I went in for a cleaning, They saw a "potential" cavity, Doctor tried to fix it, he ended up killing my nerve. Now I had to not only get a root canal for $500 out of pocket, I not have to get a crown for $675 out of pocket. Made an appointment never received confirmation and received the link for the online paperwork at 9am the day of the appointment. Thought my appointment was at 2pm; it was at 1pm. They were supposed to call after I didn't show 5 minutes into my appointment. Never received that phone call. Rescheduled for 2 weeks later; haven't received any confirmation still. read more

This has been my go to dentist office since I moved to Mount Juliet about three years ago. The staff is here super nice and always accommodating when I have to reschedule an appointment. In fact they send me a text message and a email reminder with the updated appointment info. Their dentist chairs offer TVs both for when you're sitting up and laying down. The TVs have Netflix, Hulu, and music station options to help reduce those anxiety filled cleaning sessions. One of my main reasons for returning to this dentist office is that they are not pushy with sales. They never try to upsell me on teeth whitening or deep cleaning treatments. I read a lot of reviews on Dentist before choosing this one. Most reviews however are on the hygienist and not the dentist. I have a lot of dental work and want to know about the dentist! I'd like to say Dr Gunnels is a very good Dentist. I had one implant replaced and a new one done with a bridge and everything went great. My wife and I have been to many dentists over the last 3 years, looking for our new home. We wanted to go somewhere we felt comfortable, the staff was nice and friendly, the service we received felt quality, and our business felt welcomed. We refused to just go to one dentist's office and then continue going year after year for lack of trying different locations. Finally, we visited Providence. They are all the things mentioned above and more. The front desk ladies are super friendly, the hygienists that perform the cleanings are knowledgable, thorough, and seem to care about your experience while doing a full/complete job and do not rush, and Dr. LaFever is very nice, and from our experience seems to know his occupation inside out and makes every effort to make you feel welcome. We have found our new dentist's office for the long term. I'd highly recommend them! read more

I had my first cleaning with this office about a month ago. I had a such a great experience! I had to go back today to get 2 fillings. Dr. Gunnel worked on me. Hands down the best dentist I have ever been to!! He knew I was a little nervous. My fillings took about 40 minutes to do from start to finish and he talked me through it the entire time he was working on me. He constantly asked if I was ok and comfortable. Dr. Gunnels and his staff are amazing. I've been going there and taking my kids to him for years. My daughter had a broken tooth and they got us in to see him that day and didn't charge anything for the visit. He is very good with explaining things and spending time with each of us. Went here for a teeth cleaning and was very pleased. The entire staff was super nice & friendly and they got me in and out very quickly. The office was very clean and professional, even comfortable for a dentist office waiting room. I generally don't like visiting the dentist, especially since the ones I have visited over the past 7 years have been rude and uncaring but this office has changed that for me. New patient and experience was good. They were running on time and I went back on schedule. No long wait. Hygienist was nice and conversational. Room was conformtable. Offered a blanket in case I was cold and allowed me to choose the the TV station (which was easy to see from the chair and nice distraction). Painless cleaning. Dentist quickly popped in for the exam. Happy he took the time to listen to my questions and have an actual conversation. Didn't feel rushed at all. Was recommended here by a current patient, after the dentist I had been going to for 20 years stopped taking my insurance. The office is brand new and clean. They have the waiting area portioned into several different areas, a typical waiting room, a family area with a tv and toys, a special room for kids, and a living room type atmosphere. This helps with anxiety of going to the dentist because you can separate yourself from everyone else to chill out in whichever atmosphere suits you best. The cleaning rooms are very open which helps with the claustrophobia, and you get a window to look out and a TV over your head to watch. Heather is my dental assistant and as soon as i see her smile before I walk in the back i know I'm going to be taken care of. Dr. LaFever is professional, knowledgeable and funny. He puts your mind at ease with any concerns you may have. The billing staff is great. Everyone here seems to be a 8-5 family. read more

Stay away from this HORRIBLE practice! My child had an emergency with a broken permanent tooth with a nerve exposed. I called to see if they could get her in and was told to come in but we would have to wait to be worked in, which was fine. When I got there I told the receptionist that I would be self pay as I had cancelled my dental insurance. She was one of the rudest people that I have ever encountered in a healthcare office! She rolled her eyes, Was very condescending and rude. When I asked for a basic ballpark figure for what I might have to pay, she got confrontational and rude and told me that there was no way for them to tell me that until she was taken back. I told her I was not going to stay and be treated like she was treating me and without a rough number I couldn't stay. She then called the back office and one of the other ladies came out and as I was asking her the same questions the receptionist was laughing and rolling her eyes. If I could give 0 stars I would! The girl at the front desk is one of the rudest most hateful people I have ever encountered. I came in with my 8 year old child to be seen with a broken permanent tooth, she was in pain and scared. I told her we would be self pay and she rolled her eyes. I then asked for a very rough estimate and she told me that she couldn't tell me that until the doctor looked at her. I didn't want an exact number just a general idea. When I pushed a little about getting a number she called to the back and acted like I was inconveniencing her and she kept rolling her eyes. When she couldn't give me a number I told her I would find another doctor. And set the clipboard on the desk and started to leave. She proceeded to laugh about it over the phone with Katie from time the back, rolling her eyes and making fun of how i wanted a price. I didn't need a detailed bill just weather it would be $100, $500, $1000, $5000. Katie proceeded to come to the front to get us and I told her we would be leaving and would never be back because of the girl in the front. She sat there with her hand over her mouth laughing and rolling her eyes the entire time. Avoid this practice! Horrible!!!! read more
