As far as care goes they seem knowledgeable and do a good job. (From what I can tell.... but time will tell as these are all initial appointments...) As far as respecting clients time not so much.... I always expect dental appointments to run long, but when I schedule an appointment at 8, I expect to been seen at 8, not 8:30. Three appointments and all three have been 20-45 minutes past the check in time. Once I was willing to forgive, twice I was annoyed, third time is unforgivable. I will say, I was told we never checked in to the 3rd appointment, but after waiting in line for ten minutes (it was very busy and the people ahead of us were not prepared. We were also fifteen minutes early because we have quite the drive and I don't like being late) spoke to a receptionist we had worked with at another location as well and she assured us we would be seen shortly, so on my end I did what I needed to do. Once back in the exam area we typically wait another 10-15 minutes. They seem to really struggle being ready to go and again all three times things were missing and they had to go looking for the supplies needed to complete the process.... Now it might be a bad time where they have a lot of new staff, but 3/3 tells me this is a systemic problem not an individual training issue. And the only staff we encountered more than once was the receptionist. We went to three different offices for our appointments so not a particular office either. I went in there just to get an exam and cleaning, but they told me how they couldn't see me because my gums were too bad and said I was in pain when I wasn't. Meanwhile I couldn't shake the feeling they didn't want me there as a result of me being on Medicaid. At the end of the day, if you're on Medicaid, don't even bother going here. read more

I will go where they are not pushy and actually consider people who work! If I don't cancel then clearly I know i have an appointment for my kids! Your schedulers are a mess. Granddaughter had appt at 430 on feb 7 at market location when arrived was told appt was 930 , we were sent away and my granddaughter WAS NOT SEEN AT ALL. Multiple calls to her dad saying she needed to reschedule, he schedules for today feb 17th at 9 am division location., received confirmation call the 14th. Arrived for appointment and was told my granddaughter Gianna Mewborn was seen the 7th...She was not. When son asked what was done that day, there was no answer, why? Because she was NOT SEEN on feb 7th, however my son was told a bill was sent...For what? No services were rendered and she has state dental. This is fraudulent billing and I will be contacting attorney General about this. Time was made to bring Gianna to 2 separate appointments that were confirmed however she WAS NOT SEEN. I wouldn't recommend this dentistry to anyone! They have lack of communication they don't care to listen in the back. My first visit was 5-2-25 and apparently my jaw tooth was infected and they never mentioned it to me yet they scheduled me shortly after on 5-21-25 to fill a couple small cavities on the side of the infection causing it to go full blown and still not mentioning it and not to mention the broke my tooth. Resulting in me going back in on 5-28-25 after having continuous pain and feeling like my tooth was broken and not being able to eat in that side. Just for the doctors to not care and shut me down then put false reports in their reports which is not ok at all. Office experience is very unorganized especially when you tell them you do not want to see the same doctor that calls your stupid and makes u feel as small as a pea. They need new doctors that are competent in their jobs and will take the time to listen to the patient and not make excuses for other dentists. Now I have to deal with their malpractice and I can assure this isnt over yet! On 6/22/24, after receiving a notice from WASCAP that my Medicaid coverage was ending on 6/30/24, I was advised by Jenn Blair, (my healthcare navigator at Support Services for Veterans Families, (a Goodwill Industries agency funded by the VA), to hurry and get the rest of my teeth pulled. She reviewed the benefits that my Medicare Advantage plan allowed for dentures and insisted that I get the extractions using the soon to expire Medicaid coverage so that the United Healthcare plan would cover the rest. I spoke to Apple Valley Dental and was assured that they would charge Medicaid for the extractions. The receptionist set an appointment for 6/27/24. When I got there the receptionist wanted to see my United Healthcare card. I asked her why explaining that I was told that Medicaid would be billed. She said, "Don't worry, billing will take care of that" I asked the dental assistant, RJ, to make sure Medicaid get's the bill due to United Healthcare will only be able to cover my dentures. He repeated verbatim the receptionist's phrase, "don't worry, billing will take care of that". The oral surgeon, Paul, was asked about my concern that Medicaid foot the bill for the extraction, he repeated their mantra, "don't worry, billing will take care of that, Next came the procedure. Probably due to my insistence on discussing the billing neither Paul nor RJ applied any local anesthetic prior to the 6-8 shots of numbing agent that he used. The resulting screams were heard throughout their complex which is quite large. Afterwards I thoughtfully asked Paul if the room was soundproof to which he replied, "It