They do have a fantastic selection of anything needed for outdoor sports. Prices are extremely high though. Expect that when you walk in you will be followed all over the store. I don't want to have to feel like I'm doing something wrong when I'm not. If you go downstairs staff will run through doors to get there before you do when they have workers down there. Completely uncalled for I will NEVER go back in that store. It's sad because they are loosing business, my family loves fishing, hunting, and archery. read more

Henry is amazing company. They took care of it ASAP. Why would Elks County Ammo & Arms sell a rifle that had scratches on it. On Saturday 2/13/21 I spoke with an employ of Elk County Arms via telephone to purchase 4 flats of Federal Trap shells. The price of $70.00per flat. I offered to pay for them at the time using my CC card. I was told no need to pay over the phone we have plenty of these shells and just pay for them when you arrive. On Wednesday 2/17 I made the 200 mile drive to make the purchase. I was then told the price increased to $100 per flat. This was nothing more than pure GREED. Elk County Ammo and Arms has a pretty wide selection of firearms and other supplies aimed at hunters. Sometimes their prices are a little high but not unreasonable. If you need ammo, a handgun, a rifle, a shotgun, clothing, scopes, mounts, bolts, bows, cleaning equipment, or anything else in the wide world of the out doors this is the place to find it in St. Marys. My biggest complaint is some of the help. One of the sales people tried to jerk me around and then inadvertently pointed a firearm at me while he was looking at it. Greg from Elk County tried to bribe me out of $30 after a misunderstanding on GunBroker. Very unprofessional and rude customer service. He yelled at me and called me names until he finally realized he was in the wrong. At that point instead of coming to a middle ground he insisted on bribing me for $30 to forget this matter. After I refused he then offered to have me pay a bribe of $12 dollars or he would write a bad review against me. This was his fault as he did not have the item available for purchase, but listed on Gun Broker as a sellable item. Steer clear from this business!! read more

I was really impressed with the in store visit I had. Being from NY and passing through to see a sick friend in Ridgway Pa. I have to say I have not seen such a selection of anything like that in awhile. I was asked if I was being assisted by several employees. I walked the shop to see what I could find on my own at first, eventually asking for assistance from several of the folks in the shop, as I needed. They were kind to answer my questions and show me where to go and explain any concerns I had. I was having such a good experience, my friend was texting me if I was ok. Now, this is my one and only visit and I don't think going back next time will be any different(hopefully). Not sure of any names or the difference of managers to associates, they all were pleasant. If anything I should apologize to the new clerk who I snubbed over more experienced employees. I will be going back again soon and looking for another positive experience. read more

I placed an online eBay order for a rifle scope from Elk County Ammo & Arms. I paid just over $500 on 12/07/2020 and it's now 12/29/2020 and I still do not have my rifle scope. USPS tracking shows no movement from the local Pennsylvania post office since 12/16/2020 and the only explanation Elk County Ammo & Arms has offered me is the post office is overwhelmed. I can see possibly a few extra days due to volume at the post office but NO WAY a package just sits in one place for 13 plus days with no movement! I have been getting all of my USPS, FedEx, UPS and Amazon deliveries just fine. Clearly my package has been lost but all I'm getting from Elk County Ammo & Arms is the runaround. The hunting trip I ordered this scope for has long since past. I'm beyond mad about this, yet instead of being understanding and sending me another scope via overnight delivery like I requested, they deflected and lashed out at me for using the "F" word in one of my MANY email attempts to resolve this issue peacefully. The last communication I received from them today is they didn't like my choice of the "F" word so they are requesting a USPS "package intercept" so I don't get my scope at all. Nice! Really? Maybe someone at Elk County Ammo & Arms should try and envision just how upset they would feel if they paid over $500 for something that never arrived? Maybe they too would want to use the "F" word? A guy I know from the area and me went in this Gun Shop looking for 35 Remington Ammunition. They had Hornady 200 Gn in stock! That doesn't happen every day. This is one of the nicest gun stores I've ever been in. Well stocked and organized with guns and all the supplies we all need. They had a Henry H010 chambered in 45-70 in stock! This is the first time i ever was able to see one in person. It was the lowest price I've ever seen on a new Henry in this model.I was checked out by one of the owners, Dave. He was friendly and personable. I don't think their prices are out of line, and its great to have a store of this caliber in little ole St. Mary's! read more
