutes and we were lucky as we were among the first passengers to check in. Next was airport security. And security to a woman and man were equally dreadful, incompetent, slow and downright rude. It took 40 difficult minutes to come out the other side and about 20 minutes in I seriously doubted I'd ever want to return to Gdansk ever again. I was losing the will to live. So we had 30 minutes to get to gate. Next, and as is now common, one is forced to walk through overpriced shops selling the sort of overpriced, overrated brand goods that I despise to get toward the departure gate where believe me glitzy vanished into cattle market dump. So, exhausted, we got to the gate with 20 minutes to spare but had we been at the end of the check in queue then that 20 minutes would evaporate and it was be even much more unpleasant. Lousy airport once you scratch below the rhinestone glitz.

Sure it wasn't raining and it was nice weather but the sun was setting and the heat lamp came in handy. They had a nice selection of wines -- we selected a Hungarian wine. Unfortunately, we haven't found good Polish wine since Krakow. The service was pleasant. They came, they served, the left. They did come back to see if we wanted anything else like food. We did not. They have a great inside bar area and the downstairs was cozy with tables and a faux fireplace for dinning. They also offer free wifi - which the waiter had to type in the password for us.

We decided to book this place based on the funky decor…read more It's in a great location, only a few minutes away from the big attractions of Gdansk and a short walk to the bus and train stations. You can take a lovely walk along the river from the hostel to the main streets and it's a very safe area. Our favorite part was the wonderful manager and staff who run this hostel. Every single recommendation they gave turned out to be incredible. They were friendly, patient and very warm people that we'd love to see again. We stayed in a private room in their facility across the street, which was very spacious and quiet. The bathrooms were very clean and the shower water was hot. The main common room is a great place to meet other people and they provide cushions and blankets if you just want to stay in and watch a movie. (The wi-fi doesn't reach into most of the rooms, so you may be spending a lot of time out in the common room.) We stayed for a total of six nights and would ABSOLUTELY come back to Happy Seven again.

It's a flashback in Time ... and you are the Earl or Dutchess or a famous Writer... 2. the Service is great... they do not only know how to serve... they make you feel welcome (which I didn't experience at a lot of Places in this city) 3. the Food: reasonable prices (Main dishes start at 11€).
