Her kindness made all the difference I visited on a Tuesday, and it was peaceful and perfect for relaxing by the pool with a good book. A special shoutout to Trinity, the pool attendant, who was such a sweetheart and incredibly attentive. She even surprised the pool guests with a complimentary round of shots, which made the afternoon even more fun! Amazing boutique hotel in Palms Springs!! Everything has a cute vintage feel and feels very peaceful despite being by a busy road. The hospitality is very welcoming and everyone here is so kind. The rooms are very clean and roomy with a wide variety of drinks in the mini bar! There is a mini patio for the room with lots of privacy and a little fountain to drown out outside noise. The Pink Cabana cafe is a restaurant in the hotel with amazing food, though a small menu! They also offer the same food by the poolside! We ate dinner here one night and the ambiance was so nice. The outside of the cafe feels like you're eating in a beautiful backyard. All the lattes and coffee options here are amazing for the daytime as well!!! Finally, all the soaps, lotions, and shampoos are Diptique, which I loved!! They also offered complementary sunscreen and after tanning lotion by project reef, it smells great. Sands is my wife and I's go to spot when we just need to unwind from our jobs, responsibilities, and of course kids. In the busyness of life, one should be able to getaway for a couple days and Sand is our desert sanctuary, our home away from home. In total we have been here 6 times and each time we are met with open arms, a very attentive and proactive team, and relax time! I want to personally thank Liz, Summer, and Bruno for making these past few days memorable for my wife and I. The grounds are well kept, rooms are clean, and service is very helpful. We went for a Royal couple massage and this is our third time doing so because having the spa on site right by our rooms is so convenient! My wife tells me i fell asleep during the massage-i was so relaxed afterward! Steve my masseuse did an amazing job being informative and helpful with removing the tightness in my back. I may have found my new favorite hotel in the Coachella Valley outside of Palm Springs. It's truly a gem. From the moment I checked in to the second I checked out the hospitality and warmth from all staff was incredible. I wish I could have stayed longer! It feels like a boutique hotel and all the rooms are on either side of the pool. I stayed in room #5 and definitely recommend that side of the hotel. They even use Diptyque products and the scent they use is the cologne I use daily! Obsessed. I went recently and part of the resort fee included chia pudding, banana bread and fruit in the morning as well as coffee served poolside. That was nice touch. The rooms are comfortable with an outdoor patio and nice spacious shower. I loved the shallow pool with comfortable loungers and beds. You feel at home at this hotel. I even met so many nice people at the pool. I would stay here again. read more

I came down for a work event and stayed here for a few nights and it was lovely. Beautifully renovated old hotel with loving touches for a great bohemian vibe with Moroccan influences. A coworker recommended this spot so I went with it and I'm glad I did! I didn't use too many resources while staying here, kept a relatively low profile so I can't attest to services too much, but my bed was comfortable, my room was clean, the restaurant was tasty with good drinks, and it was a well kept property overall. I loved the books they created with fire pits or chairs around the pool area and patio of the restaurant for spots to get cozy. My only regret was that I was traveling alone, this would be a great spot with a loved one to share it together. I upgraded to the deluxe room so I'd have a side table and chair to work out of my room which was great, it also meant I got the amazing tub that comes with this update! I was in that tub every night and it was marvelous! Everyone I did interact with was very friendly, and if we find ourselves down in the area again I won't hesitate for a return visit. Our stay here was great! This boutique hotel was very chic and the decor was great. Super cute photo ops throughout the hotel. We didn't have any trouble getting chairs by the pool either of the two days we were there. The restaurant was cute as well and had good food but a small menu. Drinks were really good too. My only complaint was the lighting. The lighting in the restroom in our room was terrible. It was very dim and hard to do my makeup. Rooms are A+ clean and decorated mid century modern with attention to every detail. I really loved the unlacquered brass ALL Over which as a designer I appreciate since maintenance is so high- but maintains design integrity of the mid century period. I was given a bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival with a sweet card & beautiful glasses with frozen edible flowers to pour in. I would not call this a spa, it's a hotel that has spa services you can get. There are no amenities and no real seating area. You can't be at the pool unless you're staying there. That being said, we had an amazing couples massage. Both therapists really listened and cared about what we needed and how we needed it. Customer service was amazing. I just stayed two nights here as part of a wedding party. The pros: Very Instagrammable in terms of design. For the most part, the staff was very professional and outgoing. Noticeably a notch above the standard hotel experience. The cons: Bugs. Cockroaches in particular. This is the first time I've had to kill a cockroach in a hotel room. There were other bugs in our room too during our stay, and most of them I don't mind (beetles, rollie pollies, etc. are fine by me), but cockroaches are where I have to speak up. Another member of the wedding party had a cockroach on her ceiling. Yikes. Another had a mouse! When the front desk was informed about the bugs, they were very apologetic and agreed