I feel communication between you and the therapist BEFORE the service is very important! Chu, my therapist for the day- kneaded every right muscle. I wasn't expecting the first part of the session- where he CAREFULLY stretched out my leg joints. I guess I'd say it was like unfolding & folding your limbs and joints. It was much needed. Chu asked repeatedly during our session how the pressure was and asked if I was ok. I live in Southern California and have rode my motorcycle to South Dakota/ Idaho/ and Canada. Rubbing too hard and fast over the same place just doesn't feel good or relaxing, it was painful and I told him so but the pressure or pace never let up. I was pretty happy then when I first got a theraputic message from Nina. She is really, very good. Her sense of touch is unparalleled -- and I've seen a lot of therapists over the years. She seems to sense immediately where my 'hot' spots are that day and takes care of those first, allowing me to really relax for the majority of the session and I feel like, then, I get the most out of the time. And it's not just her "feel," which I'll say again, is remarkable. Her knowledge of skeletal and muscular anatomy is impressive. She's introduced me to concepts -- gently! -- that I didn't know about like negative pressure massage (cupping). And she has helpful suggestions for exercises and stretches you can throughout the day. These suggestions are always offered at the right time and there aren't too many of them. And they're offered in the right way, so you're not left with the feeling that your health problems are just because you're too lazy. And she doesn't talk too much during the massage!
