We recently stayed at Hilton Grand Vacations Club. We were looking for a quick getaway on the 4th of July and found a great deal on Hotwire for a 1 bedroom Terrace Premier room. We stay at the Marriott in Palm Desert every year so we were looking forward to checking out something new. The service was excellent. We were even given a tour of the amenities by the manager. They have family and quiet pools to suit your needs. The main pool area is great! It has a very nice little fitness room, a movie theater, a small arcade with some video game machines, air hockey, and foosball. Outside there is a shaded kiddie pool, a volleyball net in the main pool, as well as pickleball, tennis, and a basketball court. They also have a pool table and a ping pong table, and bikes you can use. So much to do! The other guests were all respectful and pretty quiet, something that our stays at the Marriott have been missing lately. Our room was clean and pretty spacious. The kitchen was smallish but well equipped. My favorite part of the room was the private patio with a fireplace! We really enjoyed our stay at this resort and will definitely be back! read more

We had a very disappointing and distressing experience at this hotel. My son and I arrived before my husband, so I used a card to hold the room and let the front desk know my husband would bring the actual card we wanted to use the next day. They assured me it wouldn't be charged--just held. But at 2 AM, I got a notification that my card had been charged, triggering a $35 overdraft fee and overdraft charged from another account. When I brought it up with the front desk, they referred me to the manager, Romero Gomez, who insisted they only placed a hold--not a charge--even after I showed him my bank statement clearly proving otherwise. To make matters worse, the next day while I was at the front desk, I overheard the same staff member checking in another couple and telling them she'd only charge $1 to hold the room. Instead, she charged my card $4,000. It's really upsetting to be lied to and dismissed like this. I expected honesty and professionalism. They also promised to reimburse me for the $35 overdraft fee--but never followed through on that either. They certainly did not make us feel safe, comfortable and valued. read more

We stayed in a connected 1 bedroom and a studio. The rooms are nice size. It comfortably fit 6 people with a huge sofa bed. There was a pull in area to loan and unload next to the rooms. Parking was a bit further away (across the driveway) for our rooms. The layout of the rooms were nice. The one bedroom however had a open walk in shower which was a bit weird. The kitchen has most of the items we need. We brought water (needed LOTS of it), food, condiments and made most meals in the room. They provide dishes, utensils, dish soap, towels and beach towels, hand soap, shampoo... etc They had extra appliances upon request. We borrowed a waffle iron. The shared facilities were well kept. There were a few pools. We went to the family pool every evening. There were blow up toys that we all could play with. The pool had a lot of leaves and I tried cleaning up when we got there. Next to the main facility had 2 pools, a nice bbq area, theater, gym and a game room. It was great to have the older kids hang out there. They also provided laundry soap for 1 load that we took advantage of. Well. The facility is really far away from the city, so it feels like a vacation. It has enough stores around that is not inconvenient. But the checkin is 4pm and check out is 11am..... read more

I am such a fan of the Palm Springs area. It's hard to even explain. So when I found this place after my AirBNB fell through, I was so excited. All the reviews in the world do not do it justice. For me, it was such a lovely experience. The property is beautifully landscaped, private, serene. A complete escape from LA, including traffic. 4 pools. We spent time in each but adored the adult pool for the quiet. I saw someone say it's not for kids but I saw kids and they seemed to be having a good time. Heck, I turned into a kid when I found the arcade. I played tennis. I played basketball. I played ping pong and I lounged. The unit itself was pristine. I loved the old school vibe and the shower on the private deck was icing on the cake. We stayed for 4 days and only hope we can find another deal like the one I somehow got blessed with. The Embarc Palm Desert is deceptively bad. They have a beautiful setting and well-kept grounds. The accommodations are well above par. But watch out for the Gestapo vibe of the staff. You will feel like a minority on the streets of Berlin in 1937. And watch out for the check-out time. If you are not out by 11 a.m. they essentially boot you out -- no matter what your credit standing is and no matter whether they need the room or not. It is unnerving to say the least. It is as if Stephen Miller were running the place -- no compassion, no concern, no care. And worst of all, when I wrote to their corporate office to express my displeasure, they wrote back, most officiously, to defend their brownshirt tactics. They offered no apology. They said in essence what do you expect when you're 20 minutes past their check-out time. Stay away. Stay away. Stay away. read more

