While Mike was the most expensive, we thought he seemed knowledgeable so we moved ahead with his firm. We were scheduled to have the install done the first of August, so planned other work around his schedule. Summer 2017 was unusually rainy, and because we live near a natural wetland we had some water issues on one side of the house. In order to not damage the lawn, I asked Mike to use the access on the other side of the house (which was actually closer to the old/proposed deck). He literally threw a fit and refused. When my husband pressed the issue, Mike informed us we would need to pay 90% of the cost of the deck ($40K) in cash the day he started. He also said that he is not responsible for any property damage caused by his crews and he would be using a bobcat anywhere he liked. This all came down the week before he was to start our project. Needless to say my husband was less than pleased, and after contacting a lawyer to speak with Mr. Jansen (who refused to return our deposit of several thousand dollars), our money was returned and we parted ways. However, we wasted a whole summer dealing with this less than reputable individual. Do yourself a favor and pass Mike Jansen Decks over, he's not interested in customer service and you will pay for any damage he does to your property--its in the contract.

They were one of 4 contractors that we recently bid…read moreout for a tile and closet addition project to our home and we ended up selecting him based on price and overall first impression. He showed up at the exact time for the bidding process and returned our call quickly when we first contacted him. Don't you hate when contractors tell you that they will finish in a certain amount of time and then suddenly it's 3x longer? Justin and his team worked consecutively in our home for 3.5 days (from 8am-5pm every day) and were finished much sooner than what other companies were telling us. (Keep in mind, those other companies were much higher priced) There was a snag in the project when we discovered a small mold spot in our bathroom, but Justin was happy to remove it, replace the plywood, and cover it with sealant. Additionally, we asked him to move an outlet around the closet he was building and he did it without any hesitation. BONUS Cleanliness: The first day they came, he laid down plastic covering on our carpet because it had just snowed and they knew they could potentially track dirty snow into our house every time they came in and out. When they did finally remove the plastic covering, they vacuumed as best they could to return our house back to normal. He even asked if we had a broom so he could sweep all the sand they tracked in! Friendliness/Approachability: Justin was SUCH an easy guy to work with. He did a great job of explaining the work they did and always made sure to give us informed options when we had decisions to make. Even with the mold and asking for an outlet cover to be added, he never complained or showed any signs of annoyance. Our 3 and 5-year-old daughters even enjoyed talking to him and his guys and share about their days at school. I've never been more impressed when working with a contractor and will continue to choose Justin for any future home projects!!! Give him a call, you absolutely will not regret it.

He didn't make me feel stupid for asking all kinds of questions. As for the roofers, they were amazing. They showed up first thing in the morning. They had to remove a couple layers of shingles and replace a bunch of decking. And they were still completely finished in one day. Amazing! They made sure everything was nicely cleaned up. The gutters were completed on a different day. Once again the people showed up first thing in the morning and were completed before dinner time. I wholeheartedly recommend Home Pride!! After the job was done, I spoke to the owner Chris Wyman about the many issues I was not happy about. Including: absolutely nothing was covered with a tarp when they painted so paint got on all surfaces including all over my leather couch (see photo), carpet, dressers, countertops, and flooring. When I explained this to the owner, he took zero responsibility and blamed all of the paint splatter on his assistant who he claimed he had fired in the past. I know his assistant wasn't the only one who did not protect the surfaces with a tarp because there was paint splatter on various surfaces in rooms that the owner Chris also painted. The painters did not tape back the carpet that was on the steps either. When painting the baseboard, they painted on walls I had already painted myself. The professionalism of this company is also poor. We had a security system in the home that should have been obvious to these painters. These painters decided to talk about myself while my home security system could hear them. Saying "yeah she's complaining about everything" when I had only asked them to paint a small area in the bathroom that wasn't covered with the first coat of paint and of course swearing like sailors (which I guess could be expected between two men). While the owner gave me a whole $50 off of the cost to paint most of the house, it took me 5 hours to clean up after these painters. I had to scrub all of the surfaces that paint splatter covered. Imagine trying to scrape 1000's of paint splatter bits off of your floors with your finger nail for hours on end and not being able to remove all of it. Cutting bits out of your carpet because of white paint droplets all over it. The disrespect for their customers and the customer's belongings truly amazed me. One of the worst company's I've ever dealt with.

I was told they had just picked the materials up and would be on their way. The receptionist from Do All called and I expressed that I was angry and when asked what could be done to make it right I asked that they come, do the work and to just stay out of my way. Minutes later the installers called to tell me he did not want to do the work. He yelled at me and acted as though he was doing me a favor for coming out on a Saturday (which they only ever offered a Saturday appointment) and it being a the holidays (December 5 is not a holiday) I should be more appreciative of him. To summarize, Do All Handyman and Remodeling LLC, is unprofessional and the staff are rude. I will make sure to tell everyone I know how disgusting it was having to deal with them.
