We have been traveling through Louisiana for a few weeks and we were looking for something for lunch that was different than the delicious red beans, po boys, etc. Mike's hit the spot. It is the type of restaurant where you order at the counter, they give you a table number and then drop off your food when it's ready. There is indoor seating at tables and a well stocked full bar. Outside seating is also available. We chose inside, in hindsight sight it was a beautiful day and we should have sat outside to avoid smelling like a smokehouse when we left. Our food was very good. I ordered the smoke house salad with smoked turkey and raspberry dressing. My husband ordered the smoked 1/2 chicken with baked beans and potato salad. The salad was very generous and the turkey was moist and delicious. The raspberry dressing was a little too sweet but still good. The chicken thigh was very moist and as would be expected the breast was not as moist. Still good but a little drier. My husband tasted my turkey and said he would make a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving if he could the breast meat as moist as Mike's! All in all a good experience. Fellow Yelpers did not steer me wrong!!! High quality Q in the Deaux. Brisket is amazing. Yardbird was smokey, moist and tender. Ribs were meaty and fall off the bone. Roasted green beans were very unique and delicious. Mac was delicious. Staff is courteous and prompt. Great place. read more

Did I drive all the way here to try this place? Yes! Was it worth a 45 min drive? Absolutely! I have been meaning to try this place for a while and the cards just happened to play out. Upon walking up, there were many ppl here so I knew we were in for a good time. Walk in, place your order, and they will bring it to you. There is also a bar you can walk up to and the tvs are playing the sports games. We enjoyed the bbq we ordered. Brisket was delicious and was our fave. The baby backs were also good but they were lukewarm. Would have been better if warm but I'm sure they were made a couple of hours earlier or so. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the jambalaya as it was dry. Have a beer, enjoy the game while munching on some bbq. Great staff as well! read more

One of my friends recommended it. Well actually he asked me to pick up a plate for him. I had the 2 meat plate with baby back ribs and turkey, with jambalaya and mac&cheese. I love the food here, come here quite often. As a rule of thumb I never try and go to a place 15 mins before they close just feels like a jerk move. So it's 45 mins before you guys close 7:45 I call to place a Togo order no one picks up. I call again and again I call three times total each time letting the phone ring for the whole 2-3 mins. Finally I make the drive to Thibodaux because of course the one in Houma doesn't have the stupid Nachos I want. So I drive the 20 mins to get here. I get here at fricken 8:10 Walk in like an ass and have to order it in person and wait 20-30 mins all while the staff is very visibly aggravated and annoyed they gotta be here after close. All this could've been avoided if they would've picked up the dang phone. Wouldn't be waiting and they coulda made the food 20 mins earlier with enough time to clean the dang grill and leave at the regular time. But no they apparently lower the phone volume when it gets busy according to the cashier. Only reason you get three starts is because the food is actually delicious but it's dumb not to have the FRICKEN NACHOS AT BOTH LOCATIONS!! read more

Very good experience at Big Mikes BBQ on a Saturday evening. Great and playing outside, but we opted for the air conditioned inside. The service was exceptional. All of the meats were very good. Both the jambalaya and Mac and cheese were excellent. We will definitely be back. read more

Always a great meal. Service is fast! Employees super friendly! I usually order curbside or I go in to pick it up. But when I go in it seems to be a nice atmosphere. Sometimes it can be a little loud. They will have the music or a band playing and it can get loud. Many people probably like it that way. We decided to try this place and we were hoping for the best, because Thibodaux is tiny...Big Mike's had an outdoor dining patio, and on that night, there was live music. As soon as we walked in, around 8:00 pm, we were told they were out of brisket, turkey, baked potatoes, and some other items. We were bummed but they still had plenty of options. My son and I got the pulled chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, and coleslaw. My husband got 1/2 a rack of ribs with fries. Portions were huge - these were real, ample sized ribs! Our sandwiches were also huge, just a tiny complaint - there were a bunch of little bones in my chicken. I pulled out at least 5. But other than that, the sandwich was good. My husband and I used to eat at Big Mikes at least once a month. The food has always been cooked perfectly and SO good. However, 2 out of the last 3 visits, my BBQ chicken has been burnt. Once where it was so dried up I couldn't even eat it. Very disappointing considering the prices. We are driving an hour and a half (each way) to get there. We saw the Thanksgiving deal last month so we decided to try it. Our pick up time was 3:00 but we ended up getting there at 2:00 ( didn't know how traffic would be). My husband goes in to pick up our order, one girl tells him it's ready go to the other counter. That witch at that counter said, you have to come back at 3:00. So we had to sit in the parking lot for an HOUR before we could get it. Food was great but after that episode, we may not be back. Did I mention we live an hour and a half away?! read more

