They came out to talk thru the project and discussed options but no hard sell (which I appreciate). They assign a project manager (Blake in my case) to coordinate and keep things on schedule. However, the heroes of the project were Michael + Jonathan who built our fence. The took out the prior fence and checked in with our 96 yr old neighbor that we share the fence with to make sure he approved. He did! The walked me thru the finished fence and even added a "puppy protector" mini fence to keep our dog contained. They were super respectful, kind and FAST. It looks great and with the great warranty, we couldn't be happier.

The crew was efficient and hard working. The only issue we have is we were told a date and time the crew would arrive. We received a text that morning telling us they would arrive between 8 and 10 in the morning. They did not come and we heard nothing from anyone. The next day we heard nothing. After I called and left a message that expressed my frustration we finally got a returned call. We were told that there was a problem with the supplies not being delivered on time. I understand things happen. What I don't understand is the lack of communication. I will again say we are pleased with the fence. In fact we have recommended the company to our neighbors.

His…read moreestimate was affordable and we felt assured when he came out to see the project as he commented on what was required according to code (apparently our dilapidated decks were not compliant and none of the other contractors we consulted with made mention of this). Bruce confirmed his availability for install beginning in late October at that time and we coordinated via email as that time approached. Bruce and his team do very great, thorough work. They were all very friendly and trustworthy. We are very pleased with our deck replacements and the dry rot pieces they both identified and replaced on our front support columns. Bruce also hung up our new address numbers for us at the conclusion of the project, which was a big help for us! We did not receive an invoice until the very end of the project (after 3 of 4 payments were made), but did receive one nonetheless. Despite this, we don't have any concern about Bruce and his team coming out to repair anything that should arise. Though, we don't expect that to happen based on the quality work they provided. Their focus is on their craft, not the administrative pieces of the business. I highly recommend Shaffer & Sons and will keep Bruce's contact information should we, our friends, or family members require any work completed in the future.

The craftsmanship was corrected, the cleanup concerns were taken seriously, and I appreciated their willingness to own the missteps and follow through quickly. Not every project goes perfectly, but how a company responds makes all the difference--and in this case, they really stepped up. The price was very reasonable for the originally planned work, but in the end it turned out to be a great value for everything they did to get it perfect for us. Jesus is extremely nice and approachable, and he was excellent with communication and check-ins. As soon as they finished the backyard landscaping job today, I signed another contract for them to do our fencing, and we're planning on having them back to improve our sprinkler system next Spring.

I realized I needed help after several hours in the hot sun. After getting bids from three other gardening providers on Yelp, I ended up choosing Joseph. And am I glad I did! He came out and after walking through my overgrown pollinator garden, he gave me a quote which was pretty much consistent with the others. Big difference? He communicates well, he is ethical, he shows up on time, works hard, cleans up afterward. He is also a nice man who cares about the quality of what he does. Joseph is knowledgeable about many plants and trees. To his credit, when he encountered one he wasn't familiar with, he set about educating himself so he would do things right. He pruned my Mock Orange, Oregon Grapes, my Japanese Maple, a wildly out of control espaliered Apple tree, thinned out some fading seasonals, and pulled up a dying azalea I'd tried, but failed, to bring back. Then pulled out the overgrown weeds from my curb and sidewalk to make it all look more tidy. I'll be calling Joseph again, absolutely. You should, too. My before photos aren't uploading after three tries. Hmmmm. Trust me though, things were out of control.

