This place is shady. I went for a DMV physical and I felt like I basically bribed them for it. I paid 100 bucks cash because they don't take insurance for DMV physicals and was out the door with my paperwork in about 5 minutes. I didn't see a doctor, I think it was a nurse practitioner and he just checked through the boxes without examining me at all. I actually answered some of the questions on my portion truthfully and he basically told me that it was better to lie on the forms. I guess for some people that works but I would rather have a thorough legit exam. read more

I am from the Peninsula, and have recently moved to the Sonoma County. I am not at all shy to say I am a snob when it comes to choosing physicians. There is no price on your health. Dr. Strange is in one word a GIFT; to the medical industry. He is knowledgeable, intelligent, compassionate, kind and professional. His main priority is his patient's well being. The way it always should be and sadly is hardly ever the case these days. Dr. Strange reassured me he will not give up until we figure out what the heck is wrong with me. He has been compassionate and very thorough every step of the way. His front desk team and his medical assistant are a joy to talk with and very kind. Especially Janet. She made few appointments for me to protect me from the chaos I would have had to go through to find the right specialists. WITH DR. STRANGE YOU ARE AN INDIVIDUAL AND NOT A NUMBER! Dr. Julienne Tropel is the best doctor I've ever seen, hands down. Most doctors will half-listen to an explanation of symptoms, do some cursory diagnostics and then rush you out of the office with a handful of prescriptions to try - usually antibiotics. When that doesn't work and you go back in, it's a repeat of the first visit, but this time NEW antibiotics! Maybe you then see a few specialists who prescribe more drugs (i.e. more antibiotics). Eventually someone realizes that you're not responding to the antibiotics, in fact, they're no longer sure what the original problem was, but it's plain to see that you're now having an adverse reaction to longterm use of antibiotics... Derp. Dr. Tropel breaks this cycle with an amazing new and cutting-edge medical practice taught only in the top-notch medical schools: LISTENING. She listens, takes time understanding your issues holistically and then offers solutions based on her assessment. She's not afraid of alternative therapies (crazy things like - altering your diet or taking probiotics, gasp!) and she doesn't jump to quick conclusions or the prescription pad. She is smart, capable and caring. In fact, her approach to bedside manner is an art-form - Because Dr. Tropel consistently treats you like a human being that she genuinely cares about. You may be asking yourself, 'Isn't this what all doctors are supposed to be like?' Well, yes, but honestly how often have you met a doctor that actually does this and isn't just phoning it in? I can tell you from experience that finding a Dr. Tropel is like finding a unicorn. I only wish she was also a pediatrician so that I could bring my kids to her as well. I scheduled a wellness appointment with Dr. Strange after recently moving to Petaluma. I have lived in multiple states over the last few years and had not had luck with finding a doctor that was on par with my former primary care physician. Dr. Strange was outstanding. He was thorough and direct. In fact, He recommended a dietary supplement that has dramatically improved a long-term chronic condition. I highly recommend Dr. Strange. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. I finally pulled my CT scan report and images when I was going to see an awesome doctor up in Santa Rosa. Took a peek and the results were OBVIOUSLY not "normal". My appt was to be set up after i ran out of BP pills, i stated i needed to see a doctor before that happened, to no avail, refused to refill prescription,refused to give me an appt before i ran out, and office staff just gave me the runaround. Made a new appt. with a new Doctor in a new office. I'll take my insurance and dignity elsewhere ! only giving one star because it's mandatory. I guess there timeline is more important than a patient's health. read more

After a year of working with an AMAZING doctor, nurses and front area staff, I am DEVASTATED to report that their billing is TERRIBLE! I have been having problems getting a bill paid. Turns out they completed a pre-existing conditions form incorrect (mark "yes" on if he had treated us before this initial appt, which is NOT TRUE). So the insurance kept kicking it back because of this form. After a YEAR of fighting the INSURANCE, I find out it is the office! So both my husband and I have been sent to collections (got his pulled out, and only just found out mine was there, as assumed it had been taken care of). Once we figured out that it was their clerical error, I was told by Marlow that she would inform billing that it was their error and the insurance is re-processing the claims. This was on November 5th (About a MONTH from when she said she would take care of it, and when I called weeks before then, I can a BS excuse and no answers). YESTERDAY MY HUSBAND GETS A CALL FROM BILLING!! He tells them what we were told about Marlow telling them about the error. They tell him there is nothing to indicate the validity of his information. Today I call Marlow and GET NO WHERE! She CLAIMS to have called off the dogs, but I am still in collections and hubby is still getting threatening bill calls. I am getting so frustrated by this BS, that is COMPLETELY THEIR FAULT and she is not listening to me. She keeps telling me to call the insurance. WHY??? They are not the ones calling us, HER BILLING DEPT IS! She just kept deflecting and passing the buck! THEN she tells me this is not even her dept! So why the heck would she call me in July to tell me it was outstanding, and then send me to collections after I told her the insurance promised me they were working on it, THEN take my call when I found out it was their paperwork error, and ASSURE me she was working it? This is COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT AND UNACCEPTABLE. I feel like I need to find a NEW doctor because of their internal BS. I am now in a terrible place of continuing to work with such a horrible person and such an amazing doctor and another staff! I have had SEVERAL experiences with medical records (AMAZING, WONDERFUL) and the front desk for scheduling and other stuff (Again, WONDERFUL AND AMAZING) and the nurses (Some of the BEST nurses EVER) and Dr. Strange (My all time favorite doctor! Willing to listen, willing to explain, and willing to work WITH me)... so do I drop them all because of this inexcusable indecent that has absorbed more hours then the rest of my experiences? Caused me more tears, frustrations and anxiety then anyone has EVER done so in ANY professional office I have EVER dealt with in my ENTIRE life? I am at a loss as to how to proceed from here. I fear that sharing this with the world might make the decision for me. But I should not have to keep silent, when they make NO effort to fix THEIR error. Now I will slink off and lick my wounds, and pray that this will spur them into resolving this... post haste. read more