to spray our room while we stepped out for brunch. I appreciate that, but in speaking to other members of the wedding party, it seems like bugs aren't just a random one off for The Sands, but are perhaps indicative of a larger problem. My husband and I stayed here Sunday-Tuesday for our anniversary/baby moon. We booked the deluxe king room. We loved that we didn't have to valet and there's a private lot. We arrived hours before check-in so we opted for lunch at the pink cabana (restaurant onsite) and changed into our swimsuits to hangout by the pool until we could get into our room. We were given our room number and keys and when we went up to our room there was already another couple in there! It was very awkward for all parties. I returned back to the lobby and they assigned us another room and offered $30 credit. I trust that a hotel charging this much would double check these sort of things and prioritize safety/privacy. Their casual response to the mistake was a little off putting. As others have mentioned, the rug and sofa in the rooms need a good shampooing, but everything else was clean. The bed and pillows were really comfortable so huge plus. I'd recommend this hotel if you're looking for somewhere quiet and all you want to do is sit by the pool. Which is exactly what we were looking for. You can get poolside service with tasty food and drinks and the hotel is adults only. The grounds are really beautiful and the hotel feels peacefully secluded. Also, this hotel is adjacent to a quiet shopping center so don't expect any nice views from your balcony or patio. This was such a great venue, the way it's set up with the pool in the middle and all rooms open to the pool was a perfect structure. I would love to go back here just to hang out again. I took pictures and now I don't know where they went. (Update.... Found the pics. Ha!) Anywhoooo.... super cool, chill vibe, relax and 'just be', small resort. About 40-ish rooms all surrounding an oasis type pool with loungers, umbrellas and cabanas. Let's start with the outside... so it's pretty non-assuming when you look at it from outside... like just another motel / hotel. Then you walk in and it's a bit like Shangri-La in that you are just overcome with a sense of "just breathe and relax". Parking is a bit confusing because it's like where's the lobby? Just park in the long rectangular lot and walk in the doors where it says "Pink Cabana". Once you walk in the first set of doors... that's the lobby. Walk through the next set of doors... Pink Cabana is on the left (note the cute little firepits)... the pool is right in front of your and the rooms are around the pool. Our room was on the 1st level so we didn't have to figure out where the stairs are ... thankfully. I love that the pool had little water containers at both ends of the pool that you could grab a cup of water (or in my case... fill up my sippy cup.) Also... poolside.... in the morning, they had a carafe of coffee ... with get this.... almond milk and oat milk instead of regular milk. I mean... I don't put milk in my coffee... but how awesome is it that they have Almond and Oat? (I'm a dairy free kinda person so this was super cool.. IMO.) Wifi works great all over the pool area. I know this because I sat poolside in the morning and answered Slack and emails. Plus, saw several other folks doing something similar... working with the laptops and phones. It was like an outdoor business room complete with pool, coffee and bathrobes. Hahahaha! (Oh... yea... they provide bathrobes in the rooms for you to use.) The rooms... small but hip. The bed was uber cozy and comfy. The mattress might be a bit too soft for some... but I felt like it just hugged you. The mini fridge was mostly filled with beverages for sale as was the mini bar that is setup on the credenza under the TV. We didn't indulge in any of it, so we just kept it all fancy to look at. The wardrobe/closet is big enough for a handful of hung outfits and maybe like a week's worth of clothes. We were just there for the weekend so we were good on space. The room also had its own little pink patio. The couch on the patio has seen better days and I'd suggest putting another blanket or towels on it before sitting on it. The patio itself is semi-private. I mean... it backs to the parking lot and you have neighbors that could possibly see over the wall dividing the patio/rooms... but probably only if they were trying to look. The bathroom was spacious. And I really dug the pocket door. We had a shower only room which was fine by me. Water got nice and HOT too. The lights and switches were a bit tricky to figure out but after a day of flipping this and that and looking for the on/off buttons... we figured it out. The curtains are a dual set... one is flimsy and sort of see through... the other is heavy and blacks out the room. So, if you like it DARK to sleep.... close the heavy curtains and it will be black in your room. We will totally be back if we are in the area again. Side Note.... this place gave me full on Deja Vu when we drove up and the whole weekend I couldn't figure out why. Until I spoke to the gal at the front desk, who told me that the place used to be an old timeshare resort. *click* This is the place where my grandparents timeshare was that I had visited several times. That's why it seemed vaguely familiar. Keep in mind this new Sands Hotel is WAY nicer and different than the timeshare ... but it sits on the same property so.... that's why I had Deja Vu. ha! read more