A couple I know owns a timeshare here and me and a bunch of my girlfriends stay for free for a bachelorette party! This place was so much better than I expected! We got a two bedroom timeshare, and it was huuge. There was a huge kitchen area with an island, microwave/oven, utensils, plates, fridge, freezer, and coffee maker. The beds were soo comfortable - not too soft or too hard... very plush, I just wanted to lie in it and snooze the night away (oh wait, I did!). One room had two twins and the other room came with a California king. The living room couch is huge and pulls out into a bed. There's cable tv too in case you get bored, though I don't know how that's possible when this place offers tennis courts, a golf course, and even a hiking trail on top of your various pools and spas. They have an area called "family pool" and another area for the "adult pools". There's also a cute back patio with a fireplace. Right down the hill is a plaza with Ralph's and CVS so if you need breakfast foods and late night drinks or desserts like we did, it's only a 5 minute drive away. Easy check-in and check-out process. Great place, it's like coming to a celeb rehab center (hee hee jk) or one of those crazy "real world" living spaces they provide - bright colored walls and hip decor makes this an unforgettable resort. read more

My boyfriend's family and I stayed at Club Intrawest in August to finish off the summer with a fun trip to Palm Desert. My boyfriend's parents are members of the Hilton Grand Vacations Club and this is one of the resorts to choose from. The resort is spectacular - a southwestern style feel throughout - well fitting with the Palm Desert landscape. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite which included a kitchenette, living room area, nice sized bathroom with a full shower, an outdoor shower off the bedroom, and a spacious outdoor patio with a fireplace. There was a pool close to our room, but we found that the pool near the front desk was a lot bigger and even had a volleyball net set up. We also found out that they have an arcade room and pool table by the big pool, so we ended up spending a lot of time there. The resort staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. If you ever needed anything, they were there to help you. They have a great entertainment rental program at the front desk if you want to borrow DVDs or board games and take them to your room. They have a whole binder full of movie titles and board games to choose from. All you have to do is request it, and if it isn't already checked out by another guest, you can take it to your room right away! That worked out great for us when my boyfriend, his sister, and I didn't feel like swimming and wanted to watch a movie! With all the positives, there were only a few negatives. For one, the shower in the bathroom was poorly designed. There was no door or curtain set up for the shower at all. I was completely shocked by this - I mean, water would get EVERYWHERE. So my boyfriend and I avoided that shower and stuck with the outdoor one with our bathing suits on. Talk about weird. The other issue we had was that there was little to no shelter from the rain near the pools. During the summer, even though you're in Palm Desert, there's still going to be rain! So we had all our belongings by the pool, including phones, room keys, dry towels, and the only "shelter" from the rain were these little umbrellas that just did not work to keep the water off our stuff. Even the "roof" near the front desk building was basically a grate, letting rain right through, so that didn't work either. So that was extremely frustrating. We suggest that you either leave most of your belongings in your room - or bring a bag to put them in! But all in all, we had a great time at Club Intrawest - we'd definitely recommend it to other Hilton Grand Vacation Club members and other guests as well! read more

