Sydney and her friend received pedicures, and I had a dip powder manicure. Unfortunately, none of the services justified the high price. The pedicures were incredibly rushed, with very little attention to detail or care. My dip manicure was especially disappointing. I regularly get dip powder at another salon, and it typically lasts for weeks with no chipping or lifting of the overlay. This time, I left with uneven shaping, sloppy polish lines, and visible residue along my cuticles. Within two days, the dip was already chipping, which should not happen with a properly applied dip system. For the amount charged, I expected precision, cleanliness, and durability. Instead, the entire experience felt hurried and careless. I would not return based on this visit. read more

I haven't provided a review prior to this, however I feel compelled to do so. The experience was truly disappointing. My mother and I had appointments scheduled, my mother for manicure and myself for pedicure and acrylic fill. I met my mother at the nail place. I was 10 mins late to my appointment due to being from out of state and not familiar with the location. We were treated poorly by staff. They were cold and treated us like we were an annoyance to them. They rushed my mother who was barely there for 20 min start to finish. They did not give her the color she wanted and asked for. My manicure was rushed and poorly done. Nails were not even and were not filed properly. I asked for coffin shape and some were and other are square oval. There was polish left on my skin around my nails and I asked the nail tech to take it off. She refused and told me to wash my hands. I asked again and she declined. So I stopped asking. They did not clean under my nails and they did not massage my hands. My pedicure was rushed and poorly done. There was no callus removal as requested and brief massage.I've never had a worse pedicure. Also, one of my toenails was cut too short on the side and has been sore. I was charged $95 for this service. They take walkins and rush customers. Wish I had gone elsewhere. Will not return. read more

Would give you a zero, but I can't. So here's a 1. Hands down the worst nail experience i've ever had. First off, they used UV top coat as my base coat under the dipping powder that she used for acrylic powder. Second off, The nail tech continuously filed with the dremel on the same spots after I kept telling her it was burning. Her response was to hold her thumb over it to cool it down and then keep going. There are acrylic pieces still stuck under my nails despite me asking her to fix them. Twice. Absolutely zero acknowledgment of my visibly upset demeanor and tears from the burning. Nails of Alex was my hope for this city when it comes to nails. I guess it's back to St. Cloud I go. read more

Several people recommended Nails of Alex. I had my nails done while I was visiting Florida, and now had to find a place to upkeep them after returning home to Minnesota. I called and was able to come in same day, just a couple hours later, which was perfect. Upon arrival, I was quite impressed with their Covid precautions including clear divisions between customers and other customers and divisions between customers and staff. Kim did an amazing job on my nails, shaping and filling them. I'm in love with this unicorn nail color. The only thing that I was disappointed with that I assumed would be done, was they didn't push my cuticles back or trim them. So once I did, they immediately looked grown out, even though they were freshly done. It's definitely not a deal breaker though; I'll just push my cuticles back before I go in next time. Or get a manicure first, then ask for a fill. read more

Only place I'll go to get my nails done. They do a great job! We usually ask for Mimi and Kevin (they do a great job and their stations are by each other!) but everyone I've had does wonderfully. Always get exactly what I ask for and want. Prices are pretty standard for a nice nail salon. I prefer a more neutral pallet and they have a huge selection of colors. They're very knowledgeable in nail shapes and trends, so when you ask for a coffin nail/almond nail, they don't look at you like you're crazy. Pedicures are heavenly, and have massage chairs! Also have available spa add ons. I enjoy the lavender one! 10/10 would recommend this salon! read more

Reading a couple of these reviews I found myself wondering if they were really at Nails of Alex! This salon is clean and well kept. The staff is just wonderful. I have had manicures and pedicures by several of them. They treat me, a 73-year-old woman with not great nails, like a friend and valued customer. They do a great job. I think as with any personal service, if you convey what your wishes are, what you expect, they will accommodate you . Don't be late. They have a very disciplined schedule; and if you keep up your end of the appointment, they will keep theirs. They have been voted again this year the "Best Of" by our local newspaper. Many of their clientele are regular locals as well as summer residents and tourists who wouldn't think of going anywhere else. read more

I was surprised that my nail tech didn't remove the excess dip color around my nails. She just said 'you're done'. When I showed her what I meant she just looked at me. My usual salon in Minnetonka always uses does this. I wish they would require everyone to wash their hands before the service. read more

I'm town for a wedding and booked for a pedicure. Comfortable and clean. Very friendly. Did an excellent job. My favorite though was the personal text confirming my appt and the willingness to schedule for a little later in the morning. Sleep is important. My daughter is getting married in Alexandria at the end of this month. We live out of town. I am looking for a place to go and inquiring about prices so I can give her and the rest of the girls the information. This place looked very promising from the reviews I read on here. However, I called and asked about getting some pricing for a Gel manicure, etc and the man who answered the phone just kept asking how many people and when did I want to schedule for. I kept explaining that I wasn't sure how many - that first I wanted to get pricing to tell them so they can then decide. Also that it wouldn't be until the end of the month.
