I hadn't been to a drive-in theater since high school so I was excited to try it again. I can't recall having this much fun at a theater in a long time. The theater was offering triple features on two of the three screens and all three movies we watched were enjoyable. I firmly believe the drive-in has the power to make any movie better. On my second visit there was an issue with the sound quality. The radio broadcast was wavy as if it was being piped through a large fan. It was really bad at first but got better after I called the drive-in to complain. But it never did get completely fixed. The concession booth has a large menu including pizza dinner deals. Between my two experiences I have to rate this a four. Either way, Drive-ins are not about the quality, but about the experience.

Decent prices and service. If you get in earlier the concession lines aren't as long. The food is pretty mediocre but we really like the fried pickles and popcorn. Just make sure that you listen to the people at the gate about where to park or look in the menu they give you. I've been coming here for a long time and never had a problem with parking. The only thing that was a little disconcerting this visit was the guy at the gate with his gun. While I am a firm believer in the 2nd amendment, open carrying while working at a business geared toward family entertainment is a bit much.

    Ready for the movie!

Basic concession stand food but that's what makes it great, the nostalgia. And, every show is a double feature.

I missed out on The Martian a few months back and it ended up here which is what prompted me to check it out. There are 5 or 6 individual theaters in the building. Each movie has a maximum of 3 showings a day starting at 1:30pm with the latest showings around 10pm. It looks like they have about 8 movies at any given time. Prices are $4 before 6pm and $5 after however, Tuesday is $3 movie day which is what I took advantage of. I didn't purchase any concessions but glanced at prices and they appear generally lower than most theaters. I recall a large tub of popcorn being $7 and a small drink being $2.50. I believe bottled water was $2. The theaters themselves are very large and there weren't many people there so you could spread out. Less than 10 people at my showing. It was clean but is an older building. The screen is maybe slightly smaller than a normal theater but it wasn't that noticeable. The sound was also good. If I had one complaint it was the seats weren't the best. I was fine in them for a 2 hour movie but they are older and don't recline much or have much padding. All in all for $3 this is a winner for me. If I miss a movie or I'm curious about a movie but don't want to pay full price, I'll just wait for it to show up here. Of course, if It is a movie I really want to see and am looking for a full theater experience, I'll pony up the extra cash and see it in IMAX or XD.

Compared to that drive in, I definitely prefer this one! As much as I love it here, there are pros and cons, and lately the cons outweigh the pros. Some of the things I love about this place are not only the nostalgia, but the incredible menu they have at their concession stand! Some of the menu items include pizza, burgers, pretzels, nachos, ice cream, popcorn, hot dogs, candy, slushees, and so much more! I love the food here, and I never have a problem spending my money to help support a small business, however, we spent over $50 just on food here, and to me that is a bit expensive. My date and I went recently to watch the new Elvis movie and the new Ethan Hawk movie called "The Black Phone". The gates during the summer on Friday's and Saturday's open at 7:15, and since the first movie doesn't start until sundown, we decided to arrive around 8. When we arrived, we spent about 20 minutes waiting in line, which was to be expected. The line for the concession stand was out the door, which was also to be expected. Going to events like these, I tend to be more patient. I know most of the staff is young kids in high school working their summer jobs, so I do tend to be easier on getting angry over things that would upset most people. That being said, I think it would be great if the owners put in a bigger kitchen, because we got in line at 8:20 and as we were opening the door to our truck, after waiting in line for about an hour, we almost missed the beginning of our movie as it was just staring. The kitchen seems to be very inefficient, and a resolution to that problem would definitely be to get another one of those pizza ovens they have. So many people wanted pizza, including me, and they could only do one at a time. The staff got orders mixed up too, other people complained that they waited for over and hour for pizza, and that other customers were getting their pizza orders before people who were waiting a good while. The thing that made the experience very unenjoyable was everyone's lack of respect for the rules. I love coming here, and I have been for quite a few years now, but after last night I'm just not sure I want to anymore. The website for this drive in has a TON of rules, rules that I totally respect. Rules that honestly make a lot of sense to have! It's a shame that I was one of the very few people to follow them. At least a dozen times during the movie, my date and I were blinded by other drivers bright lights. Movies on other screens would end, and many people would leave, and turn their bright high beams on, totally blinding anyone in their path. This distracted me from watching the films I came to watch. There are many mentions on the website about being courteous to other patrons, by not putting on your lights during movies, and to not leave in the middle of the movie. So many people disobeyed this rule. At a certain point it definitely made me angry to keep putting my arm up to block the bright lights. What made me angrier, was that not one staff member even tried enforcing their rules. In fact, the staff made many disturbances too. Many times a group of staff members would ride their golf carts back and forth to the dumpster to dump trash, only to be loud and carrying on and laughing while I'm trying to watch the movie. So disappointed in how this drive in operates. It's definitely becoming less of a place for couples to go watch films together. I guess I'm just let down by the fact that they have so many rules, rules that could end with banning, no refunds, and even police involvement, and yet not one staff member is telling any disrespectful patron to turn their lights off or telling staff to keep it down. I doubt I'm be coming back here for a while if I'm being truthful, all of what happened just really put a damper on the mood with my date last night, and that was very upsetting to me.

You can also use your vehicle's radio, but beware of draining your battery. You can watch the movie from inside your vehicle comma or bring a blanket to watch from outside. Some people get creative and watch from the beds of their trucks, a van seat on the grass, etc. Before the movies begin, kids usually play together in the big grassy area in front of the screen -- where it's too close to park and see the movies. The whole place is kept very clean, and the snack bar is filled with all the "tterrific but horrible" movie theater offerings you would expect, including nachos, burgers, ice cream, and (of course) candy, pop, and popcorn! But, these prices are much more realistic and reasonable than at the walk in theaters. The staff is wonderfully friendly, and there have always been two working pinball machines when we visit! The audio and visual quality of the movies is always terrific. You'll also get to see some nostalgic advertising - like the countdown in between the movies, which I'm guessing is actually from the era it depicts. (If not, it does a great job at making it seem that way to a modern audience.)

This time we saw The Mummy (2026) and They Will Kill You. With two screens, they usually offer a family-friendly lineup on one and thriller, horror, or action films on the other, so there's something for everyone. At $12 per adult for two movies, it's a great value. The concession stand has a solid variety, including made-to-order family-size pizza, bratwurst, mozzarella sticks, candy, and more. Audio is played through a designated radio station, so you can listen from your car. We usually bring a portable radio, but you can also rent one from the concession stand if needed. The Aut-O-Rama is clean, well-maintained, and even the restrooms are kept up nicely. It's tucked between the Ohio Turnpike and the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks on Lorain Road in North Ridgeville, which adds a bit of character to the experience. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's a true North Ridgeville classic and one we'll keep coming back to.