I took my seven year old son to see Dr. Strange today for the first time. He was absolutely amazing with him and explained things and even pulled up pictures showing my son what was going on inside. Great doctor! I highly recommend him and the staff was great also! read more

I was looking for a doctor, and I decided on Dr. Strange based on a picture from the St. Joseph's website. I called for an appointment last week and the office staff was very professional and friendly. I arrived a little late for my appointment, so they made me reschedule which has never happened to me before. I had my appointment this morning and I found Dr. Strange very likeable and professional (young!). I would say my initial experience was very good. I brought in some supplements that I have been taking, and Dr. Strange was very open and not close-minded about supplements. So I would recommend the office. read more

My experiences with Dr. Strange and the El Rose medical group have been absolutely horrible. They never called me back for critical lab results, I had to call them. I finally got an answer a week and a half later. They are terrible at follow ups and inconsistent. They screwed up my scheduled appointment twice. They shove religious views into my face. I WAS DENIED BIRTH CONTROL because it is a "catholic establishment." Last time I checked, women have rights! I don't go to the doctor to listen to religious garbage, I go there for medical treatment. Their opinion of my personal life should not be an issue. They are incredibly rude. Dr Strange smugly laughed when he said my insurance claim was denied. Which turned out to be a blatant lie when I contacted my medical insurance company... Long story short, rude, unprofessional, lying bigots. I will never recommend this establishment. read more

Don't expect privacy here. Not only are you asked to write your name down when you check in, but if they ask your name and you tell them only your first, they will say your last name out loud as a question in response, for all to hear. While I was there, the lady at the front desk was on the phone apparently on a personal call, giving her credit card information out loud for all to hear, I'm sure she'd do the same with yours. Originally had not so bad of an experience, came back with chronic pain and an ear infection and was told to pick between the two for which one i want to be seen for? also that i cannot come in same day for the other problem. Very short appointment, not a lot of effort made and very upset i was sent out with little to no help from Dr Strange. My family and I recently relocated to Petaluma (very friendly town). Not knowing any one and having no idea where to find a good family doctor I went online and decided to try Dr. Strange . This is after trying Petaluma Health center, and having a horriable experience where I felt rushed and not really listened to or cared about. I'v actually never wrote a review before but because I had such a great experience with Dr. Strange I wanted to pass it on. Dr. Strange was great, very thorough, took his time to explain to me exactly what was going on with me. He gave me many things to do to help my situation. He is compassionate and seems to truly care, even calling me after a few days to see if I felt better, which I am so happy to say I did! I moved to Petaluma and my new insurance here assigned me to Dr. Strange, so i saw him knowing i could change if i didn't like him. He was great. I had an open sore on my foot that wouldn't heal, and he came up with a treatment that had it like new in a couple of weeks. Also, he's relaxed and friendly, and i like that, too. On a subsequent visit, he diagnosed a problem with my digestive system that was so new that i had not yet felt any symptoms. Great catch! Good doctor. read more

I had a terrific experience with Dr. Lozanov. He was an easy and engaging doctor, who made the visit as quick as possible without making me feel ignored. I am new in town and was nervous about finding a doctor that I liked---he was terrific. My only complaint is that it is a family practice and they do not like to see babies. I have a 6 mth old and it would be so nice if I could bring him in as well! read more

My review is solely on Elanore. I'm a 30 yr old very pale female. I noticed one day while I was getting dressed that I had a NEW freckle/mole on my leg. Adults should not be growing NEW moles. I was concerned so I made an appointment with Elanore so she could write me a referral to a dermatologist (who I just wrote a review on - HORRIBLE) When I came to my appointment and showed her my leg she just brushed it off as if it were nothing! She showed no concern and told me I didn't need to see a dermatologist. She made the comment that she "gets new moles all the time". I then asked her if she ever gets them checked out and she said "I check them out." So to "make me happy" she put in a referral for me anyway. I went to the (terrible) dermatologist and had the growth biopsied and it came back PRE CANCEROUS!!! In other words - if I had listened to Elanore and not worried about it, in a few years I would have been a skin cancer patient. She needs to lose her license and retire already! I also reported her to my insurance and advised them to remove her from the network. read more
