Supporting local, small businesses, I've had great experiences at Threads Alterations. They repaired a zipper on the Carhart that would cost $55 to replace. They replaced rivets on the baseball pants that I otherwise would've had to buy tool kit to do it myself. They've hemmed, taken in and replace zippers on other items. Product not delivered when promised. Did a terrible job on cushions for chair. So loose they look messy and worse when you sit on them. Like a messy unmade bed. Also tried to charge me $70 more than we agreed on initially. Didn't really want to even pay for them. Such awful workmanship!!!! Would not recommend this business to anyone ever!!!!!! Probably will need to have them re-done read more

I went into her shop hoping to get an estimate on some sewing and I was rudely met with "I don't have time to help you". I tried one more time to request assistance and again she rudely waved me off. I left the shop and don't plan on returning. read more

Really, really disappointed and shocked at the poor hem done by Elizabeth on my new dress for my daughter's wedding. I could have sewn straighter as an amateur. The thread also didn't match the existing stitching which made it even more noticeable. She didn't have it ready when promised either. She doesn't have pressing equipment so I still needed to have it pressed and she doesn't accept credit cards. read more

I had a terrible experience here. I dropped of two sundresses on May 24th to have a slit cut in each side of the dresses. I came back the second week of June but there was only 1 slit cut per dress. I may have mis-communicated originally to Elizabeth about wanting two. So instead of taking them with me, I left them there and asked to have a slit cut in the other side. I also questioned as to whether the amount I already paid was for 1 slit per dress or two. I never heard back as to whether the dresses were done, so I stopped in a few weeks later (early July) and spoke with a gal who originally could not find the dresses anywhere. I looked on the seamstresses desk and in a plastic grocery bag, I could see my two dresses inside. We pulled out the dresses and noted the second slit had not been added yet. I was puzzled and again, gave them my phone # and said I would like to have them added and to find out if it was more money. Again, no call, no contact. So I stopped by their office end of July/first week of August to check on the dresses. I was then told that way too much time had past and they donated them! I was flabbergasted! The gal there said that was their policy and I couldn't speak to the owner until Aug 13th. So I called Elizabeth the owner at Threads today, August 14th and she was very short with me, relayed quickly her version of what happened, said there's nothing more she can do for me, and hung up on me! She indicated that she had the legal requirement to donate items left over a period of 30 days. However, I had been in there a few times to pick them up/follow up. When I tried to speak, she just talked over me and I never got the chance to tell her my customer experience. And my sincere disappointment that they gave away both dresses without trying to contact me. One dress had only been worn once. When she hung up on me, I thought maybe it was a dropped call so I called back and noone picked up the phone, so I left a voicemail. However, I had been in there a few times to pick them up/follow up. They also said they tried calling me several times, but I only received one voicemail when they were done after the first slit was added. Honestly, I did not expect for her to pay me for the dresses and obviously I couldn't get them back at this point. I was hoping to just have her hear me out, offer her regrets for my horrible experience. But to then have her hang up on me and blame me for leaving my garments for too long, that's terrible customer service. read more

Went here once for alterations, when I showed up to pay the lady who was there was so incredibly rude when I pulled out a credit card to pay that I will never go back. She scathingly told me CC were not accepted, I kindly told her it was my first time being there and had cash. She tried to retract her nastiness but it left a bad flavor in my mouth. The customer service is great, and every effort is made by the personnel to achieve the results you're looking for - often, something that works as well as a more expensive alternative, but that is more economical. I've always found the people there to be helpful, accommodating and pleasant. read more

I have taken several articles of clothing to Threads. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The work is completed quickly and with expertise. The price is extremely fair. We have purchased 2 suits for my husband within the year and turned down the complementary tailoring both times because I'd rather take the pants to Threads and know the work will be done properly. As for the previous review, there are signs posted regarding cash-only payment. You should see them when you drop off the clothing and shouldn't be surprised when you return for pick-up. In my opinion, paying cash is part of "supporting the local guy". Credit and debit card companies charge percentage fees for every transaction. read more
