I went in to this Embassy location yesterday, March 12, 2025, for a regular cleaning. The ladies at the front desk are always super friendly and greet me as soon as I walk in the door. Alyssa, the hygienist, did a great job with my cleaning --- explained each step as to what she was doing, was understanding of my issue of not being laid back flatter (sinus/breathing issues), and was friendly and comforting as she did her job. Went there yesterday for my first appointment. Did a pretty decent job of an evaluation. Referred me to an Endodontist to get a root canal and I go back for a cleaning and treatment my insurance won't pay for that's 277 usd out of pocket. I went to this Embassy Dental location for my yearly checkup. They told me I needed to do some x-rays. While doing the x-rays the device they put in mouth nearly chocked me to death. I couldn't breathe. The technician cleary didn't know what she was doing. It was the most awful torturous experience I've ever been through. NOTE: this review is just for orthodontics. I do not recommend Embassy Dental for regular dental care. I just finished up 15 months of braces treatments with Embassy Dental and I am so pleased with the results! I went in every 4-6 weeks for visits and the staff were always super friendly and efficient. My only complaint was that I had 3 different orthodontists during that 15 month period. I will say that the latest one is my favorite. He explains exactly what he is doing and tells you what to expect in the days following a tightening. Also, the ortho staff travels so they are only in the Donelson office twice a month. That makes scheduling a little more difficult. Regarding regular dental work: the staff are also very friendly, but I always felt like they were trying to upsell me and do unnecessary treatment. read more

I felt like I was at a mechanics shop with all of the upselling that was going on. I decided to give them a try after moving 30+ minutes away from my regular dentist. Big mistake. My other dentist is well worth the drive after this experience. They tried to sell me a $544, out of pocket, "deep cleaning" that they insisted I needed. "You're nowhere near getting gum disease, but if you don't get this deep cleaning, your teeth could fall out!!" It was a scare tactic to get me to agree to unnecessary services. Absolutely the best dentist office I've been to in TN. They were able to see me during my emergency/last-minute need. They were polite, happy and overall created a great experience through, what can possibly be, some of the worst moments. I have tried numerous times to contact these people about I had some dentures made right when the pandemic came out and I paid him $2000 upfront for my new dentures I am not receive my permanent dentures I only ever received temporary ones and they will not return my call and so I cannot in good conscience recommend these people to do anything dental to your mouth. They have my $2000 and I have no idea what happened to my permanent teeth when the COVID-19 hit. Worst dental office ever. I kept going for many years because we never needed anything more than cleanings and fillings. Staff is rude. Several times showed up for appointments and office was just closed. When I called, no one knew why no one was there. Do what‍. The hygienist Kimber, was finally what broke the camels back for me. This place is a scam operation. In March 2013, I received invisalign braces from Embassy's orthodontist. My dental insurance was covering part of the cost and my out of pocket expense was approximately $3600. I paid $2000 down payment and financed the remaining $1600. In October of 2013 (when I still wearing the braces), my dental insurance changed because my employer changed. In January 2014, right as my invisalign treatment ended, I was contacted by Embassy saying that I owe them $800. Apparently they were billing my dental insurance over time so when I lost that insurance in October 2013, Embassy didn't get the rest of their money. So now Embassy was trying to say it was my responsibility and I owe them that money. Several things: 1.) I was never told that the insurance was being billed over time. There was no reason for me to suspect this because I was billed entirely up front. 2.) I could have kept the previous insurance via COBRA which would have been much cheaper, but I was never informed of the problem until 3 months after that insurance ended and it was too late to get COBRA (which has a time limit of 60 days). 3.) I never signed to or verbally agreed to pay anything more than the $3600. Now Embassy continues to send me bills for $528.11 (notice it's less than the $800 they initially attempt to extort from me). I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, and Embassy was unable to provide any documentation showing that I had ever agreed to pay anything other than the $3600. However, they still refused to clear my bill. So unless you want to be extorted for money you don't owe and never agreed to pay, don't go to this scam operation. read more

This is the worst dentist I have ever been to in my life! The staff is completely unprofessional. I went through pure hell just to try to get a crown done, 5-6 appointments, because they continually experienced "hiccups" (their words not mine). I showed up for an appointment once only to be told minutes before the appointment that a machine was broken. Also, tomorrow was supposed to be my final appointment but now there is another alleged "hiccup." The impressions already had been done, but now they claim that more are needed. I have been going to Embassy Dental for my dental needs since January 2015. From cleanings to getting my braces, I have had nothing but great experience every single appointment. I have been going every 6 weeks since February. The staff is always friendly and call to remind me of my appointments. Even when I was running way late due to car trouble they still accommodated me (that same day). Embassy uses cheaper material for in-house crowns. Sometimes they break within warranty and sometimes they don't. My insurance has a 7 year replacement clause so you get stuck with a large bill if they break. read more