This is a great resort to check out and stay at in the Palm Desert area if you are traveling as a couple, family, and even friends. This location has many options when it comes to picking what room you want - a studio, 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom terrace, 1 bedroom terrace with an outdoor shower (yes we got this one and thought it was cool!), and 2 bedroom options that can include a lockoff, 2 bedrooms together, etc. As an embarc member, we used points for this stay so it was free. They do add on a resort fee for the many amenities they have such as pool, gym, spa, outdoor tennis and pickle ball courts, and more. The staff I thought were super friendly. We forgot an iPad and Jason called us immediately to inform us of the lost item. Rooms were super spacious, laundry is on site (communal so not in room), kitchen space area in the 1 bedrooms, and car port parking. Overall, I would recommend staying here! This place deserves the high reviews. The grounds are immaculate, meaning not one piece of trash, meaning the grill we used to cook steaks on Wednesday night was cleaned to as new condition Thursday morning. There are four pools including a pool for babies and toddlers which is only a foot and a half deep. There is a movie theatre, arcade with free games, gym, basketball and a pickleball courts. Outdoor pool table, ping pong, bike rentals. The staff were very accommodating, helping us with salt and pepper, extra blankets and even a pan to cook eggs on the grill. Spending a week here at Embarc Palm Desert, there were eight of us and we got two, two bedroom suites, outstanding units with two masters bedrooms with bathrooms, including Huge walk-in showers, common living room with a full kitchen fully equipped with dishes, pots, pans, toaster, coffee maker, blender, and residential sized appliances! Three TV's each with Blue-ray DVD players. The Resort has four pools, beautiful grounds, amazing clubhouse with a theater you can reserve with hundreds of moves to choose from, which you can also borrow, BBQ'S for your use and the Resort is in the middle of a Huge golf corse. The rooms are very nice and clean. The big shower in the one bedroom is amazing! The grounds of the places are outstanding. Every morning I would sit on the patio with my coffee and watch the grounds crew clean the pool area and BBQ area. They really take pride in making this place clean. We stayed at this resort for the first time during Coachella this year and because this place was so beautiful and relaxing we actually came back for my birthday last weekend. Even though it was 120 degrees in palm desert the pool really helped with the heat and the air conditioning in the room was perfection. We stayed in a one bedroom room and it came with a full sized kitchen and a living room. The private balcony was great for the nighttime and came with an outdoor fireplace. The shower indoor is huge but what was great is the outdoor shower. It's connected to the bedroom and very private. So nice for taking cold showers in the heat. This resort has 4 pools on the property. Two being for families and the other two are adults only. The main pool by the lobby was by far our favorite. It has a volleyball net in the pool and there's tons of seating. There's also a movie theater, basketball court, tennis court, ping pong, pool and an arcade (which is also free btw). Had so much fun this past weekend that I didn't want to leave lol. Love everything about this place and can't wait to go back. read more

The casita was dirty. The floor was not cleaned and polished. Bathroom stinks. Air conditioner can't cool the rooms, so we use all the ceiling fans everywhere in the 2 bedroom casita. Outdoor shower was useless coz their pool was too far and too small. They dont have curtains just blinds. I gave it 2 stars coz of the complete kitchenwares. So apparently this place is great if you've got the nice suite (oh, and free always makes everything better, right?), but I can't knock Ms. Angela for her good time. Mine, however, was quite different. We were out there for the Coachella Festival, to which we've attended many years, myself, 8 out of the 9 it's been going. Prices of rooms are ridiculous now as time goes by, and this place was so near $400 a night, and you never know what you might be getting until you arrive. My friend who booked the room said that it didn't look so good on line when he booked it, so he was quite surprised when we arrived. I was too... We drove up and figured it must be a time share or something. The location was good, easy to access, and as previously written about, close to a lot of things you'd need. The staff was very polite when we arrived, and while we were really disappointed to find that our room wasn't ready because apparently check in isn't until 4pm (yeah, 4pm!!!!), they pointed us to the locker rooms to change, the pool to lounge by and assured that they would hold our luggage and place it in our room for us for when we returned. We wouldn't be back until well after midnight that night, but they assured we'd have no trouble checking in and getting our keys. They even kept our groceries to put in our room for us so they wouldn't spoil. When we got to our room later that night we were quite pleased with what we saw. Steps away from the adult only pool area, a cute little patio with a fireplace, a California King bed, spacious bathroom and stereo and TV. Seemed cool on first glance. Fridge, check. Microwave, check. Sink, check. Oh, wait, the Microwave was the only way for us to cook. Those groceries I spoke of before... couldn't cook. What kind of timeshare doesn't have a place to cook or even a hotplate???? I've stayed a lot of places and they all had something more than a stupid microwave for cooking your food, and to me, this is kind of the point of a timeshare. The next thing I didn't like... no fresh towels or cleaning services, or you had to pay for it. I'm sorry, but at $400 a night, I shouldn't have to pay more to get fresh towels, and they only supply you with two. There aren't even extras to use at the pool. No sir. I'm not saying I need my bed made everyday, but I do like fresh towels when you're spending three 12 hour days in the hot sun coupled with dirt and grass and sweat. It can get nasty. Last thing we didn't like... We're adults. We don't NEED a reminder call to tell us to check out. Again, at $400 a night, you know you don't want to pay for another one. Not only did we get the reminder call, but the cleaning woman was at our door with 10 to 15 minutes to spare in OUR favor. I opened the door and reminded her that we still had time left. I can't stand feeling like I'm being pushed out of a place that's been paid for, especially top dollar. So, bottom line. I don't think you get what you pay for here. I can only imagine how much the ones with an actual place to cook cost. Sorry, but I'm just not a fan of this one. read more

