I was informed that the weft contained too little extension hair, resulting in too much of my natural hair being pulled into a single attachment point, creating unsafe tension at the scalp and a risk of traction damage or hair loss if left in longer. This was not an overdue install. It was a recent, full reinstallation. Notably, my bottom row -- which had not been serviced for months (my decision) -- did not show the same level of tension, further indicating the issue stemmed from the installation itself rather than normal wear or timing. This was especially alarming given that the salon recommends repeated "move-ups" (approximately $200 per row), which another stylist explained can compound tension over time and increase the risk of damage when an install is already compromised. When I attempted to ask questions and communicate concerns during my appointment with the stylist, Rylie, who performed the service, the responses felt passive-aggressive and dismissive, making it difficult to advocate for my hair health or feel supported. After leaving an initial, carefully worded review, the salon responded not with accountability, but with defensive and threatening language, including statements that my review was "malicious," "unfounded," and "legally documented."
