I appreciate that level of service- and so, I do recommend them. They do have a good selection of medical supplies, and they are the closest compounding pharmacy. Worth it to stop in. Costco, Walmart, Kroger. My dr suggested I try a local pharmacy but warned me they would likely not accept my insurance. So I tried Geist; i needed my medication and it is pretty close to my house and work. Thank freaking goodness i did. 10000/10. Not only did they have the rx in stock (woo woo), but they also stopped everything they were working on to fill it right then, they took their time getting to know me and my needs, and they went above and beyond to make sure my insurance accepted it. Btw- cvs has my insurance for all my other prescriptions and they still didn't apply it to this rx. Like what?? It was truly one of those moments where I felt like I was in a hallmark movie or something I didn't realize customer service still existed, and I love that I didn't have to talk to an AI operator for 10 minutes to get my rx filled. I will be using them for all of our family's rx needs moving forward.

Besides, I am a taxpayer and I don't like the waste for their maximum profit. Anyway, Eagle Highland Pharmacy, known to me online as Ostomy Care Supply, was very helpful getting me set up, letting me know what they needed to process the claim and what that process was. I try not to cut it close, but the shipments do come fairly quickly so that wouldn't be a problem, and the claims have gone through fine. If I lived close, I would try them out as my local pharmacy.

I've been going to Nora Apothecary for about five years to get harder to find supplements prescribed by integrative health professionals. Their retail section carries an extensive selection of specific lines of supplements, specifically Pure, Thorne, Solgar, Designs for Health, Integrative Therapeutics, Metagenics, and Ortho Molecular Products. They also carry some OTC pet products. But their primary function is as a compounding pharmacy, one of only a handful in town and 2 or maybe 3 on the north side. There are two pharmacists who work there, and one in particular, the owner Tony, is super friendly. I won't name names, but the technicians can be hit or miss in terms of their knowledge and customer service. I've never waited more than 5-10 min even when I didn't call in a refill first, but obviously it would be best to do so. I have cross-referenced prices between Nora Apothecary and another leading compounding pharmacy. They are more or less similar and can be less than prices charged by one health care professional who carried much of what he prescribed in his office, which was one reason I started going there to begin with. Given that they are a fixture on the north side, quick and friendly, I will continue coming to Nora Apothecary.

Today, Max's son, Dr. John Cowan operates the pharmacy. The drug store maintains its historic and independent charm. The pharmacy counter stands as it did 50 years ago, serving customers. The first six prescriptions filled in 1885 hang framed on the wall surrounded by vintage pharmaceutical bottles. The pharmacy provides vaccines as well as fills prescriptions. The store also sells a great selection of Hallmark cards and gifts, local postcards, candy and nuts. While the photo shop within the drugstore closed years ago, a collection of vintage cameras is displayed on shelves. The Cubbard is a popular breakfast and lunch spot in the rear of the store. The food is down home delicious. You see the same friendly faces every visit. Cowan's is an amazing locally owned business and worth a visit. There is free street parking.