Club Intrawest Palm Desert - A gorgeous, secluded, quiet golf resort, with spacious, well furnished "apts", luxurious club house, spa, pools...! My wife and I just had another great 5night stay here in late Sept. We had a grand time as usual. That was expected, as Club Intrawest does maintain its HIGH STANDARD - our unit was maticulously maintainted; the upkeep of the premises was supurb! All the staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us good recommendations on local events and great directions! Ours is a 1-bedroom unit upstairs (16-2), which has a large open terrace with a fireplace, facing the family pool below. The living quarter comes with a huge, nicely furnished living room, very bright with large windows; a well-equipped kitchennette with all the essentials, plus a separate good size ice maker unit! The bedroom has a large shower stall, plus another spacious, attached private shower stall next to the terrace as well! There's TV in the living room and bedroom, of course. The one in the living room is too small, however. The sinks and appliances are a bit dated, but clean and well maintainted. On the ground floor, each building has a laundary room, free. even stocked with free detergents! - I'd give it the 5th Star, after the appliances are updated. The Club is huge, luxurious, and welcoming! It houses the adult pool and a Fitness Room, a small, classy movie room and a game room. Right next to the Club House is another building for the SPA! The golf course is of championship caliber. Besides golf, there is also a tennis facility. BTW: A supermarket and the popular Morton's Steak House are conveniently located only 0.25 mi away from Club Intrawest. For a couple of evenings, my wife got something from the Supermarket, and put our kitchen to good use! SOME FUN STUFF WE DID AROUND TOWN: - In addition to many fun stuff to do on the premises, there are tons of others to do outside! - Almost everywhere in town is only 15-30min drive away. We visited the charming Old Town in La Quinta; had fun in the Farmer's Market and Art Fair (Thu/Sat evenings only) in Palm Desert downtown, where we were awed by the 26ft towering sculpture of "Forever Marilyn"; enjoyed shopping and movies in Westfeld Mall...happy hours everywhere including Mamma Gina on El Paseo...! - To top it off, we spent a glorious day hiking in the magnificent Joshua Tree National Park (60+min drive to the "Yacca Valley" Entrance) BTW: - Over the years, we have visited other Club Intrawest properties in several locations including Canada and Mexico, this one in Palm Desert meets Intrawest's high standards, and does have its own unique, desert charm. Stayed here during Coachella...and even before stepping into the unit, knew it would be about 10.5 billion times better than camping outdoors. So there's that. The rooms were very well-sized, the kitchenette (more of a full kitchen, really!) was spacious and well-stocked with cooking supplies, and the outdoor patio area is such a nice place to sit and enjoy the beautiful desert mornings/evenings. Also love that there's a fireplace outfitted in every unit, next to the patio. Only weird part was the fact that the shower in the 'master' bedroom, as well as one of the two showers in the smaller bedroom, didn't have a shower curtain...or a door...or any closure, really. So you just had to let it all hang out. We ended up showering in our bathing suits to make things less awkward. They have 'key' wristbands, which are also really helpful, so you don't have to spend years rummaging around in your bag to find a key card. You just have to touch the sensor on your wristband to the door, and boom! It's open. Very handy! Another weird thing is the wifi, which only allows for 3 people to access it at one time. Considering the unit we booked was meant for 6, and we all had iPhones, it was a little inconvenient to have to call up reception and get another wifi code. Not a huge deal though, I guess. Lastly...the location is really random. It's just a weird patch of sandy desert and then...there's a hotel. Maybe this is just with all things in the desert. Still a little creepy if you ever wanted to go outside at night. read more