is". I found my way back to the front desk after approximately 100 steps through hallways and asked the receptionist, "what was all that shouting about?" She said, "I don't know but it must've been bad". The next day I called and ultimately was transferred to someone who said she was the director of their company. Francesca, after hearing about my billing concern said, "Unfortunately, that's not how it works". After telling her that four of her employees told me not to worry about it she replied, "those people don't work in billing". I told her that I was reporting her outfit to the Washington State Board of Health. Then I thoughtfully offered her the following, "Some of the folks I know in Spokane, why, if you consistently pull this garbage on them like you've done to me, you must be bulletproof. She predictably threatened to call SPD if I was ever spotted on her property Now, due to their lies I have to wait 11 more months before I can get dentures. That's when United Healthcare provides another $3,500 per annum for my teeth. read more

I have an 11 year old son, came in for a routine deep cleaning while at his visit, they broke a bracket, leaving an exposed wire, I was unaware of the situation and they sent him home like that. Then called to have them fix the wire no immediate response. They said they could not see him until his next schedule appointment. Two weeks out, the day of his appointment they called me at 7:30 in the morning and had to reschedule due to over scheduling, his appointment was at 10:30 in the morning. I had already taken the morning off of work and he had already missed the morning of school. I explained to them that he had an exposed wire and was in extreme discomfort. They did not listen to my concern and moved his appointment out another month.. I have called numerous times to speak to somebody about moving his appointment I never get a call back. read more

My father and I both had an appointment on the same day, and had to drive in, starting before sunrise, driving all day spending over $140 in gas to get there, only to both be cancelled on, BY THEM. It was the first time I had ever been there over a full hour ahead of my appointment time, too! I waited and asked to make sure they hadn't forgotten about me a while after my appointment time had passed. Then, just before closing time, now dark outside as it was when we began our trip, arriving back home at midnight. I was supposed to get a tooth pulled is all.. I had just finished my round of antibiotics and all, and now, have to do it all over again, whilst awaiting what remains of my infected tooth to be pulled. I refuse to go here again after this! The sheer level of incompetence I have encountered is beyond anything I've experienced in any dental office before. Literally everyone I have encountered there has no idea what is happening. Initial visit got off wrong by a tech who constantly had to stop and go ask the front desk what x-rays she was allowed by my insurance to take, so it took double the normal time it would have. Next the front desk, despite having my insurance for at least two weeks, could not get ahold of my insurance to check coverage, which you think would have been done ahead of time, but no. I saw the dentist for 2 minutes, who was pretty flippant and condescending, but whatever, that's most Dr's these days. Next, I'm told to schedule with the hygienist for a cleaning, I do that, for about two weeks after the initial appointment. Since I know they had issues getting ahold of my insurance, I called them twice and still no one got ahold of my insurance which seemed weird to me considering no other dental place had that problem and I called the number on the back of my card and had no issue getting ahold of someone. Next, I get a call two days before my hygiene appointment and telling me I had to cancel because the dentist wants me to see a hygienist. WHICH IS WHAT THE BLAZING APPT WAS FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE, when I say that, the girl says "well the hygienist will be bouncing around that day", YES BECAUSE THAT IS HER JOB AND YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT BEFORE YOU SCHEDULE SOMEBODY. So, I wanted to get my teeth cleaned before my vacation which isn't happening now, so I'm re-scheduled, called to verify the time and they put in the wrong appt slot, which is the second time that has happened. Went to cleaning, new staff all around chit chatting- took forever but just wanted it done, filled out ROI to send xrays to another dentist so I can transfer care after all this, filled out the form and selected the "I want to be contacted by a manager" box because of dissatisfaction and no one ever called, not surprised. I had high hopes that I would receive excellent care here. Much to my chagrin the technicians took a long time getting their equipment ready that we spent more than 30 minutes taking X-rays. The dentist did an adequate job for the cleaning except I felt the out of pocket payment was more than I wanted to dish out. I feel they like to charge their customers more for normal services compared to the offices I have visited. I believe if they spent a little less on the interiors they could have more room in their budgets to better serve customers. I do not have any plans to come back. read more

