Had a lovely little post dinner date night here and absolutely loved it. The ambience was great; simple, sleek, sophisticated without being too boujee. The bartender we had (I didn't catch his name) was a burley man with a beer and he was phenomenal. Personable, knowledgeable, and friendly but without being salesy. His cocktails were delicious. We weren't crazy about the peanut butter and jelly one but his old fashioned, the KO Hugo Spritz, and the tequila blackberry one were all sooooo good. We 10/10 recommend for craft cocktails

My Manhattan was filled to the rim; little lower as I wrote this review.

The hustle is real, the cocktails are amazing, the staff is boss!!! For what could be a well known secret to many, this hidden gem behind Barcelona Wine Bar (another 5* place) sits a cozy, shadowily lit mixology experience. The spiral staircase and intimate corners; you can imagine yourself in another time. The out door seating is plenty, although could use some umbrellas with the unpredictable Carolina weather. That aside, think of your classic Mad Men drink or choose from their imaginative menu (I've tried 6). Cheers for now :-)

Elsewhere is a hit or miss for me. I really want to like it. I've gone a few times, the first time great experience, bartender was awesome! Super accommodating and genuinely cared if I liked my drink or not. She made me this awesome strawberry lemonade drink and I had three & raspberry Lemon cello *chefs kiss" My last experience sat directly at the bar, they were busy. Took forever to get our drinks, felt ignored and really didn't like what he made me and he didn't really care. I'll try it again.

The drinks were unique and delicious. It is a cozy spot for a date night. Though the space is small it is perfect for a date night!

The food was amazing. We shared most of our plates and were pleasantly surprised that we could have shared our main entree. The atmosphere and music was on point. The lighting was just right and the decor was well thought out and falls in line with the idea of a speakeasy. I've already shared my experience with a few friends and recommended it for date nights. I'll definitely be back again and hopefully to sit on the patio.

The good: Out waitress Molly was very nice, the bartender's choice was fun and the perfect drink for each of us. The espresso martini flight was great and my favorite was the creme brulee espresso martini. The drinks were honestly the highlight and why they get three stars over two. The ambiance was pretty and the whole set up of the restaurant was very cool. The food was good, but not amazing for the price point. The disappointing: The entire place was extremely understaffed for a Saturday evening, and nothing on Molly our waitress- she was doing the best she could. We waited 30 minutes to order, because there was only one waitress. We had no utensils or napkins and had to request them after some of our food already arrived. The pretzel sticks are said to come with a cheese fondue- it's just a cheese sauce. We were expecting fondue. The tuna tartare had big chunks of tuna that was fresh, but also warm, which is not ideal for ahi tuna. I only had one piece of the BBQ bourbon pork but my piece was dry- my roommate and husband said that was probably their favorite dish however. The duck confit was my favorite, the microgreens and sweet mango citrus reduction was a great pairing, but again nothing wowing for a $300+ bill. Ultimately, good, just too pricey for the experience itself.

They have a Christmas drink menu, mostly sweet, but they also offered to make some minor modifications. I had the Koala LaLaLa, which was more tart with some apple and bitters. Probably not everyone's jam, but I loved it. All the bartenders were great-Star kept us laughing, and they moved quickly considering how busy the place got. I recommend going early to get a good spot to people watch. I plan to come back at least one more time during the holidays. 10/10!

My friends only were in line for 5 mins but unfortunately I was the late one and waited in line for 30 mins. Luckily the line does move fairly quickly. If I'm being honest, aesthetically the drinks look good but not worth the price. My friends and I got the koala lalala and were bummed that after paying so much, it was mostly soda water and barely any alcohol for almost $19. Not worth it imo. I did however love the music selection. It was very nostalgic. Despite the technically difficulties they were having, my friends and I had a great time dancing the night away to our favorite middle and high school jams. My only suggestion would be next time for the dj to put his device on do not disturb. Every time a notification came through, the music would lower and was very noticeable. My friends and I laughed it off thinking we were just hearing things at first only for it to continue followed by the speakers completely going out. Overall it was nice to dance and be around holiday cheer but I don't think it would be worth a repeat experience.

I got crab rangoons for my appetizers. They were good but a lot more breading than I would like. My meal was the chicken and waffles. Boneless chicken for chicken and waffles is always a negative for me because it's not my thing. They were also thighs too which I wasn't expecting. The waffle itself was good and came with a hot honey type of syrup. I had to get more syrup because it wasn't enough for the portion size in my opinion. The food was not bad by any means, but my expectations were higher.

It can be hard to find if you are coming in from the main street as it is located inside a building that has other restaurants and stores inside. But it is rather spacious inside with lovely minimalistic and neutral vibes. The service was pretty great as we were given recommendations and our water was continuously refilled. My friends and I got the Crab Brik, Wagyu Burger, Shakshuka, and Avocado Toast. The Crab Brik came in little triangular wontons that were fried to perfection. I think real crab meat was used which is always nice. There was some aioli on the plate, but certainly not enough to dip with meal in. The Avocado Toast was recommended by our server and it was a top tier choice! It had chili dukka on it so everything from the eggs, sourdough bread, and avocados tasted very seasoned, despite the dish sounding a bit plain. They do not skimp out on the avocado here. My friend said the Wagyu Burger tasted good and I tried the Shakshuka (for the first time in my life) which tasted very tomato-y but still yummy with the bread! I think this is a cute place, especially for brunch. I would rate this place 4.5/5 stars if I could. I want to come back and try their dinner menu which has more food options.

A Hidden Gem on South Tryon!…read more I stopped by Folia for lunch one day, and I'm so glad I did. This place is definitely a hidden gem! If you're driving down South Tryon on a busy day, it's easy to miss because it's tucked away a bit, so keep an eye out. Once you find it, you'll be glad you did. I ordered one of their flatbreads, and it came out fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. They had just rolled out their summer menu, so I also tried one of their seasonal refreshers--I believe it was the Watermelon Mango Lemonade--and it was incredible. It was the perfect drink for a hot day! The atmosphere is one of my favorite things about Folia. It's not a huge space, but it's cozy, stylish, and has a relaxed, laid-back vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. The service was excellent, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. There were several other menu items that caught my eye, so I'll definitely be back to try more. I also heard it's a great place to hang out in the evening for drinks, a girls' night out, or a casual date night, and I can definitely see why. If you're looking for a spot with fresh food, great drinks, and a chill atmosphere, I highly recommend checking out Folia. 10/10 recommend! I'll definitely be back.
