Love that the small dog park and big dog park are the same size and that they are right next to each other so the dogs can run back and forth across the fence with each other. There is plenty of parking for the dog park which is great and most people know to drive slow and carefully in the area. There is water, but with covid, it is best to bring your own water. We love that the whole area is grass but there are a few spots that get dug out by the doggos. Our pup loves it here and loves seeing all the dogs. Most people are doing a great job of social distancing as well. read more

This park is huge! I only came to go to the dog park, I've heard great things. When I drove in I was shocked at the baseball fields, skate park, rolling hills, amphitheater, and more! The dog park was gigantic and needless to say the nicest I've been to in Connecticut so far. There's tons of room for dogs to run, lots of friendly people and friendly dogs for the most part. My girl had so much fun running around with the dogs and made some dog friends. The park was clean and peaceful, running water for the dogs. I could sit there for hours, it was so tranquil!!! It's a decently sized park when you drive into it. Parking lot is decently sized. We decided to check it out after going to Dinosaur State Park. Its good for a local but not much of a tourist attraction. They have a public pool. They charge $2 for residents and $5 for visitors. My daughter was 1 year too old for the kiddie pool and too young to swim by herself in the full size pool so we were kind of forced to go swimming too and pay $15 (yikes). They didnt mention that they were going to do lifeguard drills when paying at right before 3PM so we had wait 15 minutes to swim (bummed) The changing room/bathrooms have the door propped open so there is no privacy. Inside you have to get changed in an open area unless the one bathroom stall is open (at least for mens room). People set up to sign up/collect money and people standing near that area can see right inside where sinks/closed stall is. The pool is nice though. Its a good size pool and it goes from 3ft to 9ft. So I enjoyed it once I got to use it. The playground is okay. Not as big as some of parks closer to home but they do have this cool spinning seat thing. I spun my daughter around in it and I loved it. They have two sets of swings so there a good amount of space for people to swing. They have this little area for babies to play but the stuff in that area isn't in the best condition anymore. They have a baseball field and a basketball court so that is pretty good . If I had a basketball I would of definetly brought my daughter over to play. I don't think I'll go back again but it was an okay experience to help pass the time before eating dinner. read more

Elm Ridge Park - Not Just For Those Who Bark The entrance to this park is at the intersection of Bailey Road and Elm Street. When entering this park you will be greated with with 2 parking lots, 2 baseball fields, 1 pool, 1 covered picnic area, and 2 playgrounds, 1 sand play area, and 2 sets of swings. There are several Porta Potties distributed throughout the park to help you with your bio needs. Further into the park you will discover 1 Astro Turf field, 1 skate park, and a dog park with separate large and small breed areas. The playground area has a play structure for 2-5 year olds and a play structure for 5-12 year olds. In between these 2 play structures is a sand play area that has some permanent fixtures to play in the sand with. The most impressive of which is the excavation tool that little ones can sit on and operate like an excavator operator. There is a set of standard swings near the sand area and a set of toddler swings near the covered picnic area. If you or your little one(s) get hot here you can take a break on the bench under the tree between the 2 play structures or you can head over to the covered picnic area to have a seat and enjoy some shade. The Astro Turf field is by reservation only so don't just stroll in and start up a game. Per the signage the Rocky Hill police will be watching you. The skate park has 1 curved grind bar, 1 large drop in ramp, 1 quarter pipe, 1 fly box with a grind bar attached, and 1 curved grind box. This place has plenty of room to maneuver and find a line to work on. The dog park is past the skate park and is so popular it is listed on the parks entrance sign. Large and small breeds welcome here so bring your pooch(es) and let them have some fun too. The pool is next to the front parking lot and playgrounds. Didn't spend any time here but it looked well kept and a little on the small side. There is bike rack located here in case you need to utilize one. Overall this place seemed like the go-to location in Rocky Hill for the entire family to spend some time being active outside. Our son needed serveral "five more minutes" before we could leave the playground area. Whether you're a local or just in town for a day or so, you should check this place out if you enjoy spending time at the park. read more