I had a massive amount of work done by this place in 2017-2019. All of it wrong. They kept telling me my teeth were great and nothing major and I was doing great. They did sooooo many fillings. Many of them stayed sensitive until this day. Some of the fell out. All of it was bunk. My mouth was actually a mess due to the fact that I had had weightloss surgery and a pregnancy one right after the other. Both wildly damaging to your teeth. This office is the reason that I am not terrified to go to the dentist anymore. I will never go to another office again as long as I can help it! Dr. Uso is so kind and understanding. He talked me about what he saw on my broken tooth and what options there are for me. He has so many people to help in a day and it means a lot that he was so kind and gave me dedicated time. The staff there is just top notch too! LeighAnn was the dental assistant who helped as well as Sarah the hygienist. They both talked me through each step on what was happening next and made me feel safe and respected. Their front desk staff is so amazing at their jobs too! Francesca helped schedule me for my next apt and I told her my scheduling limitations due to going back to college and we settled on a less then ideal time. Shortly after she called me back to let me know that there was a later time that opened up that would allow for more work to be done and fit my schedule better. First, the staff was 40 minutes late bringing us back and called my daughters back one at a time. Thankfully, my husband was with me or this would not have worked. We spent half the time waiting in hallways for X-rays, booths, and beds to open. Complete chaos. Our family was split up during the entire visit. Incredibly frustrating. I spent my time running back and forth between children trying to obtain the information needed. First visit here in hopes to find a good dentist. I had the worst experience here. A little back story, I had braces for 2 years and had them removed in June of 2021. Well I had no cavities which is great, but the hygienist said that the way one of my teeth is growing that I need it pulled, which I'm not doing if there is nothing wrong with the tooth. The second issue is that they said I can get braces AGAIN and then have an implant installed. I'm extremely upset with this visit because it seemed financially motivated. I read the past reviews from here, and honestly, this was not our experience. We have 4 kids and they are wonderful with all of them. Trying to get the entire brood out the door to make appointments on time is no easy feat, but if we're late, they don't make you feel 2 inches tall. They were kind and thorough with my kids-through both dental and orthodontic, and the wait time is barely a blip on my radar. Plus they have really cool video game stations to keep kiddos busy while we wait! words cannot express how irritated I am with this company right now. My son has an extra molar that is growing in on the roof of his mouth. It is putting pressure on his healthy adult molars and causing him a lot of pain. When we saw the oral surgeon a few months back, he assured us that we would have an appointment to get this removed in January and that it was fairly urgent. There is no communication in this place. They have called me multiple times offering me a February 13 surgery date and I have had to tell several different people. We are out of town the 13th through the 18th. I have requested they call me back with a different date and now they're telling me that we're going to have to be referred out because they don't have any openings . This has been going on for a couple months now and I am furious. I would think twice before switching to this dental and braces company there. Patient number is way too high and they can't manage and get the patients that they have in right now in a timely manner , but yet their advertising to get more people to come there and they can't take care of the ones they have already. my son should not be forced to be dealing with pain because of their lack of communication and scheduling if a referral was needed to have another office do it then that should've been done two months ago. This place is on overload do not take your children here unless you're OK repeating yourself constantly and being brushed to the side like your child's procedures are not important, if I wasn't stuck in a contract for braces with my son right now, I would've switched from these people months ago. I was hopeful the 5 star reviews outweighed the 1 stars; however, I suggest you not waste your time. I called yesterday to say I needed a new dentist as I had recently moved to Spokane Valley. I told them I had been diagnosed with two additional cavities by my previous dentist across the state. I offered to get the x-rays as I knew my insurance wouldn't cover another set. I was assured that was not necessary and they booked me for the next day - today. However after filling out paperwork, they prepared to take Xrays. I repeated my concerns about insurance covering the cost, and I was informed that they could not help me until I got my x-rays from my previous dentist. I woman came in very upset from what sounds like an extraction that had gotten infected. The person who came to talk to her IN THE WAITING ROOM berated her and literally called her a drug seeker in front of all the other patients waiting. Beware!!! I was told that I needed. Deep cleaning and not to worry since I had insurance it would be taken care of. I would only have to pay $100. I thought it weird that they would bring up