I felt unwelcome. Trying out the treatment was very expensive for me because I have a high deductible plan, and I paid what I think is a lot of money for each session. I stopped going and am trying other treatments at home. The whole experience was so far from what I expected to have for something in the medical category. Felt more like the professional grade of cosmetology, as in a nail or hair salon. Wouldn't recommend. I got no relief from any treatment, not that my PT asked me how I felt about my experience or since my last visit.

One previous reviewer did mention a few things about the practice that I can confirm: appointments are made verbally; there are no follow up emails, and the billing is done by a billing company. If you're OK with this go with it - he's flexible and accommodating and open late for those of us who have inflexible work schedules. In my experience Brendon has always called me back, and he listened to me, and checked on me to see if I was doing OK. I also appreciate that he is a small local business and I am in my own private treatment room with personal attention (I have had PT in the past where one practitioner is seeing multiple people in the same room at the same time). My daughter has had neck pain in the last few days but it escalated around 4am this morning. She couldn't move her neck too much. So we began a search for local chiropractors who could possibly see her on an emergency basis this morning before her 10am class. We left a couple of messages on their voicemail before we took a Lyft to their office. Yelp showed their office opened at 7am. Jose, the security guard in the building was friendly as we waited patiently for a call back. The remote receptionist returned our call around 7:30am and said the earliest appt would be 8:40am. We took it and waited patiently... IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! Colleen gave my daughter: Exam Adjustment Massage Laser red light Dry needle acupuncture ... exercises to do at home. She said that she would like to see her again in a couple of days. My daughter's neck flexibility and SMILE at the end of this appointment said it all. We left their office by 9:35am and my daughter made it to her 10am class on time! Colleen was friendly, professional, attentive, thorough, intelligent and experienced. Aquatic PT - Broken water heater in pool (no warning), dangerous for patients…read more I'd like to say that I have had a great experience at the Boston Sports Medicine location in Davis Square. This review is only for the aquatic PT/Kristen, at the Allston location. I made an appointment for aquatic PT this December. Since it takes me an hour to travel to Allston, I booked a few weeks in advance to get an appointment after work hours. I wasn't told at any time in advance that the pool water heater does not work properly. (Approximately 90 degrees is standard for aquatic PT and the BSM Allston website says that the pool is always kept at 88-90 degrees.) Even directly before I got in the water, Kristen emphasized that the pool was heated. It was clear when I got in the water that it was below room temperature; I would estimate 60 degrees. Seconds later, after I got in the water and commented on the cold temperature, Kristen said that the pool doesn't heat fully in winter and other patients regularly bring long sleeved shirts to wear in the pool. Kristen told me the heat was set to 92. She said she turned it up at my request, but the water remained extremely cold. I wish I had been told about this issue when making the appointment as I would never have come in to begin with. The next day I woke up with very painful muscle spasms that have not alleviated days later. I made calls to other physical therapists the next day, but I will now have to wait over a month to get an aquatic PT appointment elsewhere. The PT said she had other aquatic therapy patients who have the same muscular concern I came in for, so I thought it would be safe to stay in the pool despite the discomfort. I told her how cold it was and my concerns of potential muscle spasms, and I was shivering intensely and she didn't seem to care. She didn't check how cold the water felt at any point, or express any compassion. I'm so upset by how I was treated. I am struggling greatly with the resulting spasms, which would have been entirely preventable if BSM Allston had been honest and straightforward about their facilities. They absolutely should not be offering aquatic PT under these conditions, let alone without telling patients until they're in the pool.

She doesn't rush me, but doesn't let me slack either. You can tell she's knowledgeable. I feel very confident being treated by her. This is the only place around here with Aquatic therapy (1 person pool with treadmill). Last place I went to was in Waltham in a shared pool, where the kids are jumping over you. I certainly appreciate this aquatic therapy in a private setting. If you are in need of PT, certainly give this place a try! Ask for Aisling or any of the wonderful staff, I have also worked with Caylie (spelling?) Who's also awesome. They have plenty of free parking as well.
