Campsite

Absolute worst camping experience. The grounds are dusty, garbage just blowing around, and none of the guests are held accountable to any type of rules. Kids constantly running through your campsite yelling at the tops of their lungs, older kids in groups yelling profanities, I woke up to find someone parked a car directly behind my trailer in my campsite. Loud music and what can only be described as a "kegger" going on until 2:00am with kids still running around yelling and music blaring. There's a separate tent area that has abandoned vehicles on the side, like a junk yard. Pass this KOA and stay at a truck stop; it'll be cleaner, quieter, and probably safer.

We booked this place less than a day before we stayed there. Fortunately there was a really nice river view site available. We stayed in site 19 and it had a huge shade tree with picnic table under it and an amazing view of the river. Couldn't have been happier with our site. I saw some of the other sites and would have been a little less enthused if I had them. But basically the entire row of riverfront sites were very nice. I walked down and looked at them all and would have been happy in any one of them. The showers and bathrooms were nice. My kids enjoyed the playground and horseshoes. Pool was in good condition and the grounds were maintained well here. We were a little disappointed at the food section in the general store. There was plenty of empty space in the fridges for more food but they lacked some stuff we needed like bacon in the morning. We are typically able to get that at other KOAs of the same size. They offer pizzas for $12 that they cook. They are big enough to feed 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 toddler size kids. Nothing to write home about but gets you out of cooking a meal. Very thankful we found this place last minute.

We located this RV park online as they had availability for arrival on a Thursday/departure on a Friday. Contact was made and it went extremely well as they were very knowledgeable and recommended the best way to maneuver our long 5th wheel into a spot that was adjacent to the pond. It was super easy to find. Layout was well planned out. The spots were plentiful. The pond is amazing for dogs. The pathways around the park - including to the Yakima River were well kept. The facilities were great and their store is one of the best I've ever been in. Highly recommend this park! We will be back

There is a large pond in the park that you can use for calm water activities. Our grandsons had a blast making friends, cycling and paddle boarding. There is plenty to do right here at Whispering Pines. There is a bounce pad, two nice playgrounds, a dog area, and as I mentioned before, the pond. The sites are large, level and nestled amongst the trees. There is plenty of wildlife for your viewing enjoyment. The park does have many rules in place for everyone's safety; and they do drive around in their little carts to enforce them. *Mind your manners and you shouldn't have any problems.

Clean facilities| Great location to downtown…read more We rented a trailer and needed a place to stay that was not too far from amenities in Leavenworth. This was an excellent choice. This is a small little RV park and campground, but I love how the owners take excellent care of the place. One guy was always out planting and watering the plants and flowers. Another guy was literally cleaning the bathrooms several times in the day. The restrooms are nice and clean!! (Showers are available too here) The campsites are alright, but if you have preference and/or a group, I highly recommend getting the lots 31, 32, 33 area. Wow, more room, away from the main road, more trees, and a couple boulders to climb on. It looks bigger than the spot we had, which was spot 4, next to the restrooms. Firepits are very small, but we still used it to make s'mores. They also have a little enclosed basketball area. Sites 17-30 are basically next to the main road. You will hear the road noise, especially if you're camping in a tent, but I still like staying at this campground because there's not many other options for an RV park. Across the street is a gas station and Safeway. You're within a minute or two from downtown too. If you're into climbing, you're not that far from Icicle Creek climbing area either. We would stay here again with friends if we camped/rented a trailer again.

It's nothing special, but cost reflects that (so affordable!). We RV camped and found the water hookup was broken at our site. Also, it is extremely close to the main road which is very noisy. In all, gave 4 stars because I think the location beats all the rest if you want to walk downtown!

We stayed at this RV park for three nights last weekend. I'm giving it 3 stars rather than 4…read morebecause we were in the overflow area, which was basically a gravel parking lot with sites very close to each other. However, the main campground is much more wooded and pleasant (though the sites are still very close to each other.) I'd give it a 4 if we had stayed there. Pros: electricity, water and sewer were available at the site. The camp also has a pool (closed during these covid times), a small store, a restaurant, and it also looked like they sell propane on site though we didn't buy any. The park is in reasonable proximity to both Bumping Lake and Chinook Pass to the west and Naches and Yakima to the east. Cons: as I said, small sites and the overflow area was quite ugly. Also the men's bathroom is secured with a sliding chain safety lock which allows the door to open a bit before it engages. This allows someone outside to see you sitting in the throne when someone else tries to open the door. I don't know if the women's bathroom is the same way, but whoever thought that kind of lock was appropriate for a bathroom with no stalls or other privacy screens needs to try it once or twice and see how it feels. The price seemed pretty standard for RV parks with full hookups.