Walk, NO RUN far away from Embassy Dental. There's a thousand other dentists and hygienists in the area that will perform a more thorough service blindfolded, with one hand tied behind their back than this particular office. Their lack of professionalism and deceptive financial practices cuts to the core of what's wrong with facilities such as this, run like Puppy Mills, without regard for immediate and long term consequences. Never in my history have I ever got up out of a chair and walked out. My first. Sadly, to the ill informed, they would have stayed and signed a form agreeing to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket, because Embassy Dental inflated the cost of a deep cleaning by 100% and 300% over my dental insurance reimbursement to them. Bottom line is they are doubling the costs to increase their bottom line at the expense of the patient. Not to be denied, I found a very professional dentist who worked me in, and after an exam, had a cleaning, then scheduled a deep cleaning......My total out of pocket after insurance.....ZERO. Had this company taken the time to inform me of my options beforehand and their exorbitant costs, far and above the norm, prior to my first visit, I would have no need to share my experience. I have a gum disease (according to them, but I'm getting a 2nd opinion) that requires a deep cleaning that's over $300. Of course they can't just give me a regular cleaning... They refused. Think at least twice... This was my first dental experience since moving to Nashville after years with a great private practice in IN. What a world of difference. Start with the 'used car salesman' approach to getting a new patient signed up on a 'treatment plan'. Sadly I didn't leave right then. TERRIBLE. Utterly chaotic office with no sense of timing, organization or customer-consciousness. I had switched to this branch because I hated the care at Embassy on Hillsboro Pike and thought maybe a location change would fix it. Not the case. They ran 40 minutes late for my first appointment, which I had called twice to confirm I needed. I got a "new patient" appointment ($70 for X-rays and to have my chart filled out, NO CLEANING) at Hillsboro less than a year before and didn't see why I needed this one. Once I finally was seen, the assistant promptly informed me that I hadn't needed the appointment after all (as I had guessed) and their receptionist was a moron. (My words, not his. She is also horrifyingly abrupt and rude both on the phone and in person). To placate me, the dentist peered in my mouth and told me he wanted to replace two fillings and fit me for a night guard. I pre-paid for these, scheduled them for the same morning, and left. They called two days before my next appointment (cleaning, fillings, nite-guard fitting) to inform me they were changing my time and couldn't put both procedures back-to-back anymore. I live 40 minutes from this office so I had no choice, despite having to work that day. The fillings went smoothly, but the office managed to lose my nite-guard molds so I had to re-do them and was told to come back in two weeks to get them. I talked them into sending them to Hillsboro because I work close to there. At first they refused, but when I was told my payment of $500 had never been recorded despite a charge to my bank account, I was pretty upset. By the time that was solved, they agreed to transport the molds. On this same note, I had seen a male assistant the first visit whom I was able to describe easily. He was in the office that day. Upon reviewing my notes, the office manager told me the person who charted on my last visit was female. There was never a female in my room and no record of molds being taken at all despite my assurances that I had been gagged and suffocated for them, absolutely. I'm sure that the fact that someone I never saw charted on my file is a form of malpractice. Last, the hygienist asked if I wanted fluoride and I said unless I had pre-paid, I would pass. She went to the desk and said it had indeed been pre-paid. When I went to check out, I was told she had been wrong and the office was charging me because I had received the fluoride already. They eventually waived it after trying to convince me to maybe pay on a payment plan?? This was about the principle of the matter, not the money. If the fact that they have nothing together, will lose your products and your payments, and can't read/record simple notes isn't enough to scare you, I'm not sure what could. read more

I went there 2 years ago, hoping to simply have my teeth cleaned. I was told I had to see the dentist first, so I did. He performed an exam and using their nifty technology showed me that I had "6 cavities". This was surprising as I have never had any before and am in my 30's. I was then told I would have to schedule 2 separate appointments for fillings before I could ever get my teeth cleaned. I felt like I was getting the run around and went to another dentist and sure enough, I don't have any cavities. My family has been going to this office for several years and we have not had a problem yet. My mother had a tooth that was really bothering her and she couldn't find a dentist in her area that would take her care credit so we called this office and they took her right in and even did an unscheduled cleaning for me while I waited for her just so I wouldn't have to come back another time to get my work done. My mother was a little nervous about coming to this office because she had read some of the previous reviews but I told her we had had no problems. She was so thrilled when she left that office! Seen dentist he wanted to save like 4 teeth and when i called back and asked to get all pulled. She stated she had to talk to Doc. I called 3x. They said she was busy. Left messages none returned. Do not go to a chain like this! There is a different dentist/hygienist every time I visit there. They try to upsell things like fillings, pulling teeth, etc that is sometimes not needed. They have tried to scam my insurance out of multiple payments and say that I owe money that I don't. When I have tried to settle my "debt" with them, I can't even do that. If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. My family and I have had so many issues with the billing from Embassy Dental. We have both primary health care insurance, as well as supplementary dental. I was given a quote for a procedure last June, with my responsibility being $250 out of pocket. I postpone the procedure for 2 weeks to make sure I wasn't going to be responsible for any additional amount. On the date of the procedure, I again asked them to run my insurance to make sure billing was correct. I was again told I would only need to pay $250. I have since been billed for an additional $600. They claim they wouldn't have quoted me for services without providing a written estimate of costs-which they didn't. I have asked them to have their dentist call the insurance company, but "that dentist no longer is employed here." This is not the first time we have had billing issues-they routinely have billed us for services that insurance covers at 100%. I have never experienced such a headache with dealing with healthcare services. They refuse to take any responsibility for their billing mistakes. I would take your business anywhere but Embassy. read more
