We are visiting from out of state with our almost 15 yr old golden retriever who has lost 95% use of her back legs. I reached out to Emberton House Call Vet Clinic due to her not moving well and seemed overall sad. Dr. Emberton made room in her busy Monday to stop by and meet/check out Mae--I had mentioned that the visit could turn into an end of life visit. Mae is not one to warm up to strangers quickly, but right away she felt safe with Dr. Emberton. Dr. E was calm and gentle examining Mae on the front porch. After learning more about Mae from me and the exam, Dr Emberton was confident saying that today was not "her(Mae) day". Dr. Emberton took the time to explain her findings and thoughts from seeing this situation over the past 30 years--new town, new temporary house, many family and other pets coming for visits. Dr. Emberton never rushed the visit and made sure all our questions were answered. She let us know, she would come back anytime. Dr. Emberton and her team are wonderful. A rare find--a jewel. I can't say enough about the veterinarian, Alice and her assistant, Linda. Alice has been in practice as a veterinarian for over 25 years and she is the most loving, caring and knowledgeable veterinarian that I've ever met! I had six cats, so I found it to be much easier to have her come to the house to vaccinate all of them, at the same time, rather than loading them all up to go to the vet. Unfortunately, my Molly Mae became ill and needed to be euthanized. Alice said a beautiful prayer and was very sensitive to my needs. I highly recommend her for all of your veterinary needs. Afterwards she recommended Companion Pet Cremation Services. They returned Molly Mae to me in less than 24 hours. read more

I have lots of cats. I am a crazy cat lady. One of my cats has horrible allergy problems and is my problem child who will not under any circumstance get in a carrier without a ton of stress and anger, so I had to find someone who would come to me. Dr. Alice and Linda have helped her out so much. They are kind, caring, honest and don't like to do anything unnecessary for your pet. Dr. Emberton was nothing short of amazing! She and her lab assistant Linda showed up earlier than I expected (had an opening a day early and called me to see if that worked for my schedule). They were very attentive and loving towards both my pups, on top of performing a vet exam quickly and thoroughly. Both of my dogs have high anxiety and don't do well in waiting rooms at the vet offices, so this turned out to be the perfect way to have their yearlys done without the hassle. You helped me put my Schnauzer Simon down a couple of weeks ago, and you were the kindest soul, the best vet one can imagine. I was still unsure about taking a life (according to the Bible,) and you were able to reassure me about the Biblical side (by actually quoting verses) and that his quality of life was bad then, due to get far worse. Being forced to lose a beloved fur-child is the closest thing to hell that I can imagine. You and your assistant eased us over that terrible moment, and even kept Simon himself calm and at ease (especially cause he was in his own home, his own place - in my arms.) I just wanted to update my review with another aspect of pet care: end-of-life care. One of our cats became seriously ill abruptly while we were out of town. She was in great pain and there was no chance of recovery, so we had to put her to sleep. Alice and her assistant Linda were a great comfort during this experience - they really helped us through one of the toughest things that has ever happened to us as pet owners. They rearranged their schedule to make an emergency call to our house and then helped us through the process. Again, I recommend them without hesitation. read more

Yesterday Dr. Emberton and her assistant Linda saw my three dogs for annual stuff for the first time. It was the best home vet care I've ever had. They communicated well with me before the appointment and were professional, patient and good humored about my rowdy pack. I loved the fact that they could do all of the heartworm testing, immunizations, Metro tags, and prescriptions right in my living room, though they do see some pets in their traveling exam van. Dr. Emberton gave me some advice that is going to save me (no joke!) HUNDREDS of dollars this year in preventive treatment. For three large dogs (including one out-of-control Pyrenees mix who required sedation for a nail trim), blood and fecal heartworm testing, more than a year's supply of heartworm prevention medicine, four months of flea and tick prevention medicine, all the usual shots, plus full physical exams and the $45 housecall fee (one charge based on my 37212 zip code), my bill was $686. Less than I would have paid carting these beasts to my former Green Hills Vets and 100x less stressful for me and the dogs to keep them at home. Plus she takes credit cards including Amex, so I earned reward points! I found Dr. Emberton by a web search and had never met her before yesterday, so this is truly an impartial review. What great luck to have found a compassionate affordable DVM who makes housecalls!!! read more

I have used them for years. Both Dr Alice and Linda her assistant are knowledgeable and very kind to animals. They are accessible by phone between visits if I have questions or problems. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs. It is wonderful to not load them up in multiple trips to go to the vet, but rather have "group" visits right here at home. I had to let an older kitty go a few years ago. Dr Alice and Linda came to my home and we prayed, cried, and sent her to heaven. What a relief to not have had to drive her to the vet one last time ( she always got sick in the car ) and bring her lifeless body home. My animals are getting wonderful care, and all of the transportation stress is gone, for them and for me. read more

We were in dire need of medical treatment for a Feral cat that we had been taking care of for years and had finally got her inside for the past year and a half. After leaving several messages for all of the Mobile Vet Clinics Dr. Alice and Linda were the only ones that contacted me while they were on vacation! Ask me to send pictures and sent numerous texts. We thought Tripod (yes, her name was Tripod, as she had lost one of her legs in a terrible accident) just had an abscessed tooth, but unfortunately, turned out to be more serious. The other issue with Tripod was trying to catch her for treatment. Dr. Alice & Linda were fantastic with taking they're time with everything from getting her to the examination table, explaining the type of cancer & prognosis and the end of life care. They even transported her to be cremated by Faithful Companion, another wonderful service. They are Wonderful and have recommended them to everyone I know who has pets. read more

I have used emberton many times. They have taken care of my cat and dog. When it was time they came to our house to put two of our dogs to sleep. It was very peaceful. It is so nice to not have to take your animal to a strange place at the end of their lives. They get to be comfortable and safe in a place they are familiar with. Every experience has been great! Five stars is not enough! We were referred to Dr. Emberton by two different vets when we needed someone to come to our home to euthanize our elderly and very ill cat. Dr. Emberton rescheduled an appointment to accommodate us after I explained out situation. She was gentle, kind, informative, and respectful. She helped our daughter understand why we needed to take this step and talked us through the process. While the initial sedative took effect she and her assistant went outside to allow us privacy. They took care of contacting the pet crematory service, which arrived promptly. The cost of the service was reasonable and not much different than I would have expected if we had taken our pet to the vet's office. Dr. Emberton made a horrible ordeal bearable and I will be forever grateful for the care she took with our young daughter. We were so impressed that we are considering having her take care of our other pets even though we have been pleased with the vet clinic that is five minutes away from our house. read more
