Play at Ellsworth a couple of times a week. Great course, fast greens. Not an easy layout but fair and challenging. With 5 tees you can make the course fit your game. Very professional staff. Great burgers and sandwiches. read more

While this is a nice golf course for the price and always well groomed. It's a lawless jungle and somewhat of a shit show. Apparently someone in charge has determined that carts do not go out past 5:45. So my group of 4 on Monday had arrived a little after 5:45 and the cart boy stated that we can't use the carts because of the rules. Fair enough. So we set out on foot and managed to play 5 holes before we catch a group (a 5-some and a 3-some who are in a "league together, which leagues a start at 4 and play 9 holes) who are extremely inconsiderate and rude (I believed they jumped in front of us). So somehow at 7:40ish we managed to catch this "league". All that to say, the people that play this course have no courtesy and are inconsiderate of others (a week before my friend and I were stuck behind a 6-some who let no one play through!) If this place is to flourish or be respectable the staff here needs to get the players here in control. Hole hopping and groups of more than 4 are far more common than they should be, and that's just not ok. Anyways all that to say read more

I'll start by saying this is not the first negative experience we've had here, but decided to give it another chance because the course itself is nice. My brothers arrived about 15 minutes before me and checked in/ paid. My brother had mentioned he paid for my round but I needed to get golf balls so I went in to purchase those. When I went in the gentleman at the counter greeted me with a rude attitude. He then proceeded to make snarky comments and refused to provide me with a receipt for my round of golf which he made me pay for claiming nobody had paid yet. When I met up with my brothers they informed me that he was very rude with them and in fact stormed out of the clubhouse when told we had a group of 3 instead of 2 (course was wide open). Needless to say this rude gentleman has lost our business and we won't be returning despite the course being great. read more

Our experience at Ellsworth Meadows has been nothing but positive. We have played many rounds there and have encountered courteous and pleasant personnel and fellow players. Ellsworth is a very nice muni golf course owned by the city of Hudson. It has been ranked in the top 100 golf courses in Ohio. It is a long, hard course that takes time and skill to complete. There are a couple of large water features found on the course, which can really affect your score. It is not an easy course, so bring your best game. I've only played the front 9, so I can't say anything about the back. Ellsworth Meadows is a very nice muni course that I highly recommend if you're a good golfer. read more

I've played here at least once a year for the past decade. The conditions have always been very good with my only complaint being that it sometimes hold water on certain holes. The greens are not overly fast nor overtly tricky. Pay attention to the blind shots, your line is critical on those holes. #17 is a signature hole. Always, ALWAYS attempt to go over the pond, it's the only way to maximize the fun of the hole. When on the green of #17, look across the pond and take a picture of the other 3 holes in view. Some water is not in view when taking your shots, but usually only comes into play if you hit it off the fairway. It's a fun round with good food in the clubhouse. read more

Ellsworth Meadows is run by the city, so I should have known to expect weird rules or regulations, being government ran. I wanted to take my daughter with me to play nine holes and was told she could not ride along because she was under 5 years old. I was told it was the city solicitors recommendation. After contacting the sitting city councilman on the golf board I got the typical government run around how they are protecting kids. I dont need the government to tell me how to raise my kid. I found six other public courses in the area and one municipal course that have no problem allowing her to go along. So if you want to take you kids somewhere to play golf stay away from this place. read more

My wife and I golfed here on June 16, 2014. The course is poorly maintained, BUT, the golf etiquette shown by the golfers is even worse. We were stuck behind a foursome who never allowed our twosome to play through. They did allow a pair of two men to play through. They also never replaced any divots nor did then rake the sand that they played. When I told the pro shop manager, he simply rolled his eyes and said, "They are in a league and you can't play through." well why is it the two gentlemen played through? As I said, the sand traps were terribly kept and the course overall needed maintenance. don't play here. AND... we were not allowed to take the cart into the parking lot to load and unload our clubs. The management said it was a liability issue. My wife and I have played courses all across the US and this is the first course where we could not take the cart into the parking lot. read more