Finally decided to replace our old, falling down wood fence in our front yard. After an exhausting web search, decided to call Embassy Enterprises for a bid. I was impressed with their described unique construction and finish techniques and use of only the best quality materials. We had originally planned to use the 'big box store' fence panels, but wasn't impressed with the longevity reviews past users had given them, so made arrangements for Jason to come over and bid our job. He arrived right on time, took measurements, and told us when to expect our bid with fence options and the price and benefits of each. The bid arrived by email right on time and included 3 or 4 different styles to choose from. We were immediately intregued by the fact that the quoted price was not much more than the material cost of us building the fence ourselves. We chose a picture frame style and a start date the very next week. Our bid was for demolision and removal of our old fence and construction of 39 feet of clear cedar, picture frame fence. Right as scheduled Jason and his construction partner (Morico?) arrived and started the job. Immediately upon trying to set the new posts, it was obvious there had been numerous other fences there as there was lots of old cement in the ground. It took almost a full afternoon to dig up and remove the old cement, but at no time was there ever mention of increasing our bid price due to the increased labor. When the job was finished I can only say that we were impressed beyond any expectations. I do lots of remodel work around our house and must say the fence looked like it was built by a finish carpenter. It is exposed to the street view and is simply beautiful. It far exceeds any expectations we may have had. And the area is cleaner now than when they started. It has been a joy to work with Jason and his team; friendly and professional from beginning to completion and payment. We have a beautiful addition to our home that will obviously last a long, long time. We will use Jason and Embassy Enterprises again anytime we need additional fencing, and recommend him without reservations to our family and friends. I guarantee you won't be dissapointed. If you want the best fence with the best materials installed properly and promptly Embassy Enterprises and Jason is the company to use. During the Dec., 2017 wind storms 40 feet of our fence blew down. We have two dogs so the fence is important. We didn't expect anybody to respond very fast knowing many other fences had been blown down, but we left a message hoping to get on the waiting list asap. We called Embassy on Sunday and left a message. On Monday we talked to the owner, Jason, and gave him the details over the phone. He explained exactly what they would do, including tearing down and hauling away the old fence. He quoted us a price over the phone which was acceptable. The very next day, Tuesday, Jason and his right hand man were here and tore out the old fence and hauled it away, and installed metal brackets for the new posts, each set in 100 lbs of quality concrete. The next day, Wednesday, they returned and installed the entire new fence. The entire job took them 7-8 hours total. They work in all kinds of weather, rain, wind, cold, even snow. The fence is excellent, all quality material, all boards with no knots and every board the exact same width, precisely evenly spaced (a "good neighbor fence") with one side slightly over lapping the other between boards to avoid "see through" space. Posts are attached with strong quality brackets set in 100 lbs. of concrete with post bottoms slightly above concrete so they will not rot in ground and can be replaced if necessary without tearing down the fence. All boards are firmly attached with stainless steel fasteners that will not rust or bleed. Even if the "Big Bad Wolf" huffed and puffed with all his might he could not blow this fence down! Unlike many contractors, Jason was professional in every respect, starting with good communication, followed by prompt response and very fast high quality construction done the correct way. Jason and his team were amazing. We had a weird situation with our backyard. We had a back of the property fence that was falling over and the neighbors fence behind ours was also falling. Jason came up with a fantastic trellis idea as we were at a loss. And the trellis was a lot cheaper than a fence. We ended up doing the trellis, a gate leading into the back yard, and a small fence on the side of the house. Jason got us the estimate when he said he would. The price was more than fair. We decided to go with him. There was a little bit of delay on starting the project due to some unforeseen circumstances. Jason felt so bad however that he gave us a $450 hog wire fence for free. It was included in the original estimate for a garden section in our backyard but we decided to not go with it initially. We were not worried about the slight delay (a week) and the benefit of a new fence was amazing! The work started and ended on time. The guys were professional and cleaned up afterwards. All in all the work was amazing. Great craftsmanship. We are extremely happy with our decision to go with Embassy and will only use Jason in the future and will refer him to all our friends. If quality work, at a fair price, and the work being done by someone genuinely loves his job, is what u are looking for then please consider Jason and his team. We were truly impressed. And in a time where it seems some businesses are just looking for a buck, to have Jason actually looking to save us money is refreshing and appreciated. Than you Jason for the amazing work. Embassy Enterprises impressed me in every way, from the quote to the completed project. This team places the greatest emphasis possible on quality of craftsmanship and they have a great eye for detail. My fence is solidly built and beautiful. I get frequent compliments on it; neighbors have even suggested having a fence-warming party - It's that nice! The fence construction is beyond criticism in every way. This team does not cut corners and they provide the best customer service. They went out of their way in every possible way to make sure every member of my family was happy: from taking extra time to educate me on the finer details of building a quality fence during the quote process, to making extra "blocks" out of the cedar scraps for my kids, to helping me find a way to build a higher fence than I thought I could have, to digging out blackberry roots from the fence line for me, to making sure that there was no way a dog, cat, or chicken can escape my yard, to bringing a thoughtful gift over to the house a few weeks after the project was completed. Believe the reviews! Jason is stellar. I felt a great rapport with him the moment he stopped by our home to offer a bid. It was at the end of a long day, but he was still enthusiastic, very knowledgeable, and offered great ideas, such as installing a double-drive gate between our driveway and back patio. Now, we can get a wheelbarrow or lawnmower in and out of our backyard more easily with a bigger gate. No other contractor had thought of it. Plus, Jason's bid was easily the most competitive, which included removing and disposing of our old, sagging fence. The clear cedar fence Jason and his assistant built is absolutely gorgeous and perfectly plumb. The gates are solid, the posts sturdy. I requested that Jason use metal posts because we've had so much trouble with pressure treated posts rotting. Jason not only agreed, but took the time to paint the metal posts beige so they would blend with the cedar boards. But even more than his building skills, Jason gets gold stars for his patience and conscientiousness in working with one of our neighbors, who was concerned that our fence not encroach on his property (and rightfully so). Jason was very accommodating and even invited the neighbor to inspect the work to assure him the fence was properly placed. By the end of the day, our neighbor was impressed. Jason had won him over. From beginning to end, Jason was great to work with. He responded quickly to my email, called when he said he was going to and came over quickly to give me a bid. He was professional and enthusiastic about the work. As we negotiated what I wanted in a fence and the pricing, he responded to all of my questions and changes quickly and with patience. He gave me new pricing each time, told me the difference in cost between this option and this option. The fence his team built is amazing! I built a double sided fence with an overlap on my side and side to side boards on the other. I wanted a fence that could drown out noise and keep the neighbor kids from climbing it. Jason recommended using a lower grade board on the back side since I wouldn't see it to save me a bit of money. As a woman homeowner, it's sometimes difficult when having work done because you're not always sure who to trust and if they're giving you the best price. Plus, I know some contractors get frustrated when working with a woman homeowner, because they don't care for all of the questions. Jason treated me politely, professionally and with patience the entire time. To be honest, I only got one bid, so I can't compare the pricing. But after meeting Jason, I just didn't really want anyone else building my fence. He was so excited about it, who wouldn't want that guy on the job? The BEST decision my partner and I made when we decided to get a fence was to choose Embassy Enterprises, and Jason, over 4 other fence companies that gave us quotes. First, Jason offered the best quality materials and installation; second, he provided thoughtful suggestions on the design and construction. Every other company gave us a "cookie-cutter" approach without regard to function and aesthetics. Some of the things Embassy Enterprises offers that their competitors don't include: pre-stained posts and rails, strong cement domes where the post meets the ground, tight-knot Canadian cedar fence boards, stainless steel (non-staining) screws to hold everything together, pre-painted rail brackets and gate frames, and excellent site cleanup. What Jason and his team delivered is a gorgeous, VERY durable, well-built fence, that comes with a 1-year warranty. He believes in his install and materials so much that he doesn't require a deposit up front; the payment is due once the fence is completed. The guy loves fences. It's obvious. And he delivers what is promised. This is the kind of person you want to have building permanent structures on your property. His workers are courteous, professional, and very hard-working; and the delivery is beyond anything we had envisioned. If you need a fence built and want the best, Embassy Enterprises is it. Jason is an expert at what he does, he loves building fences and he takes pride in his work. He uses the finest materials leaving an end result that is simply beautiful. We have a well-established yard/garden with a lot of plants/shrubs/tress to work around. Jason and his team took such care in their work that none of our landscaping was harmed. They are so conscientious in their work and their clean up is meticulous. The process, from tear down to finished product, went smoothly from start to finish with Jason keeping us posted at the end of each day's work. Likewise, he took great care in explaining the process and in answering all of our questions. From staining and treating his already pressure treated posts, to hand painting metal hardware such that it is virtually invisible to a bystander, Jason's work is beyond comparison. As if all of this isn't convincing enough, out of the goodness of his heart, Jason offered to haul away part of our neighbor's old, dilapidated fence and to build a new, eight foot section for no charge. He knew the old fence bothered us a lot and that we helped the neighbor out with her yard regularly. He did this just because. I would highly recommend Jason and Embassy Enterprises for your fencing job. I received several bids from a couple bigger fencing contractors as well as from Embassy, and not only was Jason's bid more competitive, but the level of work and quality of materials he described and put into the bid were totally superior to what the others offered. From the first time I met Jason, I was impressed by his passion and enthusiasm for building fences. He clearly took great pride in the quality of work he performed, and he was helpful in giving me some good ideas that we implemented in the project. He is also a really nice guy. Jason and his crew finished the job on time, and they were right on schedule. He did everything he said he would do, and even added some nice design elements at no extra cost, simply because he thought it would improve the finished look of the fence. The end result looks awesome!! I was also pleased that they left the job site very tidy. And here's the kicker: he held back 10% of the job cost for one year until he comes back and does an inspection to make sure the fence is performing and looking good. Who does that anymore?? If I could give Embassy Enterprises 10 stars, I would. It has been said before, but it's true: Jason knows what he's doing and he cares about the work he does. He is a superstar in the customer service department and went above-and-beyond for us. We didn't need to get another quote after meeting with him. He responded super-quickly to my inquiry online, and came out the next day to give us a quote on fencing the yard on our "new" 100 yr old house. Before meeting with Jason, putting up a fence just seemed like a costly necessity. After our meeting I was so excited to see it go up! Now that the fence is in, I couldn't be happier with the quality, look and entire experience. Here is why I recommend Embassy Enterprises in a nutshell: 1. They use beautiful, durable materials 2. Unwavering integrity, innovative practices, peerless construction quality, and superior service are not typically phrases associated with residential construction projects. Jason and Embassy Enterprises are not typical, however, and to say I'm more than satisfied with my recent experience is an understatement. I chose the company for my West Linn home largely based on their numerous five star reviews, but I was also impressed with Jason's communication during the bidding process. He was timely and clear, but also provided me with a full description of the scope of work including the materials to be used, the methods of construction, the timeframe for the job, and the care he would take in keeping the job site clean and secure. The wood Jason used was as free of knots as it gets. It cost a bit more but it's stunning. Construction was engineered to last and is aesthetically gorgeous. Heavy metal post brackets, stainless steel screws and clips; there isn't a nail to be seen and no wood touches the ground. It will last for decades to come. If you're considering a new fence and want superior quality combined with a superior experience, do yourself a favor and contact Jason at Embassy Enterprises. He's a rare find. read more

