    Summer pizza

Love Elk Lake in both the summer and winter. In the summer it's an easy drive. They have beer and pizza. Nice spot to paddle board. In the winter it's a good spot to snowmobile to. They did just have new ownership and have redone the whole restaurant. It's a little fancier now, still very good. Excellent customer service. Cool spot to get out of the cold, couple of fireplaces. They just opened for the winter. The have some great cocktails and food.

Lots of renovations. Lodge is awesome. We skate skied on new groomed trail with lots of new snow. Downhill most of the 11 miles. Food and drinks were great. We took the snowcat back to Mt. Bachelor/Dutchman Sno-park and it was a great experience. Snow mobiles also shared the road/trail so it was great to go early on fresh snow and grooming. Lots of scenic views.

    Broken windows

Terrible experience, overpriced with false advertising. For nearly $500/night, we were promised lake views on the website, you can't hardly see anything through the trees. Dirty, stained couches and rugs, five broken windows, one patched with plywood, no coffee or basics in the kitchen, and overpriced internet at $25/day per device. Management doesn't seem to care at all.

We normally have had fantastic service here, but tonight we felt like we were an inconvenience. We absolutely love this place and the food, but tonight the Bartender's energy towards us and her servers was extremely rude, negative and stand-off-ish. Also, typically you inform your customers of last call.... (And not snap at your servers for putting in drinks after the fact with a full patio). I want to give the food 4 stars, but service 1 star.

I'd like to start off by saying....I absolutely love Oregon especially Central Oregon. It is our second home. My husband spent his summers here as a child and through out his teen years. so now our kids spend their summers here. Beautiful views! Elk Lake is a stunning place. I recommend anyone headed to Oregon to go here. You can rent canoes, paddle boards, kayakes etc. during summer and enjoy the lake while breathing the fresh air and taking in with how beautiful this place is. They have cabins, camping cabins, cabanas, glamping tents, camp grounds, and RV grounds. during summer. I believe only cabins and camping cabins during winter....obviously lol or you'll freeze your a$$. The food is pretty good at their restaurant. Its' an historic lodge so it has that cabin and rustic vibe going. I totally recommend going here.

Absolutely beautiful lake, pristine day with sunshine and a lite breeze. This Lake is back behind (on the backside) of Mt Bachelor about 50 minutes West of Bend. It is an amazing lake and crystal clear deep blue water. It was surprisingly warm considering this is from snow melt. We will be back! The restaurant is meh, but with an ice cold beer there really isn't anything to complain about

Don't order the $15 nachos. They're disgusting. Unless you enjoy "cheese product" from a can and a sloppy mess of inedible toppings.

Do yourself a favor, just bring your lunch from home. The food fine, but the kitchen is so slow.

This is not the fault of what was once a serene, quiet top quality fishing lake. Now, the fishing…read moresucks because the lake is not really stocked anymore, and all the fish are natives, but because of the fact that paddleboarders have taken over, the fish are not as plentiful as they once were. Get there after 10 am? Good luck finding a place to park that isn't the side of the road on Elk lake loop. People now crowd in parking so badly on both sides to the access to the boat ramp makes putting in and getting out an actual boat extremely difficult. Plus people have no clue they are in the way, just put out your paddleboard and pump it up, oblivious that they are blocking the road, on both sides. Fishing is incredibly difficult when there is a freeway of paddleboarders and kayakers continually going by. The lake channels seem even more crowded when having to stay to the right with a non stop rush of non fishers speeding by as if it is a race to get wherever. At last visit i noticed hardly anyone had nw forest passes displayed nor dashboard daily passes. I think the paddleboarders have taken advantage that this lake's parking and access is not regulated. When i left there were over 20 cars in the "parking lot" at least 10 on both side of the access road and another 20 lining the Elk lape loop. I talked with a local person that had been going there for 50 years and in their words, "this place is a f*cking zoo". Never going back, this lake is ruined, thanks paddleboarders.

I had the pleasure recently of visiting the Bend area for the first time since I was a kid -…read moreincluding a day trip to beautiful Hosmer Lake for some canoeing! Set against the picturesque backdrop of Mount Bachelor, Hosmer is a popular, serene lake full of wild birds, lilipads, and great canoeing and kayaking. The weather was warm and the water was smooth as we glided the canoe across the lake and found a quiet spot at the far end to go ashore and do some exploring. Even though the parking lot was busy, the lake was big enough that we didn't feel crowded or like we were encountering other visitors at every turn. There's a small boat launch, decent sized parking lot, and a pit toilet here - as well as a campground (which we didn't visit on this trip). If you're looking to enjoy some watersports near Bend, I highly recommend Hosmer!
