Not knowing any of the massage therapists, I simply chose one at random and lucked out with Marcus Kelly, a recent graduate. He was kind, professional, and had that easy Maritime way with conversation. We consulted on some stiffness in my neck and shoulders and he set to work. I had a wonderful experience and emerged feeling lighter and more flexible. He also gave me good tips about my posture. One thing he mentioned - a pro tip, if you will - is that if you book a massage with him at the Westin (the same company operates both sites), you get access to the pool and the gym also! Will definitely look into that for next time!

Then I found this place and all the reviews were great, which made me a little suspicious. However, I discovered that these reviews for here were true. This is a no games, no funny-business place. Anna was my masseuse and did a fantastic job. She was not only respectful and professional but her technique was incredible. This was the best massage I've had in a long time. This clinic is also a 10 minute walk from my work which is great. At this facility you can get acupuncture or a massage. I was greeted by the Acupuncturist and she made me fill out a few papers. After that I was promptly brought to her room. She took the time to ask me about my concerns and proceeded with needles, cupping and a massage. Personally I did not feel a big difference but keep in mind it was my first appointment. I have a follow up. Let see how that goes.

My rheumotologist and neurologist both suggested I try acupuncture to see if it could offer any relief. Let's be clear - being poked with long needles is not my idea of a good time. I had no idea how this treatment could be relaxing or helpful, but I'd heard so many good stories so I decided to give it a try. After asking around, several people suggested I head to the massage therapy clinic at the Algonquin College gym. What? Algonquin College has a massage therapy clinic that isn't run by students (they do have a student-run one as well, but that's for another review)? Yes, yes they do. It's tucked away underneath the massive staircase that leads up to the gym. Anyway, after making an appointment with Dar Blue (yep, that's her real name!), I anxiously awaited my appointment. Dar was friendly and calming and explained the procedure to me, making ti very clear that acupuncture doesn't work for everyone, but that is can affect some people quite dramatically. She mentioned I might feel dizzy or ill afterwards. Yeah, I was terrified. She started with a relaxation massage, and I honestly didn't even notice when she started to insert the needles. It was totally painless. I had no adverse reactions, just relaxation and a zen-like feeling (no, I'm not a hippie). Afterwards Dar helped me with a lot of stretching techniques and told me that if I felt any effects it would be within the next 24-48 hours. I felt a lot better - less pain for sure. I'd recommend giving acupuncture a try if you suffer from any kind of chronic pain, and Dar is a great place to start.

At 10:00 AM, I was escorted from the lobby to the treatment table, where I waited for 20 minutes before the physiotherapist arrived. After a brief 10-minute conversation, she left to assist another patient, leaving me waiting. This pattern repeated several times during my session. In total, I only spent about 25 minutes with the physiotherapist before the session ended at 11:00 AM. However, I was given an invoice for a full hour. After I explained my experience to the receptionist, the bill was adjusted to a 45-minute charge. The clinic appeared very disorganized, and the physiotherapist was frequently distracted with other patients. I was very dissatisfied with the service and will not be returning. I would not recommend this clinic.

He is great with doing a good analysis and creating a workable plan for you. I have had shoulder and back pain for years and until recently I have been able to have it under control with Nish help. He does a mixture of therapy and exercises and some acupuncture therapy to help with the pain and discomfort. I highly recommend this place. Note parking the street allows for a nice walk to the clinic. There is an elevator in the building and is accessible.
