Let me preface this by saying I rarely leave negative reviews. In January, I had a telehealth visit with Elizabeth Dewey for a persistent dry cough following a viral illness. The visit felt rushed and minimal, ending after a few minutes. I was prescribed montelukast and Airsupra. Based on established medical guidance and sources such as FDA labeling and NIH-supported literature, these medications are generally prescribed for asthma-related conditions, not post-viral cough. I have no history of asthma or respiratory disease. I also explicitly have a history of anxiety/depression that was previously discussed in this practice, yet I was prescribed montelukast despite its boxed warning regarding potential neuropsychiatric side effects. In hindsight, this prescribing decision felt poorly aligned with both my symptoms and risk profile. The medications ultimately provided no benefit. Separately, the handling of billing and follow-up was unacceptable. I was not clearly informed of an outstanding balance in any meaningful way. The only notifications were two vague text messages from an unidentified number, with no clear due date, no escalation notice, and no supporting communication via email, phone call, or voicemail. That is not reasonable or adequate notice for patient billing. Without any prior warning, I arrived for a scheduled appointment this morning only to be told it had been canceled due to "bad debt." I was then informed the account had already been sent to collections and that I was no longer eligible to be seen at the practice. This occurred despite me immediately offering to pay the balance on-site once informed. Again - I received no prior warnings or notifications other than two vague text messages. I also received zero communications my appointment this morning had been cancelled. It has been three months (95 days to be exact) since my January appointment. To cancel my appointment, account, and escalate to collections within three months with ZERO prior notice is amateur, unprofessional, and leads me to believe the other reviews suggesting general dysfunction, disorganization, and a lack of concern or care for patients. I find this process highly unprofessional. Patients should not be blindsided at check-in for a scheduled appointment over a relatively small outstanding balance, especially without proper communication or opportunity to resolve it beforehand. Overall, this experience reflects poor clinical judgment in my case and a disorganized, punitive administrative process. I would not recommend this practice based on this experience. read more

58 and feeling great thanks to Dr. Dewey and her team!... I love Dr. Dewey, Kimberly Tatum (NP) and their phlebotomist. I have been a patient for approx. 5 yrs. and cannot recommend this practice highly enough. Dr. Dewey and Kimberly make time for me. I feel comfortable and unhurried talking with them about any and all aspects of my health (I.e. physical, emotional and sexual health). I have been treated with respect and dignity making it easy to have candid, open conversations. I also appreciate how thorough both practitioners have been when reviewing all of my RXs and supplements. They helped me weed out unnecessary medicines and improved my understanding of when to take what for optimal efficacy. I have found scheduling appointments easy to do and am seen in a timely manner. I appreciate the flexibility of in-person and Telehealth visits. As a fainter, I have found the practice's phlebotomist to be among one of the best I have been to. She is friendly, professional and quick making the experience virtually painless and easy. I have recommended Dr. Dewey's practice to friends and neighbors. I trust Dr. Dewey and her team. Worst Medical Experience I've Ever Had -- Patients Beware!!!! This practice has been one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences of my life. They make you come back multiple times for issues that could easily be handled in a single visit, and it feels very much like they're squeezing as much money as possible out of you and your insurance company. The staff turnover is unbelievable. Every time I came in, there were new employees, and none of them seem happy to be there. The environment feels tense, uncomfortable, and honestly, the whole place acts like patients and employees are just trapped in some kind of insurance mill and jail. Expect to be forced to wear a mask, questioned about your personal medical decisions, and pressured about vaccines you do not want and ultimately do not need. If you dare to have an opinion about your own body, plan to be talked down to, questioned, berated and ultimately yelled at. The provider is argumentative, condescending, and rude, there is zero empathy or warmth. Needing three separate visits just to complete a yearly appointment and receive routine ADHD medication is absurd. Other medical professionals I've spoken with have confirmed that this process is completely unnecessary and looks like nothing more than an insurance scam. If you value your time, your autonomy, or basic human respect, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. Patients deserve better, and so do the employees who clearly look miserable working there!!! read more

I love this practice. I have to have routine blood work for my thyroid and they're always quick. One time, I was in and out within 15 minutes whereas my previous doctor, I'd be there for hours. I love the virtual appointments and have had a wonderful experience, especially with Kimberly Tatum, NP. The negative reviews really surprise me. I highly recommend this practice. read more

