Where we parked there was a path to get to the falls. They are not really falls, just a man made dam with concrete steps on several levels to check out the water. I could see people were able to have canoes on the lake and there was a beach and playground off to the distance on the other side. Another part of the park maybe? A lot of people were walking around with their kids or come go fishing. So it was a nice family area. I realize I am more of a resort pool with a lazy river girly, so I am not in love with the many swarms of gnats but that is me. If you are outdoorsy, this is a nice place to visit. Multiple picnic tables and charcoal grills are available, as is a small children's play area. While there is not a lifeguard on-duty, there are swimming buoys, and bathrooms are on-site, as well. A recreational pass is required for entry and the park does not allow glass containers or alcohol. There were plenty of people kayaking and paddle boarding here, too. I would return!

You don't even notice you're in flint township near the busiest retail corridor in town along Linden Rd. I've gone hiking and walking through here and I want to get in my bike and ride around here, too, now that warmer temps are here! It's never too crowded nor too desolate. The park seems well-maintained, clean, quiet private and is safe as it's patrolled by the cops from the nearby flint township police station, which was built on the grounds next door. If there's a problem, the cops couldn't be any nearer.

The city of Brighton has done a really good job of building and maintaining this play park and the location being in the center of downtown is walking distance to all the wonderful business that this city has to offer. You're able to park on the side while you unload your kayak or unload right into the water if you have a boat. During the holiday week - there were barely alot of people there which is awesome. My friend and I just wanted some where to float and chat. She repeated like 15 times while we were on the lake.... "I really like this spot". Bathroom were clean and didn't smell any odor - definitely a plus in my book. Please note - recreation passport is required; it's a honor system if you don't have one. Sleepy Hollow has plenty of camping for RV's , tents , and a couple of cabins to rent. Sleepy Hollow has a great beach/picnic areas with bathrooms the Park is very well maintained. There is plenty to do here at this state park : boating,fishing, swimming, hiking, Disc golf.

Bloomer Park is an excellent place for hiking and mountain biking. It's has technical mountain bike…read moretrails as well as moderate and casual. These levels are the same for hiking, so you can get a great workout regardless of experience level. There are multiple wood staircases of varying lengths, so it's great for stair climbing exercise. I've been coming here on/off for several years and have never had a bad experience. I've gone to other state parks where I've gotten swarmed by a lot of bugs, but for whatever reason, not at Bloomer. It's also great that it's located next to downtown Rochester, so food and drink after a casual stroll is accessible. I highly recommend Bloomer Park for hiking and biking activities.

It was our first visit to this city park, and I was happy to see it was nicely maintained. We only stayed and hiked through a small section of the park, but it was very clean, bathrooms were available, there was a playground for kids, small grills in sections, bike repair areas could be found, and the trails had been recently upkept. The paths we followed were simple and good for families, although I would not recommend dragging a wagon or anything like that with you. There were easy to hike sections, as well as smaller, more off-road trails perfect for those that enjoy mountain biking. There was plenty of wildlife around to view, wooden bridges for crossing streams and marshy areas, and beautiful areas to relax near the Clinton River. It was honestly a great outing, and we'll definitely be back.
