Recently Dr. Murphy has been on my mind because I lost my mom, brother and aunt in May to COVID…read more Dr. Murphy was a young doctor at UCLA and I was going through some really difficult health issues and he was my hero. We lost touch when he moved up North but I can honestly say he was the best doctor and I really doubt he has changed. I would so love to connect with him again to just say "hello". I was working in TV production for years and have been a psychotherapist in Pasadena for over 12 yrs. I read some of these reviews and have no idea how he has been doing since the 90's but I do know how the medical field has changed and how it's impossible with insurance companies and agencies, schools... so much about the bottom dollar and we are losing great doctors. So Tim if you read this, I wanted to say hello and hope you are doing well, staying safe from COVID. It's been a nightmare for my family but thanks to you suggested therapy with Janina so many years ago, I have learned resiliency. I can't believe I became a therapist. If you or a staff of yours sees this, please contact me to say hello. 818-395-8066 Joanne (Diaz) Koegl

If anyone is looking for DR. MURPHY, he is in Mill Valley…read more It's awful what has happened with the moving around from Prima that became UCSF and then back to Sutter; he's back in private practice and taking new patients. When I went to his new office he was greeted by every patient with hugs, tears and gratitude; Dr. Murphy didn't abandon his patients as these large companies would have you believe. I hope he can reclaim his NAME on YELP. Here's the information for his office: Lynnette, We are moving! Effective March 2nd, 2020 the office will be located at 279 Miller Avenue in Mill Valley. We ask that patients use street parking and reserve the lot behind the building for our patients with a disability or mobility issues. The office will be closed February 28th, 2020 to accommodate the move. We look forward to seeing you in our new office. Please contact us if you have any questions at 415-388-2801.

The NP was 30 minutes late and I can see why as she is only glued to the screen taking in more non related information. while also reciting other non related medical trends. I never received the simple treatment I came in for. I would be horrified to actually need medical treatment from this office. This office is a Poster Child for how lost our medical system is.

Mediated and rationed health care is alive and well in Marin County. The young doctor I got doesn't seem to have read my file or done any reading on my conditions, and outright dismissed several suggestions I made. It felt like "you're old get over it", kind of deal. I have several chronic conditions, including a serious side effect from a medicine prescribed by my endocrinologist, who also left the practice shortly after accepting me as a patient. I have received virtually no help in managing them, instead being bounced from specialist to specialist; I might as well not have a PCP. My sense is that these PCP's are seeing so many patients, and given so little time to consider or discuss, that they aren't able to keep up with driving the bus on coordinating patient care. Add to that their terrible phone system, and what seem to be poorly trained office and insurance teams, and I'm sad to say that I suggest you get health care at a different practice.

The receptionist was wonderful from booking the appointment to checking in, it was a breeze…read more I went to this place on the suggestion of my primary care office due to a reaction from a pneumonia vaccination I had on Wednesday. I'd used ice, benadryl cream, taken my prescribed anti inflammatory medications, and then used heat per the nurses advice at my PCP's office. THEY told me if the injection site continues to get bigger to go to Urgent Care. I marked my arm in the morning to keep an eye on it, the area grew from 3 inches to 4 in about an hour, the injection site is hard, hot, and itching. The person who "treated" me suggested ibuprofen (I'm already on a prescription anti inflammatory medication) and hydrocortisone cream (Benedryl) and marked my arm again. She said if it gets worse go to the ER!!! WHAT?? I went there for treatment as my PCP suggested due to my complex medical history. Let me be clear, this was not treatment, this could have been an advice line call. They shouldn't bill my insurance or me for this visit.

Forty-five minutes later we were directed to come in to an inner office where we waited another ten minutes. Finally we were greeted by a physician's assistant who could not help us and told us to go to the emergency. We strongly recommend you avoid this place. It is not safe to go there.

I walked up to the counter and stated I'd fallen, that my dog was locked in my car, and asked if there was currently much wait time. The paragon of empathy behind the counter said "May I have your ID and medical insurance card?" I was then moved to the next paragon of empathy who looked me up and stated I had an unpaid bill and would I like to settle that now? I responded I'd not received a bill. She said "Well, we sent one." Then, I waited. Finally, paragon #2 stood up and said since I'd sustained a head injury, they would not see me, and said I should DRIVE MYSELF to the ER, at Novato or Kentfield. Avoid this place like the plague.

The man at the front desk was extremely rude to me and kept interrupting me over and over again telling me to wait outside and would not let me get a word in to explain the situation. I completely understand the reasoning for being outside but I did not appreciate the way I was spoken to and felt greatly disrespected by this man. I cannot stress how upsetting it was to have this interaction. He needs to work on being kinder and more welcoming if he is going to be the one at the front desk. I ended up leaving and walking out before my appointment because I wasn't going to sit there and be treated like that. I hope that he at least gets spoken to about this. Will never come back here again.
