Set in the sweetest studio in Meriden, the class taught and clarified everything I've been fumbling around with for four years on one of my photog boyfriend's Nikon SLRs. From lighting techniques to playing with ISO/aperture/shutter speed and photo composition, this class finally drew me away from the go-to camera auto settings and deeper into the previously dreaded manual setting. With the basics course as a prerequisite, Marisa also teaches a series of more advanced classes from portraits to product photography and one-on-one business mentoring. I was in a bit of a crunch because my fiancee is in the military, and I wanted to take pictures before he went back overseas. I talked to Stephanie over the phone before the photoshoot to go over the location, and the type of photos I was looking for in the session. She was professional and very accommodating. She arrived early to check out the location I had picked, and we talked about some ideas beforehand and during the session. It was my first time taking formal pictures in public like this, so I was nervous, but she made us feel very comfortable. At the end I was so happy with the results, the picture came out were AMAZING!! Fast forward to wedding planning (2019). . . I contacted Steph and Tim. I felt so comfortable during the engagement photoshoot with her, that there was no one else in mind to photograph my wedding. During the wedding process we talked about pricing (she was very fair), and the types of photos I wanted. During the wedding she was very patient, kind, and professional.
