They do have a great selection of natural fiber yarns, leaning heavily toward traditional wools. Thankfully, I can navigate yarn stores without too many questions because the single person behind the register was busy chatting with a regular like it was Knitting Group night. My biggest kudos are for two things: 1) the lighting in this store is magnificent. So many times when shopping for fabric in other stores, I struggle to see the true color, the pattern, etc. That is not the case here. 2) the staff is very knowledgable and it is obvious they LOVE what they do. I hate going into a big box store that sells fabric and it is obvious the sales staff doesn't know a bobbin from a tension knob. Do yourself a favor and visit Stitch'n Sew Cottage. Three years ago, I got my friend a zip up embroidered on the front, back, and arms with his fraternity letters, etc. Still three years later it looks the exact same. (Yes, he wears it often) For graduation I got my dad a t-shirt designed to wear at my graduation. I got it with ironed on letters and a year later the letters still dont' have a wear or tear in them. It's AMAZING the work they do. Not to mention that the staff is so sweet, kind, and warm hearted. If you ever have a question they are really good at telling you what they have seen done to t-shirts and what would work well with the fabric. This is nice because they really now their materials and what will look best on it. I really value their opinion! They have a sign that will tell you when things will be finished by if you place your order that day which is nice because they really do stick to their deadlines. If they finish early they'll actually call you to tell you that it's been finished. Overall, this place is truly a gem to Macomb. Not only do they provide good customer service, but they give you a quality product. So I say if you want to save a bundle, but look like you spent a bundle then this is your place. I own dozens of shirts made there, most for my fraternity at Cornell College but the student government and many other student organizations (as well as the college itself) use Barnyard for their screen printing needs. Barnyard doesn't charge large setup fees and is really willing to help fix any problems that come up. When my fraternity sent a shirt to them to be made, and we messed up the colors we wanted printed on it, Gary made replacements in the right color in just two days even though it wasn't his fault! If you're in the area or even as far away as Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, I can tell you that you'll not find better prices or better service anywhere, and their remainder shirts (the ones they test print on that have dozens of random images and logos on them) are really cheap and always eye catching!