I can't recommend Jason of Embassy Enterprises enough. Jason loves his fences and it shows He considers them his works of art and when he is done you will agree. When you first meet him he listens to exactly what you want gives suggestions and explains the type of materials he uses and how he will build and design your fence so it will last a life time. After our conversation, and receiving other bids I felt very comfortable going with him. I am so glad I did! I thought ours was a pretty big job ripping out an old fence and putting in new one would take at least a couple of weeks for just two people. Even in the pouring rain it was done in 3 and 1/2 days! Jason and Marisol (sp)? are extremely professional and fast. I am not joking are yard looked better and cleaner after they were done then looked before they started. I bought my first house this autumn and quickly discovered that my neighbor had several dogs, including two growing Rottweilers, with only a 4 foot chainlink fence separating us. Jason came out for a quote the same week I contacted him and spent over half an hour explaining the virtues of different fence styles, types of wood, cedar grading, stainless steel wood screws, proper concrete post anchors, and various other fencey topics. The guy is seriously into fences. He should start a fence podcast. Jason helped me choose the right fence style (with overlapping pickets) to maximize privacy and stability and minimize noise. He showed up on time for the two days it took to construct it. He seamlessly incorporated the previous owner's aborted attempt with his design. He used very high quality wood that had basically zero knots - I'll post a picture when I remember. When it was done, I finally felt like I had my own, private, somewhat quieter backyard. I did get quotes that were lower, but the tradeoffs I would have been making in quality of material, construction, or service were apparent. read more

