Everything was great until me and my 3 friends went into the concession to get food before the second movie started. The older lady staff are miserable and so rude. The lady embarrassed me because our food was pricier than expected so we had to pay cash and card, again she was so rude and nasty. They gave me my fries but forgot my pretzel and nachos so my friends had to go back in and ask for them and when they did the guy ignored them like 3 times before actually giving them our food. There's something special about watching a movie at the drive-in. I've been to several drive-in's in my life (in different parts of the country), and this is , by far, one of the best. It is clean, well-maintained, and very, very affordable. (Even the restrooms are clean!) The owners do a great job, all around with every aspect of this establishment. Tips: 1. Get there early, because there is a line of cars out into the street, and down Elm Road waiting to get in. 2. Bring cash, they don't accept credit cards. (Although there is an ATM inside, by the concession stand.) 3. If it's cold (or raining), engage your parking break before turning your car on for heat (or windshield wipers)....this way, your headlights won't come on, blinding everyone in front of you and distorting the movie screen. 4. Support the concession stand. They have a huge selection, the prices are reasonable, the place is clean, and there are early-bird specials. 5. There are trash cans scattered around the lot, so don't throw your garbage on the ground like a lazy jerk. 6. This place is discriminating single people from coming into their place, My son went up in his truck along with 3 other couples in their trucks. But he could not go in because he was the only one in his truck so they would not let him in. He even offered to pay for 2 people and they said no because of corona virus. However, they told him he could walk in and sit with his friends in their truck. However, that would not be following social distancing. So they all left. The web site says they follow social distancing. Oh and the guy at the gate said the 6 foot rule was optional. But web site says they fallow it. I hadn't been to a drive-in theater since high school so I was excited to try it again. I can't recall having this much fun at a theater in a long time. The theater was offering triple features on two of the three screens and all three movies we watched were enjoyable. I firmly believe the drive-in has the power to make any movie better. On my second visit there was an issue with the sound quality. The radio broadcast was wavy as if it was being piped through a large fan. It was really bad at first but got better after I called the drive-in to complain. But it never did get completely fixed. The concession booth has a large menu including pizza dinner deals. Between my two experiences I have to rate this a four. Either way, Drive-ins are not about the quality, but about the experience. read more

The concession stand needs to be transformed back to a "concession stand" Apparently they are seeking a night club / strip club, beer joint atmosphere with music so loud blasting throughout the concession stand, the rude staff can not be heard over the rumble. I had to ask 4 times what was being told to me as I was attempting to order french fries. Once I received those fries they were so caked with salt I had to throw them away. We went there for a night out to have an enjoyable time. Not very enjoyable when the concession stand staff is rude and has no idea how to prepare or serve food nor do they understand basic customer service. I love this place. Despite what I am about to say I will continue to go. Has anyone else noticed the signs that are literally everywhere you look? The small slide window where you rent a radio has about 20 on it. There are at least 15 in the small ladies room. The concession stand is covered with neon signs about things that you are not allowed to do. The website has so many rules listed in such detail that i have never finished reading them. When you pull in the gate and get your tickets you get a pamphlet that is half a page of menu and three pages of rules with LOTS OF CAPS LOCKS about things you are not allowed to do. Now I am no Gordon Ramsey but I see a business like that and read the reviews and think "owners are burnout and really hate people." I imagine the young staff feeds off that energy and are probably chicken pecked about those orange neon rules all day long. I have been in customer service a long time and I fully get that you are going to have those handful of customers that never follow the rules but for the majority of us we love your drive in and will take care of it while we are there without reading all the signs or being told that we have to. I rented a radio after getting some really snarky remarks because I asked some questions about how to tune in on another device. It was a nice radio and worked great. Worth the money and I read every sign about all the things that I was not allowed to do with it. I was only planning on carrying it to my car and back so no problem there. When I returned it at the end of the evening the man inspected it like I was smuggling it across the border. It was WAY over the top. I imagine they probably get one broken every now and again but isn't that just part of the business??? So as I said before....I love this place. I will continue to go and enjoy it for as long as I can. My advice to the owners.......LIGHTEN UP!!! You have a beautiful thing going. You are killing it with the old movies right now so well done. Take down some signs. Smile at your customers. Encourage your young staff to relax and smile. Love the set up, cleanest bathrooms i've ever used publicly, food was hot, customer service ? absolutely HORRIBLE. There was zero smiling. I gave a girl a tip and she looked at me like i handed her a dirty tissue. All around rudest staff i've ever been around. Everything else is super wonderful!!! Decent prices and service. If you get in earlier the concession lines aren't as long. The food is pretty mediocre but we really like the fried pickles and popcorn. Just make sure that you listen to the people at the gate about where to park or look in the menu they give you. I've been coming here for a long time and never had a problem with parking. The only thing that was a little disconcerting this visit was the guy at the gate with his gun. While I am a firm believer in the 2nd amendment, open carrying while working at a business geared toward family entertainment is a bit much. read more