Whenever we are in the Thibodeaux area, we always make it a point to visit this restaurant/sports bar. Although it is usually crowded, we ordered at front counter and found indoor seating immediately. They also have a covered patio outside. Several TVs for viewing. THIS IS THE BEST BARBECUE I HAVE HAD IN SOUTH LA, rivaling the popular places on TX. It is worth the 90minute drive from NOLA! YES YES YES YES!!! This place is on point! This is by far the best bbq/smoked meat place I've ever been to. The flavor is perfect. Biggest thing to me about bbq/smoked meat is that you don't over season. People tend to over season and then it's too much season and smoke flavor. Blah! First the meat: The meat is super tender and melts in your mouth. Again there is a great smokey flavor that is only accented by seasoning. The portions are huge. I made 3 meals of a 2 meat plate. They bring a knife but believe me you won't need it. It just pulls right apart. The bark on the brisket is amazing. Sides: I have not had a side I didn't enjoy yet. The baked beans taste homemade, the mac n cheese is tasty and creamy, the fries are crisp, the green beans are perfect. Sauce: There are two sauces on the table. They accompany the meats perfectly. It's hard to decide which sauce to use. I usually put both on my plate and go back and forth dipping. There is a bar with amazing draught beer and also wine. There is no hard liquor though. #21/2022 MMMM Oh you can smell it from the truck stop We smoking barbecue. And believe me the aroma beckoned and wafted and called me. Last time I put a review up here was in December of 2019 in the beginning of the month before the world would change with covid I had videos I had pictures and a whole lot more so I'm going to be including some of those again LOL. Based on the Houma Louisiana this thibodaux location is a great quality as far as I'm concerned for some good barbecue. Wow it's going through its changes with staffing it does close a lot earlier than it used to like a lot of places but it is what it is. But if your belly is rumbling and you're hungry and you want to get your serious barbecue eat on; sit down and wear your sauce stains proudly on your shirt lol. Last time I was here I was stuck for the weekend so I was able to have some cold ones it's amazing when I look back at my Google photos the pictures I could pull up just by using thibodaux as the location and there they are I knew I helped it before but oh well? After having once again delivered to John Deere and picked up a preloaded trailer at the John Deere plant here in thibodaux headed right back up to Iowa my belly was grumbling and I said you know what I'm going to go to Big Mike's I may not have a three meat combo I may just do a 2 meat or sandwich so I walked in and it was before dinner crowd it wasn't very crowded at all. I peruse the menu board and opted for it to meater. Last time I was here I went with the ribs the brisket and the barbecued shrimp according to the pictures LOL This time I went with the sliced brisket and the sausage along with the yummy beans french fries and diet coke cuz I had to drive LOL. One thing that changed looking at the old pictures versus today's are their french fries they no longer have the classic French fries they have more of the little shoe string fries like Steak and shake but they were tasty. The beans were nice they had some pulled pork in them the brisket was fantastic almost like buttah. And the sausage was yummers. So once again I left very satisfied it was very clean inside the bar wasn't very crowded it was kind of cool though they have all the tappers from what they've served and a big display where if they ever said to serve it again but it makes it really cool wall art to me I'm easily amused. Also the menu board is very cool too it took a lot of time to write that bad boy out they still have paper menus you could grab but during these times it covid there's still a lot of things that have that come back to normal. But I walked out of there asking if they can wheel me back to my truck as usual cuz I ate too much but it was all good. So if you ever down here on the bayou whether you're Houma or here in thibodaux stop by and hit up Big Mike's you won't be let down quality is still great so therefore I give the full five bars of stars. read more

Actually surprised by this place. I live in Dallas, Texas and quite familiar with Smoked bbq. This place was amazing! I've heard it's a hit/miss place, but the day I visited, they were right on.
