I was in Houma for my husband's high school reunion and we met some of his classmates at Ember for cocktails. The bar is expansive and chic. I was impressed by the attentiveness of the bar staff. Took my mom out for her birthday dinner. It was our first time dining there. What a wonderful experience. The service was top notch, the atmosphere is classy and very laid back, and all of the dishes we ordered were absolutely fantastic. We had a really fun night with our waitress Cali. From the focaccia bread with tomato confit and whipped sea salt butter which was one of my favorites, pepper jelly fried shrimp, my mom's entree was a wood fired crawfish Fondeaux pizza out of their brick oven which was our favorite dish of the night. My entree was the seafood manicotti with crab, crawfish and shrimp in a three-cheese blend topped with a red wine bolognese and a side of squash and zucchini noodles. We stopped in about an hour before close. Our sever was pleasant and welcoming. We all ordered different items so we can try one another's. I ordered the chicken and waffles. It was underwhelming to say the least. The chicken was as not flavorful and the waffle tasted like bran. The restaurant, however, is really cute.. I also enjoyed the espresso martinis. read more

What I love the most about this place is not only the food, but the diversity of the front-of-house staff. We tend to go eat in New Orleans - because of the lack of diversity in the fine dining establishments around here. But we have finally found a solid place in town for date nights. The vibe is minimalist, but elegant. The food is solid and so is the staff. The Burrata Pizza and the Smash burger are our favorites. A great addition! read more

Not impressed. Went for Brunch and food came out ice cold. Waitress basically brought it back to kitchen and microwaved it. Also the music is downright obnoxious. Who feels like listening to blaring club music while eating brunch??? The hostess actually admitted that their playlist was "interesting". Totally ruined the atmosphere (we were in the courtyard) and made us want to leave quickly. Won't be back. Oh and the owner just opened El Barrio in Thibodaux and the music is just as annoying. We aren't at a club, we are at a restaurant!! Pick better music. read more

Entering the new restaurant on a Friday night at 7:30, it literally sounded like walking into a night club in Miami. Decent music, loud as all hecken. They had a few bigger parties, doesn't seem like much room for tables for dining. Nextdoor there was what seemed like a gigantic bar, I didn't get to go and look but it seemed massive. There's also some outdoor seating of which I also didn't scope out. Our server was nice, most staff/servers seem to be very young men and women. Started our group of 5 with the bread board and the spinach dip. I personally didn't care for the crab and spinach dip but that was only my second time ever having that, and the bread was pretty good! Didn't get a picture of the actual board but they had butter and some oil as you see on the bread...I did enjoy that. We got different things so we can all try each others, getting the pizza, smash burger, chicken sandwich, and a ribeye. I didn't get to try the ribeye, and not knocking any of the other entrees, but the pizza was my personal favourite out of the 4. Obviously wood fired...it was super tasty, the sauce, great cheese, pepperoni, I really liked it. The smash burger..not too much of a traditional smash burger but it was alright. Special sauce was good and had a hint of spice behind it, as well as caramelized onions...always a great addition. I don't remember seeing or tasting any jalapeños though. The hot chicken sandwich was also okay, definitely had a little kick behind it but not nearly too hot to handle. Nice piece of chicken and very nice crisp to the outside and the cabbage was nice too. The fries were also okay, not sure what was up with cheese sprinkled on top but they were alright. The lights a little dim, music in the background louder than just background music, it's a decent vibe in there and I'm sure the bar is better. The appetizers took a little while but everything else was much quicker. Overall not a bad experience at all, and it does seem like a little bit of higher class than just basketball shorts and a t-shirt than I like. read more

For an alleged small town gem, this establishment is being run into the ground. most in part by the manager, Cassie. Cassie was extremely rude to several of our guests. additionally, the items served were not to our liking at all. We will never return to Ember and I hope to save you from waisting your time and money at this establishment. read more

Restaurant was very clean. The staff were welcoming with smiles and the service was quick. The food tasted fresh, we watched our pizza be made right next to us in the brick oven. My burger was excellent, cooked just right. read more

I really want to like this place. It's local to me and in a good area. The layout is great and the back patio is fantastic. The service is really good as well. It's the food that is the problem. I've been here twice. Last time we ordered the lump crab dip and it was really salty. The pizza I got was good. This time we got the smoked fish dip and that was pretty good. I'd get it again. But we got the fish and it was overdone and dry and the risotto was under cooked and salty. I can actually deal with undercooked. Not a huge deal. But whoever is handling the salt back there needs to be barred from ever seeing the shaker again. Fish over risotto should be the simplest ingredients and easiest to prepare. Especially where we are. I'll probably come back because of location and I do like things here. But damn, enough with the salt. read more

A Rotary Club group of 24 walked into Ember Kitchen for a dinner to celebrate the outgoing and incoming slate of officers. The customer service was exceptional, the waitresses delightful and the food extraordinary. I had the shrimp remoulade salad with a substitution of romaine for the iceberg lettuce. It was sinfully delicious. EK has a lovely ambiance and full service bar. I highly recommend it. read more