Jason and his crew build excellent fences designed to last. The first fence we bought from his company for our home was built 5 years ago. Last December, a windstorm snapped 60 feet of an 80 ft cedar and landed the trunk squarely on the fence. The top rail split, and we replaced it. The two posts stood strong (although they were driven into the ground a few more inches.) The fence at home is aging well, with no warps. We just hired Jason again to replace a fence at our rental. It is beautiful, solid, and the crew was efficient and master craftsmen. The renter loved that they cleaned the worksite every day. I read the other reviews before posting this one, and I agree with others' positive experiences. Jason really cares about the work and quality fences. The reason that Embassy Enterprises continually gets those five stars is because they deserve it. They give you good ideas for the best fence for you. Jason then sends pictures of other fence jobs that he has done that will be similar to yours. He says how the fence will be built, and he builds it to these exceptional standards using only the best materials. Marisol, Jason's employee, is a fine craftsman. He makes fence making look easy. He put up 275 ft. of horizontal fencing and the gaps between the fence boards were absolutely straight and true for the entire length of the fence. On a horizontal fence to look good, these gaps need to be perfect and they were. If you want a great looking fence that will last, these are the guys. We were extremely happy with their response to our request, the price, the quality, the promptness, the people and the finished product. Jason and his business partner are the best. True professionals, perfectionist in the best way, and experts in gate design. We had two gates installed, one across the driveway and the second on the side of our home. Jason took his time to explain his process and listened to all of our needs. His price was extremely fair considering the high quality. We couldn't be happier. They look fantastic, he uses the best quality wood and hardware. They really build gates to last, and it is clear how passionate they are about their work. What sets them apart is their commitment to quality. We had a minor adjustment that needed to be made after installation and he was there right away to fix it. He even scheduled time with us to come back out at a later day just to make sure everything is okay. We will definitely be using Embassy in the future to replace some fencing for our next project. We had Jason and his crew rebuild our fence on all three sides of our property. The workmanship and material selection are both top notch. I can tell this new fence will be here for years to come. In fact, we got his contact from one of the neighbors that used him on a different section of their fence over 10 years ago. Working in the architecture field I am very detail oriented. Jason was more than wiling to work through the details with me and figure out solutions that were specific to our fence configuration, including intersecting with a large tree in our back yard. I also bid the work out to other contractors and his prices were very competitive, especially given that he uses higher quality materials. If you are looking for someone to building exactly what you agreed upon, stick to the schedule and at an honest price, Embassy Enterprises is the way to go. read more

