I was on a quest to find drawer knobs and I felt like I had searched high and low. I came across Elizabeth's Embellishments online (I live in LA) and found just what I was looking for at a good price! I bought 12 clear round cut drawer knobs and I received them two days later. I noticed one was 1/4" smaller than the rest so I called and spoke to Elizabeth directly (she just so happened to have answered the phone). It took a week or so, but she sent me a new one! She didn't ask or request that I send the irregular one back- and to me, that made all the difference. GREAT customer service! I bought a $50 candle that made my whole family feel sick and they refused to take it back saying that they wouldn't be able to resell it. I told them that I was a loyal customer and it wasn't fair that I would have to throw away a $50 candle and they said tough luck. They didn't seem remorseful or willing to help in anyway. I am totally disgusted by this lack of customer service and will never spend another dime in the store. Their loss would've been much smaller had they returned the candle or let me exchange it. I was looking to buy Ganz Heart Measuring cups online and found that this shop had them listed as for sale. I ordered them on the Sunday night 1 week before Christmas, hoping that the expedited shipping that may have let the items arrive on time. I received an email confirmation that evening. I emailed them on Tuesday at 1pm to ask if they had shipped my item yet. I got a response on Wednesday evening saying that they were out of stock and that they "have been needing to email me" that it wouldn't be available. I'm disappointed that a store with a large web presence wouldn't keep accurate stock numbers and let customers know up front if it would be available or not. The other irritating part is that I had to reach out to them to ask about my order. They are unprofessional at best. read more

Online Shopping Review: I placed an order for a few Mudpie canisters, kitchen supplies and two aprons. Everything was packed securely. I unwrapped every item and inspected it carefully for damage and defects. I could find no fault with my purchases. The aprons smelled "nice". They had a perfumed aroma to them. I can't explain why or what scent, but I was very pleased. The scent made me feel happy. I am 100% satisfied with my online purchases. As a first time customer, I was initially worried. I waited until after Christmas to get some ornaments from my local store but they sold out. I searched the internet and found them at Elizabeth Embellishments. They weren't on sale but I was so happy to find them that I didn't care. I ordered them and received them promptly. They were well-packed and arrived safely at my home. Worst customer service and management ever. Apparently, my purchase of a decorative urn was a floor sample AND damaged, but it was shipped to me any way. When it arrived at my place and I opened it, I was showered in glitter, loose beads and a small piece of glass. When I set the urn on my table, it was bent to one side. Normally, I would have sent it back and requested a replacement. However, they didn't have any more and weren't expecting a new shipment for a while. My mom had found this urn and wanted it as a gift for her birthday. When I showed it to her, she told me she was disappointed, but because I couldn't get a replacement she would still like to keep it and try and fix it, but the fact that it shipped damaged and obviously an item that was used on the sales floor, I should try and request a discount. Most stores will give a discount on damaged products or floor samples. After contacting the store, AND sending pictures, a guy named Paul basically said, "Sorry. Send it back." He wouldn't acknowledge any questions I had about WHY the item was sent like this in the first place, and definitely wouldn't work with me on any kind of discount or even recognize that the packaging of this urn was poor. I've been in management and the first rule is to keep the customer happy. This company failed to do this. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I love the items they have; always unusual and fun. The prices seem to have soared lately, though. Blouse after blouse at $207!! Right! Mainly, I will stop going there because lately, they have followed me through the store. The minute you go into the backroom, someone comes and starts mindlessly sorting through racks. Very adorable store and concept. You can get very cute antique or french style decorations, bedding and home goods. The clothing is a bit on the expensive side and it is easy to spend more than you thought you would. Elizabeth is very friendly without being intrusive and I understand why they have someone follow you around the store because it is quite large. I do wish they would take it easy on the rayon, loose clothing. The clothing is cute and antiquey but most of it is absolutely shapeless. This is from someone who has spent several hundred dollars in clothes here. I ended up not wearing them as much because I found I really like cotton and organic materials which are more comfortable, especially in the summer. Everything I purchased from shirts to tunics to sweaters and dresses are very boxy and have no form. I do love the country look but this is not very practical. Anyway, I do love this store but wish they would have more cotton and linen that is not so boxy. read more