My girlfriends parents own a timeshare here. My girlfriends and I came out here for an extended girls weekend. It was great! The two bedroom suite was huge and it slept 7 of us confortably. We have a great huge kitchen with an island and amazing outdoor patio. The beds were soft and warm and the showers were clean and hot. This place has multiple pools through out the area. The scenery is just beautiful. Do know this is a quieter place. There are no restaurants or bars on site. However, your within close driving distance. read more

Loved it here! Beautiful and comfortable resort. Impressed with the unit we had, especially the spacious patio and outdoor shower. We did a lot of day trips so did not use much of the facility, other than the pool behind our complex. Nice gas grills for guests and seating area, although we never used it due to the 110 degree heat. We did the walk around the facility with Juan that they offer on Tuesday morning at 9am. It was so interesting and he was such a nice man. Overall real nice staff and property. read more

DO NOT COME HERE, my family has been coming here for years & we just came back for the first time in a while. Our first night were sitting in our room & a mouse sized cockroach runs across the floor right in front of us. then in the other bedroom one was hanging out on the closet door & when we tried to catch it it ran right into the bed. we called the front office and at first they tried to offer us bug spray, then they finally offered to switch us to a different room (but they only had 1 bedrooms we were staying in a 2 bedroom). so we get our stuff all moved into the new place at about 10pm, by 8am they're calling us on the phone already trying to get us out of the room. how is it our problem that YOU messed up? We are on vacation trying to relax and instead we are constantly being given a hard time. they offered us no discount for this inconvenience or being moved to a 1 bedroom. not to mention the new owners "Embarc", painted all the buildings in horrible colors, nothing like how it used to be. & when we checked in they say you're all set except for resort fees, which the old owners did not used to do, you have to pay $40 A NIGHT to be able to use the pool & "keep the paint on the walls". these horrible gross colors :/ I'm haven't the farthest from relaxing vacation here at Embarc, 0/10 absolutely would not recommend. read more

So this place is great. Spanish style look and feel. Like all time shares it lacks in enough pans, bowls, etc. but you can manage. They do have a long list of cooking items you can borrow from their main kitchen. That's a must. Ralph's grocery store is walking distance. I've read several reviews about an outdoor shower, we don't have one. We are in the two bedroom lock off 17-1 &. 17-3. We do have a fireplace outside to enjoy while you eat outdoors since there is no real dinning table. Bring your own coffee as they only have enough for one pot. The adult pool by us is really just am over sized jacuzzi. No one really there though. Plan to head to the big family pool. No curtains on the showers, but that's the Spanish style showers. There is a radio and dvd player. Televisions are super small even in the living room, but tolerable. It's a beautiful place. And I would stay here again through Hilton grand vacations. We stayed at the club Intrawest Vancouver and it was even more amazing!!! A great time share club. read more

I'm not a owner of this Time Share property but I was invited 2 times and enjoyed every visit. Callie the from office reception remembered me from last year. Beautiful place to stay, however I purchased a stay vacation package last year and one week before my arrival they canceled my reservation without any explanation. Embarc/Diamond Resorts customer service is not to be trusted to honor reservation commitments. Visitor and buyer beware! read more

Great room. It even has an enclosed outdoor shower. It was fun to take a shower and look out at the desert in the mountains. We got a one bedroom which was perfect for two people. The pool areas are very nice and have a umbrellas for shade. The only downfall is that they are doing construction next door so it's really noisy at 6 AM. read more

Am at palm desert. The encouraged us to a meeting to update us new ways to use our points. 100+ temp and walked from the farthest complex with a beer in hand. Sheryl dutel was signing us in, who claims upon my asking later is a manager, said "you cannot go to a presentation with alcohol". I said fine since I finished it already and can discard. She said "you cannot attend a presentation if you had been drinking". Her tone was like it is my fault. I said no one mentioned this when we signed up. She repeated her comment. Nothing about we will try to reschedule or sorry we cannot ... With this attitude no wonder people are not happy to meet with them. So we did not go to the presentation. Even better. read more