Read the eight prior reviews about Jason and Embassy Enterprise before you read my review. Once you have read those reviews you will know exactly how I feel about Jason and Embassy Enterprise. I feel the same way all the others do! He is respectful, reasonably priced, friendly, knowledgeable in his field, he listens, he does exactly what he says he is going to do, and he gets the job done as promised. I called him for an estimate on a 20' by 6' tall fence and I was so happy with his fees I hired him on the spot. I never called another contractor for a bid because I trusted him from the first time I met him in person. He came to my house, gave me the bid, told me what he was going to do, and then did what he said he was going to do. Great experience and the fence, and quality of materials, he used are fabulous. Jason, the owner of Embassy, loves building fences and will only build great looking ones! It's a win for both him and his customers. He completed our job this past week and we are over the moon about his work. These guys are not just fence installers, they are carpenters crafting a fence. What a visual delight to look out of our windows and see the magnificent artistry; our new fences made with integrity, both of workmanship and materials. Follow his recommendations for using the metal post supports, and the clear quality cedar posts, top caps and boards. The fences are straight and level with great sightlines and wonderful looking wood. We set up an appointment time and I arranged to be home during the afternoon to meet him, but 5 minutes before the appointment time he called and said "Sorry, we don't provide refinishing services anymore". I'm giving them one star for responding to my Yelp project and one star for at least letting me know that they weren't going to come and saving me a lot of headaches later when they probably would have quoted the job but then not completed it. From all the reviews it sounds like if you can get them to your house for a simple fence, they may be good, but unfortunately more times than not they cancel or don't show up.

I got her as a…read more9 month old puppy, and she immediately made short shrift of my entire, 25-year-old (pretty rotted) perimeter fence. Not a small job, and an emergency one, because she LOVED running around the neighbors' yards. Lucian and his Dad braved the elements on extremely short notice, and built an entire new fence (mostly in the rain) for a great price. They gave me lots of upgrades, like unknotted wood, and thicker footers, and were incredibly fast and efficient. Its beautiful. That should have been enough, but - no - then my about six months later my back neighbors got their own Bernadoodle puppy, and the two dogs decided they didn't want a fence, so my pitty figured out how to pound her head against the boards until they bowed, then get her jaws on the wood, and tear through it. Lucian agreed that metal roof panels attached to the back fence would probably work (either that or an electric cattle fence), so he and his son came back out with the panels, cut them to fit, and spent a day attaching them, which - it turns out - is not as easy as it sounds. Again, quick service and excellent value. This family business, NW Modern, is fantastic, and I highly recommend them. And yes - it appears the metal roof panels are working!
