Unfortunately what I received instead was a consistent pattern of poor service, lack of accountability, and a practice that prioritizes VOLUME over patient well-being. I experienced so many issues with my Invisalign treatment. Multiple scans were done improperly significantly delaying my progress. Those errors were largely the result of an inattentive and poorly trained staff. One particularly disappointing incident involved dental glue being cured on my skin an avoidable mistake that should never occur in a professional clinical setting. Zero accountability was taken. I will say at one point there was a single staff member who stood out for her professionalism and care and she made a noticeable difference for me during her time there. She's the only reason I decided not to transfer care but she eventually left the practice which only emphasizes the ongoing issues with staff turnover. My appointments have been marked by disorganization and long wait times far beyond the scheduled appointment time. It's very much an assembly-line approach to patient care. The office always feels overcrowded and very rushed with little regard for individual attention. Rescheduling appointments was unnecessarily difficult and rigid. I was consistently met with inflexibility from the administrative side of the practice. Patient convenience is never a consideration. I also experienced significant billing issues. Automatic payments continued to be withdrawn from my account. It took multiple contacts with the office to resolve the issue and receive reimbursement. Dr. Johnson's demeanor shifted to one that felt increasingly indifferent and dismissive once I stopped responding to his insincere superficial interactions. It became clear that a genuine rapport and patient connection were not priorities for him. He didn't care about my case. My experience with Dr. Bret Johnson's practice was consistently substandard. Every single part of it. From clinical care to customer service. Every facet of my treatment fell short of reasonable expectations. I'm seriously disappointed. Orthodontic treatment is an investment of both time and financial resources and I expected a provider who is competent. I assumed that's what I was paying for. I wanted a second opinion, and I'm grateful I found this office! The dental office atmosphere felt warm and welcoming--not cold or sterile like many dental offices. The entire staff was friendly and genuinely kind. Tammy helped get me set up as a new patient and was amazing. She made me feel very comfortable during my perio charting, which not all offices do. As someone with some gum recession, I really appreciated that they take this seriously and track it closely. Dr. Eliassen was so wonderful. She was thorough, patient, and generous with her time. She walked me through my x-rays, explained everything clearly, and even fixed an enamel chip I had (which fixed the cold sensitivity that I was experiencing). Every single time I have been there, I felt that each one in the office cared for my dental health and wanted to provide the best services possible. In my opinion, they have exceeded my expectations especially when compared to the other dentists I used to go to until Integrated Dental Arts opened their doors around 1991. This latest yearly examination was, in many ways, more efficient due to the continued expertise of the staff from the front desk to the assistants for Dr. Hakes and Samantha, who did the scheduling for my next visit. All of them were not only efficiently performing their duties but were exceedingly professional in doing so. I cannot envision going anywhere else for my dental health needs.

I have had many dental issues over the years, and I have walked into his office embarrassed and anxious, only to have Dr. Kerst make me feel calm, respected, and cared for. That has meant a great deal to me. My daughter was born with congenitally missing teeth, and Dr. Kerst has taken beautiful care of her throughout all these years as well. One of the things I have always appreciated most about Latah Creek is that it felt like a family practice. We were never treated like a number. We felt like people who were known and cared about. Unfortunately, what happened on August 11,2026, completely changed that for me. My daughter, who is a college student, went in to have cavities treated. My husband and I were both working, and the office required her to pay $800--approximately half of the bill--before she could leave. I am listed as the guarantor and responsible party in their system. When my daughter called me afterward, she was extremely upset and crying, I felt so bad she was in this situation, I called my husband in tears, he works out of town and the last thing he wants to hear is that both of his girls are in tears because of a dentist office that we have trusted for years, the payment was taken from her account, essentially draining the money she had available as a college student. She said she felt like she was being detained. I know it's so hard to do any paperwork when you've been in the Dental chair and you're numb, that definitely made everything even worse. Those are the moments we need the most care when we're a little out of it. I was honestly shocked and heartbroken. After 10 years of being a patient and bringing my family there, I never expected my daughter to be put in that position. Regardless of the office's billing policies, I believe there was a much more compassionate way to handle the situation, especially when the responsible party was already on file. I want to make it clear that this is not a reflection of Dr. Kerst. He has always made me feel safe and comfortable, and he has taken wonderful care of my entire family. That is a huge reason this situation is so upsetting. Naomi and Tuesday at the front desk have also always been kind to us. Unfortunately, my experience with Audrey Collins at the front desk has damaged the trust I had in this practice. My daughter will not be returning, and I am honestly unsure whether I will continue as a patient myself. When I complained, they knocked off a few hundred dollars, but would not live up to their original estimate. There were no issues or complications, and they had no evidence I had ever been quoted more than the original $5,000. I call it "bait and switch" at best or "dishonest" at the least. Then, on the way home, another one came off. Then once home another one fell off! We live 3 hours away, so we had to come back a few days later to have them all put back on. His assistant said that since he was on the board that approves the authorization that it would look like he purposely said she needed work done so that he himself could approve the work and do it himself, making money. We waited a month for the appointment. Check to make sure this situation doesn't happen to you and you don't waste your time either , losing money at work, or have your child get their hopes up about getting braces.
