Daniel's Tree Service is a first-rate company. They do a thorough job, including cutting down to…read morethe ground, removal and cleanup. With so many sketchy companies out there, (particularly after a few big storms) it is refreshing to deal with someone honest and highly competent. Many reviewers throw around terms like "reasonable" or "fairly" priced, only to learn that these are euphemisms for "high priced, but I'm ok with it". Danny is very fairly priced. I thought he did an awesome job and I am pleased with the cost. I would add that the experience with Danny himself is more than a simple transaction. He is very warm and personable. It feels really good to do business with someone you really feel deserves the business. He is committed to doing a great job and he is genuinely trying to do it all right. He communicated frequently and asked permission to come over to survey the area AGAIN and make sure he could get his equipment into the neighborhood w/o impacting my neighbors. So thoughtful! In this day and age, there are so many entitled business owners who have no problem doing the minimum while expecting you to just deal with it. The old commentary comes to mind of "everyone else is doing it this way" and one feels like you need a shower after the interaction. Not so with Danny! I will call on him again when I need to, and I will be referring him to ALL my friends!

He was also very reasonably priced. We can't believe how much better our yard looks and will definitely call Daniel for any future work.

I just want to share what a GREAT experience I had with Ryan Lawn & Tree! On Monday morning, a…read morelarge tree limb fell from our silver maple onto our front yard. I called Ryan--as a new customer, on the recommendation of our neighbors--to see if they could take care of the limb and, if so, how quickly, and how much it might cost. I spoke with Cindy in reception. She was delightful!! She was kind and reassuring and took down all our information. She promised that someone would be able to stop by to give us a free estimate on the job (even if we weren't home) and would email us with the details. Within 2 hours, Jared (their arborist) knocked on our door. He was very professional, friendly and patient in answering all my questions. We talked about the cost estimate and, while he was there, I showed him the brush pile in our back yard that also needed to be hauled away. He was able to give me an estimate for the combined jobs and promised to expedite the scheduling once we formally approved the estimate. Jared was as good as his word; he sent us the estimate before the end of the day, and my husband and I talked about it and were able to send him our approval by the next afternoon (Tuesday). By 12:00 noon on Wednesday, the crew was at our home to take care of both the tree limb and the brush pile. They worked very efficiently, and within a few hours had both jobs done and completely cleaned up the areas. WOW!! From start to finish, the tree limb--and the brush pile--were completely taken care of, at a reasonable cost, by folks who were both incredibly friendly and great at their jobs. MANY thanks to everyone at Ryan--especially Cindy and Jared and the entire crew at our house--for taking SUCH good care of us!! We appreciate you!

We've also used them for aeration and over seeding and been very happy with both of those. The only time they've missed the mark is with mole removal. So we got the typical sod rolled out before we closed on the house. Over time, the rocks and weeds over took our lawn, and we were left with a weed infested ugly lawn adorning our gorgeous modern farmhouse. We talked to several landscapers, many of them recommended, tearing out all of the green space and replacing it after replacing all the dirt. When Ryan's came out to talk to us, discussed their program where our lawn is pretreated for each season, and the lawn is treated for specific weeds or noxious grasses. At the end of the year, our grass is starting to grow back in, we do not have any weeds, including dandelions. We are confident that we saved our grass and avoided expensive re-working of the lawn. I wanted to leave a compliment specifically for the most recent treatment in December 2023. The technicians applied the granules and those are meant to treat the lawn and allow it to sleep for winter. This treatment prevents the early emerging bugs and yuck from spreading in the spring. I watched on my ring camera that they applied the granules all around our lot, but here's the special thing: they took the time to use a leaf blower and remove all the granules from our sidewalk and driveway. That is such amazing service! Not only does this prevent damage to our concrete, but it allows us to have clear sidewalks if we need to treat for snow and ice. That little detail is not something I would've thought of but it's something that I noticed and I want to think them for that extra effort! When they were done with the last treatment of this year, they made sure to let us know, and assured us that they would be back in the spring as we begin 2024 with a healthy lawn.

For us, it was a gnarly, tall, dead, poison ivy covered, rotting tree that in my mind was ready to fall on my car or roof. My experience with A-Alpha clocks in at a 3.5 stars, with some ups and downs, and eventually rounded up for customer service. I was shocked by some initial quotes on just how much it is to not only get a tree down but remove the wood. Shocked. Like $1500/$1600. Gross. We saw the positive reviews from A-Alpha that were totally confirmed when I met with the owner, Calvin. Calvin is super friendly, super responsible and has more reasonable rates. I visited with him and requested a certificate of insurance which he was able to provide for my property faster than I could get the words out -- a great sign. He penciled us in during the busy season (spring) and had a crew out two days later chopping and chipping away. The whole thing was done in an afternoon. Now I have to say, I was bummed when I went outside and saw some massive holes in my yard and a large cracked piece of sidewalk. The crew told me they'd come back and fix that the next day which didn't happen specifically then, but Calvin stayed in frequent contact to make sure they'd make it right. He was a upset with the crew and insisted that this should never happen, that a mistake was made and again that they'd get it handled quickly. They did. They also filled the holes with topsoil and grass seed which I'll have to monitor to get it growing again. It kind of stinks because with the older neighborhood I'm in, the concrete doesn't come close to matching and sticks out like a sore thumb, but really there's nothing anyone can do about that. Spending a ton of money on something like this is never fun, nor is having something go a bit wrong with the project, but when someone makes it right that goes a long way for me. If I hadn't ever heard from them again I'd be livid, but this case was pretty much the opposite. That being said, I hope to hell I never need them again because parting ways with a lot of money to have a tree go bye-bye is not one of life's finer moments!

We were scheduled again and was canceled because " a worker had other plans". I. had to repeatedly contact him to get it rescheduled. He finally told me he was going on vacation and could not get it done. When I asked him about meeting the insurance companies time line he sent a text that said "I can't guarantee anything at this point over a week away. I will call you when I get back, and if you still need it done, I'll be more than happy to take care of you." I ended up signing with another tree company who completed the job in 5 days. Don't waste your time with this company.