First time at this lovely hotel. Had a room booked at another hotel but decided to stay here instead. What a good decision that was! Started with a lazy Sunday at a poolside cabana where we met Sam who took excellent care of us! Tasty Cadillac margaritas and nibbles were just right! Our room was so spacious and welcoming (we had two queens). I knew this was the place for me when I heard the music playing as we entered the room. I loved the classy retro playlist!! French press coffee was a happy surprise. Had dinner at the Pink Cabana, it was delicious. I also loved that the champagne was served in a coupe glass instead of a flute. My husband booked us a room here for a quick weekend getaway. My husband called beforehand to confirm if we'd be able to enjoy the pool prior to checking in (very late check-in time). The staff was extremely kind and professional over the phone. Once we arrived, I immediately noted how beautifully the hotel was decorated and designed. Has such a modern look with a touch of moody vibes and a 40s-50s look tied into one. We went to our room and couldn't believe how beautiful and large our room was. We didn't book a suite or upgraded room. There was a lounge area, a beautifully decorated bathroom, and a sleeping area. In addition to the beautiful decor, there was a fully stocked bar. The best touch of all was the soft jazz music that was playing in the room. Such an elegant touch. We quickly changed over and headed to the pool. There were plenty of self-serve water stations to help combat the heat. Our poolside waiter was very kind and attentive. We had a variety of cocktails on the menu and weren't disappointed with any of our drinks. We sadly missed the window to order food as the kitchen was closed. Our waiter spoke to the chef and was able to squeeze our order in which was wonderful. The food was very tasty and cooked to our liking. Every staff member we encountered was very kind and attentive. In the morning, I walked down to get some water from the water station, and they had set up a complimentary self-serve coffee station as well. We were able to enjoy the pool for a few more hours in the morning as their check out isn't until noon. All in all, we absolutely enjoyed our stay here and can not wait to return. We truly found a hidden gem here in the palm desert area. I found our time here to be more enjoyable than we've had at the larger, more commercialized resorts in the area. read more

The literal best experience! THE VIBES!! We were there for our 13th anniversary and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us and surprised us with an upgrade to their presidential suite! It was the entire highlight of our vacation. The room was INCREDIBLE. It had slow jazz playing when we entered to set the mood. The attention to detail was outstanding. Pool table, full kitchen, 2 patios, a balcony, a bath in the bedroom, I could go on. I'm a fan for life. You better believe I bought the signature scent candle to remember the experience and take me back lol. We were greeted by the amazing Luis who was so warm and gracious. The lobby was so cute and the scent they use literally transports you somewhere else completely when you walk in. The guest service manager was also so sweet and so excited for us, it was amazing. She also offered this delicious mint tea they have as well. The pool had the cutest decor and poolside cocktail service. Samuel was great. The drinks were really good and even served "up" in pool safe wine glasses (The buzz button cocktail was our favorite). It's adult only so no kiddos, mostly couples, and all good vibes. The pink cabana restaurant is superrrr cute inside. The food and drinks were both really good, ended with sauternes and took dessert back to our room. Perfection The coffee bar in the morning was surprisingly so good!! I didn't expect much but I was IMPRESSED. They even had oat milk. I had two lol. I will absolutely be back. Amazing experience. Extremely Disappointed and Disturbed by Management's Response My stay at Sands Hotel & Spa in Palm Desert was ruined--not just by roaches in my original room and a hostile, aggressive guest next door--but by the absolutely appalling attitude of the hotel manager, Bruno Santos. When I reported the harassment, intimidation, and even unauthorized photos taken of me by this guest, Bruno dismissed my experience outright. He repeatedly said that because he, a man, wouldn't be intimidated by someone banging on walls or taking photos without consent, my concerns "did not warrant" any real action. His disgusting comparison, minimizing my very real fear and discomfort simply because of my gender, was deeply disturbing and offensive. Even worse, after dealing with the roach-infested room and the aggressive guest, Bruno told me relocating rooms was entirely my choice--as if the inconvenience and stress I endured were my own fault! This callous refusal to take responsibility or protect a guest's safety is unacceptable. To top it off, he refused to provide me with any corporate contact info or escalate my complaint, effectively stonewalling me. If you value respect, safety, and genuine customer care, stay far away. This management is disgraceful. Liz -- Telling a guest that there is nothing you can do in response to a harassing guest is unacceptable. If a woman reports that a man is banging on the shared walls and taking pictures of her without consent, it absolutely requires staff intervention. To dismiss such serious behavior is beyond comprehension. I do want to recognize one lovely employee, Michelle. A beautifully well kept hotel and spa located behind a strip mall??? Sounds odd, right? Well, pink better be you're favorite color because there is a lot of it. Loved the Moroccan themed decor too. This is an adults only resort. This place is ideal for a girls trip or bachelorette weekend. It's also a cute couples get away spot. Our rooms were clean and functional. My mattress was so comfortable! The grounds are well manicured and the pool area was relaxing. Make reservations for a pool side cabana. The spa is beautiful. I felt like I was transported to a modern Riad. I can honestly say I had one of my best massages here. If I'm ever in the Palm Springs area again, this would be my 1st choice. What a great boutique spa & hotel; the pool was great & the spa was absolutely amazing! We went mid week, end of summer, so not very many people there & they don't allow children - which was even better! Jaclyn helped us the entire time & was extremely pleasant!
