But I wanted to add a review now because I've recently had two great curly haircuts with Hannah, the new owner. The salon doesn't currently emphasize curly cuts in their advertising, so I wanted to let other people wearing their hair curly know that you can find someone with those skills and attentiveness to what the client wants here. Hannah asked lots of detailed questions about what I was looking for. She also did a dry cut, styled with a diffuser, and checked in regularly about the style. I'm thrilled to have this resource in my (sort of) backyard.

Stay away from this they will harass you. FYI I found a different dermatologist that is treated my issue for $45.00 a year. The redness is gone. This place went right to the most expensive medication before trying anything else. Felt very uncomfortable from the minute I walked in the door. Front end was only worried about a missing hundred dollars. I felt like I was just a bothering the entire staff and wasting their time. I just wanted out of there. I waited over two months to be seen and regret going there. Told me my redness in face would not go away. The reason I went there in the first place. Then ptrescribed me medication (one was not covered by insurance. Cost of the medication $596.00 and not going help with the redness). Then what is the point in taking medication if is not going to help. They told me I had to use their mail order services for prescriptions. Did not get to see a doctor for new Patient visit. Tried to sell me a bunch of over counter stuff that I could get else where much cheaper for exact same thing.. They did not even try or give me other options. Then wanted me to buy their insurance. The view cannot be beat; you look outward to the most gorgeous view of Gull Lake - stunning! However, if your priority is a quality service then skip the manicure for sure. My manicure did not last 4 hours before it started to chip. By 24 hours, I had only three fully intact nails with polish. The nail tech used Dazzle Dry, which peeled within hours. HOWEVER, I strongly suspect the peeling occurred because the nail tech did not have me wash my hands after applying oil. Also, my pedicure is going strong with the same Dazzle Dry color (no oil). I do not expect any nail polish could perform with oil being laid down as a foundation. Net, it began peeling immediately. I suspect the nail tech is new to the profession based on the oil error, haphazard filing and service length (my appt ran 30 mins long). On the positive side, she was absolutely lovely to converse with (5-star for friendliness!). In fact, she gave us many dining pointers that led to the best meal we had at Classic Grill. I was there for the experience, so I did not complain. BUT, my experience is worth sharing in case your priority is a great nail service; you will not find it at The Spa at Madden's (at least not with the 2024 nail tech). To add, I selected a topper for my toes, but the same nail tech ran out of time to apply it, so I was sent off without the desired topper, and my massage therapist provided an awkward public scolding for my service running long. Main/Pedi - Service = 0, Experience = 5, Total Score = 2. Deep tissue massage - I gave explicit instructions upfront for the massage therapist to spend the majority of the 90-minute service on my neck and back. She saved my back until the last 10-15 minutes. Also, the pressure was definitely not deep tissue. Service = 1, Experience = 3, Total Score = 2 As a visitor to Madden's Spa over 18 years I wanted to LOVE my "spa day", BUT it was an epic fail, especially given I paid nearly $600 for my services and a pedicure for my SO. Please do better next season, The Spa at Madden's. 2024 didn't live up to my past experiences and arguably wouldn't meet anyone's expectations. The higher end Aveda toiletries were a luxury I very much enjoyed when I showered after my massage. My masseuse was Dawson, and he was fantastic. I get regular massages at all different spas, and I have to say that my massage with him was one of the most relaxing I've ever had. He communicated well and had excellent technique. I never fall asleep during massages and I almost did here - 3 times! I would definitely request him by name the next time I return. Overall I was very impressed with this spa. I sat outside in the rocking chairs for an hour afterward chatting with friends - the only thing that was missing was coffee delivery! Otherwise it was a 10/10.