My husband and I took our two children to the drive in tonight to see the Minon movie and Inside Out. The drive in was jammed packed as you can imagine. My husband pulled into s spot to park and we were literally yelled at by the owner in a golf cart that we couldn't park there because we had a hatch back. My husband had to ask three times where he could park before the owner calmed down enough to hear what my husband was saying. Also, I am handicapped and walk with the use of a cane. I asked if I could get to the bathroom by cutting through an indoor area. The manager told me no. I would have to exit the building and walk around to the outside entrance for the bathroom. This encompasses me negotiating a curb and uneven gravel led surfaces. Not easy when your handicapped! Then, I could not use the bathroom because the line was too long. I also could not buy drinks or snacks because the line was longer than a Black Friday line at Toys R Us! I feel frustrated by the entire experience. Life is rough enough on those that have a physical handicap ... A little kindness by management would have went a long way! read more

My family loves going to the drive in! Hubby and I had our first date here and we love going back and sharing the experience with our kids. The food is always great, decently priced for what you get. The staff isn't very friendly, but it's never bothered us. We have seen the owner on the golf cart being rude to some people, then completely ignore others doing the same thing. Other than a nice gravel lot, this was not a good experience. We had a previous experience that was just as bad, there won't be a third. Grossly overpriced concessions with rude employees all three times we walked in the building, with the last time when the employee treated us like we were stupid by telling us to go stand by the ice cream when we asked where we were supposed to order it, then when we told her that we had just stood there for 5 minutes and nobody came near it she whined that they were busy (maybe 10 people in front of us, which is by no means a busy night for this drive-in). Me and my fincé have been to the drive in a quite a bit this summer and we both despise this place, Pros: open on weekdays , good popcorn , it's still a drive in Cons: Very unfriendly demanding staff, cash only to buy tickets, stops movies mid move to tell people to go to their consession stand, 10 dollar minimum on debit/credit cards at the concession , high pricing on food, It would be acceptible if it was the only drive in in the area but skyway is about 10 mins away and alot better experience , nicer staff cheaper food, and they actually care about a good experience not money. Save yourself a headache. The only reason we even come here is because we both work until 10-11pm on fridays and saturdays and arent able to make it to weekend movies. 2nd time we have been here and both times they tell you park in the rows with the cones, because we have a hatchback. so we park where they tell us.... someone complains so every give us rope to tie down the hatch... then we cant see the movie. so we move to the front row so we can have the hatch open with no rope. the second time we park on the same front row spot as the first time and we get all settled, one security guy passes and says nothing... then the same old guy ad before comes over and says we have to tie it down again! if we are where we are supposed to be we should not have to do that!! We are out of state and visiting relatives when we saw the drive in and thought it would be fun to give it a try. However, the employee at the ticket booth was incredibly rude and condescending. We almost didn't go in. The parking wasn't monitored so people were taking up two spots. I would not recommend this spot, mostly because of the rude employees. I have also read reviews about eye concessions staff. Their flyer talks about how they need money from concessions so please don't sneak in food, but who wants to buy food from rude people? read more

