We were so impressed with her consultation, as she provided us with an array of designs and schemes - at different price points- that were absolutely beautiful and captured the exact vision that we wanted for our home. She really listened! She completely "dressed" our home in custom draperies for multiple rooms in the house, a valence in the kitchen and wood shutters for my office. I was thoroughly pleased with the custom faux iron window coverings that she suggested for my upper windows in my family room. They are instant conversation starters and I have referred many customers to KDI for her great work on designing those pieces as well as the draperies throughout the house. She also has a great installation team - they arrived on time, they were neat and considerate and above all, they did great work! Three years after the completion of that project, I made the decision move to another home. KDI took my custom draperies from the first house and did an outstanding job of installing them into my current home. I ended up spending hours myself trying to share my direction for my dinning room, sourcing my own products, and basically arguing with Michelle to get my vision to come to life. Her communication is super delayed and very unprofessional. Multiple times she was AGGRESSIVE and rude as if I was doing her a favor when I was paying client. I am part to blame as stylistically she was not the best that I interviewed, however, I wanted to support a woman owned black business. She ended up terminating my contract after I paid the first installment - all I got out of it was her sourcing a dinning table. It was just the worse professional experience I've ever encountered. As someone who works with influencers and designers, I had no choice but to leave my first negative review ever. Her assistant Karyn is a God send. Super sweet and responsive and also would go above and beyond to make sure your needs are heard. Please do your research before working with any designer. I was thankful it was only an $800 mistake, but the time spent I could've done the entire room myself with out the trauma and waist of money.
