Not only do they have a friendly staff and a huge selection of movies, books, music, etc. They have wonderful programs for children and adults. The children programs were awesome and available for all different ages. They also had special events like hatching chicken eggs and summer programs. The kids section also had a great play area that my kids loved to visit. Even the adult programs were super popular.

It was OPL -where I discovered my deep love for movies and music, Oberlin Public Library's foreign film selection is unparalleled and you can check out 5 movies at a time (I think that's the right number) along with 20 CDs.. I would pile them on, every slow night, grabbing the latest Sex and the Cities, the newest documentaries, and the cheesy film I swore I would never see. It was at OPL where I gained the nickname Red and would take my red-CD player in tow, to pick out CD and movie selections. Laura and Nate - and all the other OPL crew have breathed life into a place, that allows those hard pushed on cash to be able to watch classics such as Cool Hand Luke and the Last Picture Show. OPL allows the too cool college students, to borrow Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson, without having to take a long hard look in the mirror - and say "what the hell was I thinking!" Libraries like OPL , allow you never to regret your choices - because you can always just bring them back - no charge. It really is one of my favorite places on Earth.

A great play area with train table, kitchen area, light table and other interactive toys for kids. There are computers for kid use. Along with other play are spread through the library. Near the circulation desk in the childrens section They have a list of all their programs which was diverse and for many ages. There is a pet Guinea pig. Plus some sort of interactive and themed area. Like writing a letter to Santa with reindeer food. My kids had a great time and can't wait to come back!

Wow! What a nice library! I stopped by to get my kids and I library cards and to find a couple…read morebooks for their summer reading. The desk clerk was friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, they didn't have either books we were looking for, but we were able to reserve the books. The atmosphere is very nice and quiet, just as you would expect in a library. There were several rooms available for reservation. The computer lab had many computers as well as active users. This will be our go to library due to its proximity to our home.

Was thrilled to find out that the Strongsville branch of Cuyahoga County Library was hosting one of…read moremy very favorite authors, Kristan Higgins. The event was last evening. I have never attended one of these events before and was curious as to how it would be. It was delightful!!! A library representative did a interview with Kristan. It was all about her life and her new book. Kristan then did a reading from her new book. Then they took questions from the audience. It ended with Kristan signing her books. Kristan was amazing. She was funny, sassy and engaging. I would highly recommend these Author Events sponsored by the Cuyahoga County Library.

There is a table with play houses and figures, dinosaurs, magnet board, puzzles, and so much more. They have nice seating for adults in big comfy chairs. They even have a video screen where you can play a game like air hockey. Outside on the edge of the parking lot is also a huge play ground for the kids.

Tucked within the books are many play options. My son enjoyed the puppet theater, bean bag chairs, tablet games, play kitchen and train table. They also have puzzles, building blocks, and coloring areas. They have seating for adults which is great so you can supervise your child but also let them play with the other kids. My favorite part was the family bathroom. Small toilets and stools for the sink. My son is working on potty training and was so excited he had to give it a try.

The library is part of CLEVNET so you can use your card from other libraries in the library network to check out library books and materials. I found this very convenient when I spontaneously decided to check out a few books that my book clubs are reading! AMENITIES: The library is fairly small and has two floors. There is a room with public computers downstairs and photocopiers. Also, four meeting rooms (downstairs and upstairs) and Toni Morrison Reading Room. The Culinary Literacy Center is located on the second floor and provides a demo kitchen. Convenient outdoor hold lockers are available for book pickup after hours. The library offers passport services, and voter registration.  COLLECTION: The collection is fairly small and occupies the first floor of the library. The collection includes books, DVDs, audiobooks, and CDs available from the library and CLEVNET catalog. On the plus side, the collection is very easy to navigate. Teens and kids areas are clearly labeled. New books are displayed at the front for easy navigation. The library will provide plastic bags if you need to carry away your exciting finds. SERVICE: The librarians are very friendly. When I asked about certain section's location, the librarian walked me over to the correct section and suggested other books. It was very sweet and attentive. FRIENDS BOOK SALES: Friends book sale was in full swing during my visit. The materials were very budget-friendly - 50 cents for adult books, 25 cents for paperbacks, 50 cents for CDs, 25 cents for music cassettes. Better yet, the prices reduced over the sale period down to a nickel! The collection was extensive but books were mostly older published books. In fact, the collection occupied the entire second floor. I only spent $1 and purchased two books. One book was Freida McFadden's Do You Remember? which is my favorite of hers. The second was a book of canning recipes! I am attaching a list of upcoming events to my review. EVENTS: This library location hosts very fun events! I attended a concert of Duo Balalaika's Oleg Kruglyakov that provided excellent cultural immersion, lovely music, and nostalgic feel. The event was hosted on the second floor in a comfy conference room. I look forward to my next visit to this library and others in the Lorain Public Library System (LPLS). It seems like the libraries in this system have some cooking events. I look forward to attending one of them very soon!