Drive-ins make movies so much better! PJs, pillows and blankets in the car!! I remember playing on the playground a couple of times here, but now I get nervous and a little agitated with the kids running around at dusk. I'm not sure I will be such a trusting parent, but we'll see. Plus, some kids keep playing and yelling through the movies, which can be irritating, but they're having their fun and I can't blame them. Prices are pretty good and I'd much rather pay to see two late night movies outside than one in a stuffy theater. Also, remember there aren't two, but three screens here! Win! I would like to share my experience with the Elm road drive in the other day... We have visited this location several times but haven't been in awhile, decided to take the kids. We were in line with a bunch of food, we approched the checkout line and I was telling the lady what we had. The lady from the other checkout line comes over and tells the lady checking us out that we had a large ice cream. I turn around and said yes we told her we had a LARGE ICECREAM, she proceeds to scream at me, telling me not to shake my head at her and she owns the place and if I didn't like it I could leave and that she was going to go out and tell the policeman outside that we were stealing and didn't I see the signs and that she has the right to check our stuff, now meanwhile Ella is bawling her eyes out thinks we are getting arrested. I was so dumbfounded by what's going on at this point and more worried about my daughter. I wanted to leave but they wanted to see movie. I proceed to get our drinks and she comes back and starts yelling at me there as well. I politely and sternly tell her she has upset my daughter who has anxiety and would like for her to lay off, she says well how was I suppose to know that. Well look at her crying her eyes out, you apparently have upset her over what you think is us telling them we had an ice cream that was smaller than it was, $1 difference to be exact. which was not the case. Poor girl had to use the bathroom and wouldn't go because she was afraid to run into her again. This place is a really clean and nice drive in theater. I'm glad it is here and always open in the summer, but I've lived in the area all my life (I'm 33) and I have to say, almost every time I am there, someone from the staff is rude or demanding like Earl has said in his review. I know most people get the same response from the staff, because everybody I know says the same thing, and it's made it so I don't even go there anymore. The last time a friend and I went was on a Wednesday night. There were about 20 cars on screen one, and my friend pulled his car in to the spot and the old guy on the golf cart came over and demanded he moved his car closer to the white pole... The car was already so close to the pole that I couldn't even open the passages door all the way, and NOBODY was within 5 parking spots in either direction anyway... When my friend said that to him, he said "Well I can throw you out if you don't want to move it" so he moved it closer, nobody came within 5 spots of us and I couldn't even get back in the car the way it was parked at the end of the movie. Then after all that, some mini van in the front row parked in backwards so the hatch faced the screen, and turned his headlights on through the whole first movie, so everyone got to look at the film through his headlights and the staff did nothing. The time before that, I went in with another friend and his family. We pulled in to pay, the guy taking the money asked how many we had, then asked what screen, and my friends older father said, "I'm not sure but it's the spiderman movie" the guy huffed and puffed and said, "Ah ya, that would be screen 1 then...." And handed him the flyer, my friends older dad said, "what channel is the sound on?" And the guy huffed and puffed again and said "it's in the flyer, pull forward there is a line". We all looked at each other like, what was the deal with that? Then we pulled in and we parked in one of the last rows because we had a van, but I guess it wasn't the "marked" row because another guy on a golf cart came and made us move one row over and back. Then we watched as Vans and truck after truck pulled up as close to the screen as they could and nobody said anything to them. Then as the movie started the people in front of us got out of their cars and stood in a circle in front of us talking. Again the staff did nothing. Always seemed off to me to be so picky about nit picky things and then do nothing when things should be done. I have been going to Skyway mostly in the summers about twice and month and have never had one single problem there. Elm road always seems to be packed, which is great, I hope they stay around, I just wish the staff ran the place differently. read more

My husband and I really enjoy the Elm Rd. Drive In. We enjoy seeing double features here. The picture is very clear and the sound comes through great on the FM station. The concession stand prices are reasonable, and the restrooms are decent. For $8.00 per adult you are able to see two movies. My only suggestion is to get there early for the parking spot of your choice. Otherwise, we feel it is an excellent deal for the price. read more

I would like to begin by saying that I love the drive-in theater even though my husband doesn't share my enthusiasm for attending the drive-in. Nonetheless, I convinced him to take me on Sunday evening. I was very enthusiastic as I haven't been to the drive-in in several years. The grounds are clean, and overall, the place is pretty inviting. That is until I encountered the very rude and discourteous employee/owner in the concession area. The patron in front of me appeared to be purchasing a food pass which she was paying $10 to obtain. She was honest, and abiding by the rules, but the woman at the cash register just couldn't refrain from lecturing her about spending money in the concession area and scolding her about ownership depending on concessions to operate the seasonal business. I found this to be very rude and inappropriate, especially since the patron had four people in her car at 10$ per person and paid $10 for a food pass for a total of $50 which is a substantial amount for any family to spend. She spoke as if she was the only person concerned about making a profit and getting by in this world. I found it very offensive and by the look on the womans face, I could see that she shared my view. As I approached the cash register with two hotdogs ,large popcorn, two large soft drinks and a slip for an order of large french fries I was struggling to get all of the items that I purchased to the register . I spent a great deal of money, and I kindly asked if there was anything that I could use to carry all the stuff to the car. The woman became very irritated and told me to "come on "I have people who buy 10 times this amount of food in here and they manage fine! I don't think you should have a problem! I was dumbfounded by her rudeness, and I remained silent. It wouldn't have done any good to share with her that I recently had surgery, I am 60 years old, and on my best day this would have been a lot to manage. I waited for my french fry order number to be called ,asked another patron where to pick the order up,tried my best to balance everything, and headed to the car. I spilled half of the Coke on my white sweater, dropped half of the fries on the ground, had the popcorn turn over in the single plastic bag that I was given, and proceeded to kick the door in order to get my husbands attention to open it . My husband asked what the "hell" I was doing trying to carry all that and spilling it everywhere. I replied that I asked for a carrier and repeated the rude response that I received. Needless to say, my husband who was never a fan, has had enough ! And, unfortunately, so have I! To the rude woman at the cash register......... if you are so concerned about concession sales, you might want to remove yourself from contact with the public and worry a bit more about how you treat other human beings! read more