This is a large dog park for many doggies friends to romp and play! It is well maintained and they offer several places where doggie bags and disposables are placed. There are also many trails you can walk with your dog some along the river. There are clean bathrooms accessible. The entire area is a great way to spend time with your family as well as your companion animal! read more

1.) Just to warm you up: Wait a minute, I haven't done a review on this place? No seriously, no review on this place? Oh I know why, because they only had one set for the park itself. 2.) What your eyes may see: A kid's playscape, swimming pool, pavilion area with grills, baseball fields, basketball court, half pipes for skaters, amphitheater and dog park. This place has a nice landscape. Looks pretty open and clean. Gotta love this area. It's like in a suburban residential area, you can see the houses and all with cars constantly passing on a sort of main street. A.) Kid's playscape: They have two areas - one for toddlers and the other area for 5 and up. Near the pavilion there are toddler swings. It's kind of interesting how they have the swings spread out, it's almost like it's too far, but then again, humans need exercise. B.) Swimming pool: C.) Pavilion area: Nice sized place that could seat at least 50 to 70 people. There are about 2, maybe 3 grills there for people to use. D.) Baseball fields: There are about two nice kid sized baseball fields that feature actual games there. E.) Basketball court: Comes equipped with two basketball hopes, so full court. F.) Skate park: There's a nice little skate park equipped with half pipes, ramps and such for your skateboarding desires. G.) Amphitheater: Apparently they host events here, I may have witness an almost ending show, but the amphitheater itself seems pretty nice, though there are no seats, it's more like lawn seating and you'd have to come there with your beach chair. H.) Dog Park: This is what I love. There are two areas - one for the small dogs and the other for the large dogs. This place may not have much shading for you or your dog, but there are a few park benches, hoses to wash off your dog, and a wonderful water fountain where you (adult height) and dog (infant/dog height) can drink from. There are about 2 or 3 dog trash points to dispose of your dog's #2's, and the park seems to provide the public with toys. There once use to be a trash can that had a whole bunch of toys in them, but I guess someone took advantage of that. I love the owners who come here. They seem to have a good grasp of intervention whenever their dog(s) act up, which is pretty rare. Also a Dog Warden comes in there to inspect the scene, making sure people have their dogs properly tagged/ID'd. 3.) Impressions: This is definitely an overall awesome park! read more

Great huge dog park with a small dog and big dog area. While the park is great with ample seating, shade is limited so it's best to come early in the day or in the evening during the summer. The crowd is friendly and there's a small hose station where you can rinse your dog if they get too dirty since there are some sandy patches. read more

This review is for the dog park within Elm Ridge Park. It's my favorite! We took my pup here when we used to live in CT and just brought him a couple times again on a recent visit back East. Both the large and small dogs sections are HUGE with plenty of room for dogs to roam free and happy. There is actual grass here, as opposed to sand or wood chippings, and it is very clean. People are friendly and it's a nice, enjoyable park to hang out in while the pups play. read more

Nice, clean park great for the pooches. They do have two different areas one for smaller dogs and one for the larger ones. Once you are in the park continue to drive, the dog park is located on the left in the rear. Don't be alarmed by the gravel road. They do provide water, poop bags and some toys in the park. read more

This is a really nice, well-maintained little park. In the summer, the pool is GREAT-- my son is four and he could spend all day in the baby pool. It is never too crowded. Other seasons, the playgrounds are really pleasant. read more

My kids as well as my dog love this park!!!! Toddler friendly playscape is always a plus in our family! It can get a little buggy at sundown though so bring some if spray if you plan on staying late. Totally worth a play date there though despite the bugs at sundown! read more

Dog park is in the back next to the amphitheater. There is a small and large fenced in area. Very nice park, and plenty of options. This park also has a softball field, swimming pool (large and small), two little fields; concession stand, basketball court & skate park! There is even a pond on the side for fishing in the summer time and ice skating in the winter. Great place for kids, there is a small jungle gym and swings. With plenty to do, this a good place on a nice day for a little activity! read more

We just moved to the area and completely loved this dog park. First they have an area for big dogs and small dogs. Second, it's a very friendly environment and welcome all dogs. My fur baby had such an awesome time. This is definitely going to be my go to dog park :) read more