having insurance that way but if I needed it then fine. They told me it would take about 2 hours and that I would have to get numbing shots in my mouth for it so make sure I eat before I come in. I did all they said and got to my apt and it took them about maybe 30 min from start to finish. I was confused so when she said she was done I thought ohh now we are going to numb my mouth. She got my things to see me out and I was like wait I was told this would be about 2 hours and you would have to numb my mouth. She said no my teeth were not that bad. She then looked like maybe she should have said that and then told me that I took the pain well so she didn't need to numb me. I have had my teeth cleaned before and trust me this was a normal cleaning that most of not all insurances cover. I then started to think man maybe they are charging me for things I don't need and are not getting. Fast forward I go in yesterday for another "cleaning" and was told I need to pay $78 first. i said for what and she said the cleaning was not a normal cleaning and that my insurance doesn't cover all of it. I was livid. Here I am having to take time off work for them to try to work me over again. No way. I told her that I don't understand this was supposed to be just a standard cleaning and my insurance covers that. She again explained it to me in words I couldnt understand. I told her forget it. I feel like they charge for things they don't do just because I had Insurance that would pay for it: the only good thing I can say is the staff there is excellent with kids but it's not worth the extra money they charge. Do NOT go here!!!! I went here 3 years ago and It's all a money game and about how many bodies they can rotate in and out. I had lots of work done here. Too many hands in one mouth. They filled a cavity in my front tooth and sent me out with 1 tooth waaay bigger than the other. I wish I was kidding. I cried all week until they could get me back in. The dental assistant listened to me patiently while I cried and explained and said she couldn't believe they couldn't tell and sent me out like that. She apologized and fixed it. I wish that was the worst. They did a root canal on my right K-9 tooth. The day after I got home I knew something was wrong. My face was swollen and the pain was excruciating. Called and they said, "oh nothing we can do, he just didn't get the whole root out, it'll die." It did die, after a week of misery. I've had a big zit like thing sticking out of my gum above that same k-9 tooth for 2 months now. Went to the dentist today. Come to find out this infection has just been building. I told him what they said 3 years ago and he said they didn't just leave some of the root, they didn't finish the root canal at all! Now I'm going to lose my tooth if I don't get into a surgeon and have the root canal redone and fixed. This is time off work and $1500+ outta my pocket to fix THEIR laziness and malpractice! I showed up with my daughter for a scheduled appointment and the place was closed. No notification to me that the appointment was cancelled, I had even gotten the reminder text so I know the appointment was scheduled. However, they blew me off, no call no show style. Even the hours sign on the door said the place should have been open but it was empty and phones were off. Waited for a bit to make sure it wasn't a late lunch, but no one came, answered the phone, or called me back after leaving a voicemail. After about a week, I FINALLY got a human when I called, who put me on hold for 10 minutes then told me the manager would call me back. The manager never did. We've called multiple times, left messages, and sent an email and STILL no response from them. It's been almost 2 weeks since Apple Valley blew my daughter's appointment off without notice and I STILL haven't gotten an email, a phonecall, an apology, or an explanation. It sure seems like Apple Valley doesn't care about their customers or their time. If you're looking for a dentist, look elsewhere. The flashy building and play area isn't worth having your time wasted. Edit: Another call and couple hours after posting, I finally got ahold of the manager. She was very apologetic and had an explanation for why the appt was canceled and why she hadn't gotten my Direct message, but no explanation for why they didn't call me back initially to reschedule after that Saturday. My son had a filling done on a molar, and a broken front tooth repaired last October at this place. Suddenly the front tooth is chipped at the bottom and causing him pain. He did nothing to cause this--clearly it wasn't bonded to his tooth well. He's also having horrid pain from the molar they filled. Couldn't get a return call from the manager. Spoke to Ashley, who tried to get some answers. They refused to look at their shoddy work on his teeth with a free exam. He aged out of his Medicaid coverage, so now we have to pay someone else to fix their horrible work. Sad this place has zero integrity or pride in their work. All of the staff for braces are incredibly kind. I have had to reschedule many appointments and they have been very flexible with me. They get me in when I need to have a wire trimmed, even when they are busy. I am very pleased with how they have taken care of my teeth as well. read more

They cancel appointments about 40% of the time and you are required to make appointments and then call to reconfirm or they cancel the appointment.