I am a wedding florist and I ordered a particular color of Midori ribbon by the yard for a wedding. After it didn't arrive for 10 days, I decided to call Elizabeth's Embellishments to check the status of the order. The next day I got a call back from Paul who told me that the ribbon was on back order, so they hadn't shipped anything out at all. And they didn't bother to let me know, either. My only choice to get the ribbon was to have them drop ship the entire roll to me direct from the manufacturer (somehow, even though the ribbon is on back order, it can be drop shipped to me... but not them? hmmmm). Because of the complete oversight and lack of work ethic of the folks at Elizabeth's Embellishments, I ended up spending over $100 on merchandise that would have cost me just $17 had these people chosen to do their job. Paul (Elizabeth's husband) refused to compensate me in any way, saying they were waiving the drop ship fee that the manufacturer charges them (as they well should!). Who does business this way?! Shockingly awful experience for this customer and no sincere remorse on the part of the merchant. I will be buying all my ribbon somewhere else! The item was only $11 so shipping both ways would cost me more than the value of the item. Curtains are great. Delivery and customer service...more than awful. I bought curtains that were to be delivered within 4-8 business days (Just like their policy said) . Still no curtains after 3 1/2 weeks.Called said they would be there in 3 more days. 1 month goes buy still no curtains. Called and said still no curtains and can he give me some sort of discount for the ridiculous delay. he said no way and proceeded to tell me how sorry he was again. I asked why there was nothing said about any back order or any email or confirmation on when they'll be here. Said, they'll come on Friday (1 week later after I spoke with him. (It will be OVER 1 month now.) Friday passed and now it's Monday and till no curtains. EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE and NO accountability !! I just called the manufacture and told me they didn't get the order until may 21st. And I ordered them May1st!!! The sheer audacity, impersonal, and unprofessional disregard the owners of Elizabeth's Embellisments recently displayed is unconscionable. This complaint is not about the money, it is about principle. In my case there was a mis-order, albeit debatable whose fault, but that is not the real issue. (I was ordering an item titled Cherry Blossom, and maybe hit cherry, and it turns out they sell other cherry items. Another problem with this company is once you place your order their initial confirmation email does not name the item. It will say you ordered item # such and such. Again, I am not sure whose fault is it, but I did explain all of this; yet they were unreasonable.) Heed this warning, and do not do business with this company because if there is even a small snag, you are on your own. I was a first time buyer; so prior to placing my order I called and spoke directly to the owner, Elizabeth, then I ordered online. I made the call because I wanted to ensure the item was exactly what I was looking for. Upon receipt of the wrong item I immediately placed a call, I wanted to do an exchange for the correct item, plus double the quantity. I explained to Elizabeth's husband, Paul, I would be willing to split the shipping costs. Now don't you hate when the owners tell you there is nothing they can do! That simply is not so since they make the policies. I happen to sell and ship merchandise, and there is no question, I would have absorbed the shipping costs, even if the customer canceled the order, let alone doubled their order, which was my intent. I tried every form of diplomacy but not even after a conversation, followed by an email, would these owners budge. I guess the six dollars and change one way shipping cost is more important than selling 2 items, and keeping a new customer. That alone is a flag to steer clear. After realizing the type of company I was dealing with the trust was broken; therefore, my return shipping costs were several dollars more because I now needed to further protect myself by paying extra for a postal signature confirmation receipt. So now I have spent approximately 18 dollars and way too much energy on nothing. Had I reordered it would have been even more shipping costs. I also notified my credit card company to dispute the shipping charge, and as an outstanding customer for over 30 years they backed me 100%. By the way, I did a search for the items and the manufacturer found me a local supplier. The cost was 20% cheaper, and no shipping charges. read more