Dr Dewey is very rude to staff and patients . She over speaks and does not let you say anything!!! She feels she is never wrong and she is all about the money . She brings the patients back four and five times in a couple months to bill insurances . She tells them she can't discuss any issues without another appointment which has never happened at any other office I have been too.. she claims everyone has anxiety , insomnia and depression!!! Terrible bed side manor and has a terrible turn around in employees due to her lack of respect an under staffed . Front staff in charge of practically running entire office. Nurses don't know any answers a front has to handle everything . Worst office ever read more

I've really enjoyed with the staff at this doctor's office. My nurse practitioner, Kimberly, is excellent with communication and clarity in her health advice. She asks relevant questions and provides me with written information, as needed. Though I'm still a new patient, this location appears to be a good fit for my health needs. Meetings with Dr. Dewey feel like a collaboration to create my personal health plan. I look forward to a continued relationship with this office for years to come. read more

I wish more patients would leave a positive review for Dr. Dewey. We all know that people who have a bad experience or those who have an invisible axe to grind take to yelp to give bad reviews. Ask yourself why the person who apparently knew "other patients who had incorrect diagnosis" come to Dr. Dewey in the first place? It absolutely makes no sense. As a patient and a mental health worker, the words in this patient's review tend to make me think that Dr. Dewey was refusing to prescribe medications like benzodiazepines and narcotics. If a physician is threatening to remove you from the practice it is usually for a reason! Dr. Dewey is one of the most caring and gentle physicians that I know and should not have to deal with people like this! Unfortunately, I have not met Dr. Dewey. I have called her practice twice asking about their acceptance of new patients after relocating to the area. I was grilled about my insurance for 5 mins, even though it is United Healthcare, which is in-network with her. Then I was asked if I could call them to verify, even though I explained I picked her because she was in-network on the website. THEN I was told she couldn't get me or my husband in until August, even though he needs to be seen. What is this?! the absolute most worst experience mostly after the fact. Sat for a 1hr to wait for someone thennnnn I was seen for 2 min appointment as Marie likes to say (getting established apt) which was last year. Had my weight and blood pressure given chile I could've given them that information. Wouldn't recommend. She is obviously very insecure because if you ask any questions about what she tells you, she gets offended and nasty. I feared taking a certain medication she recommended because of another issue I had going on, and it was almost as if she wasn't hearing me at all. She actually threatened to excuse me as a patient. I was recommended to see Dr. Dewey as a primary care doctor in the Greensboro area by a friend of mine who works in the medical field. My first visit was welcoming and the staff working alongside each other have been friendly upon each visit. My second visit occurred a week sooner than scheduled as I received unfortunate news from an MRI scan that was requested by my optometrist after my annual visit with him. Dr. Dewey shared the challenging diagnosis with me and immediately referred me to Wake Forest Baptist Medical center for further consultations with Dr. Tatter, specialist in Neurosurgery. This consultation took place the next morning followed by neurosurgery the day after that. I am rating Dr. Dewey's office 5 stars given all the help and guidance/referrals that were taken/made so immediately given the circumstances I faced and am currently undergoing. Each step, both small and large, has brought encouragement due to the medical teams between Dr. Dewey's and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. It helps ease any anxiety to know you are in good hands as far as the medical staff/team go. I truly appreciate all the assistance and time taken out for me at Dr. Dewey's office as an individual that had only one visit under my belt prior to where I am now having weekly lab-works completed in a convenient location. read more

Beware of this person! I had several awful experiences with her "caring" for my child. The last was a few years ago, when my husband and I were justifiably concerned about our preteen's thyroid (family history, displaying multiple symptoms of hypothyroidism, etc.) and this doctor went OFF on us for being, and I quote, "negligent" parents for "forcing" our daughter to have a blood draw when she was afraid of needles. This was in a separate room from our child, but she also said disgusting things to invalidate us and our concerns in front of our child, and then refused to do any tests to investigate our child's presenting health issues! This woman is completely unethical and inappropriate and should not be in any field where she has to deal with live humans. Read reviews on the internet. I realize many have had similar experiences! I have also noticed that since she may have started a new practice, the old yelp reviews, which were terrible, are no longer online. I'd be curious how many times she's needed to move her location in the last few years to avoid irate patients. read more
