And then when I went to the actual Emerald City Building and got help the next day , after I told the main guy there what happened, to look on his face was like he couldn't believe it. I have an older car and should've changed the fob and key months ago. The guy said to come in later in the day. I waited for other customers. No big deal. I had a bad battery and failed to mention this thing. Anyway, it was done later than usual because of other customers but they got it going and even went beyond 100% I feel so much better now. I realize that waiting is not okay in doing an errand but I didn't mind at all. What they do is very important! My car was ready and worked great and the keys fit great. Barry was absolutely the best. I recommend his services to everyone. He was not prepared, no fault of his own, for the issue I had. My key was stuck in the ignition and I couldn't do anything with it . I couldn't turn it on, off, remove it, nothing. Thru Triple AAA, they contacted Emerand City Locksmiths and sent Barry out. He didn't have the info stating my key was stuck in the ignition, but he took it all in stride. He was patient, very polite and kind. He had to remove the ignition and take back to his shop, after making sure it was okay with me, to rebuild my ignition lock. He was fast in repairing it and quickly had it put back in the car. I was extremely concerned what the cost was going to be, but he let me know beforehand so I knew if I would be able to afford it. I don't have "emergency money", but the amount he quoted was affordable and less than I imagined. Being an issue I have never even heard of, also a real pain because my windows were down my son had to sleep in the car since it happened the night before, Barry made the fix easily and with no hassle. Our house was broken into and a key was stolen, so we needed our locks changed ASAP on a weekend, an hour and some change before closing. Went in this morning to get a second transponder key for my wife's new (used) car. They had the correct key blank and fob on hand and were less expensive than their competition. When they went to program it, they had issues getting the key to work...after troubleshooting for a good while, they figured out there was a bad fuse which was stopping the new key from being programmed. They fixed the issue, got the new key working, and charged us less than quoted despite the job taking more time than they would have expected. I called him back about 3 times with some changes to the job and he was super cool and patient with me on each call. My garagec entry door was locked and stuck closed. The door knob was locked and couldn't be opened. I called on a Saturday and was told what the cost would be and was also told if I could wait until a weekday it would be less. I agreed to wait til a weekday. The young woman who showed up got the stuck mechanism out and replaced it in short order. It was strange though that she had her own locksmith business and apparently contracts out to Emerald. I wandered into Emerald City Locksmith today, and I explained that the ignition in my car was stuck in the "on" position, that I wanted to remove the ignition, but I had no tools to remove the sheared bolts that held the ignition on the steering column. The 3 locksmiths in the shop clearly and graciously explained a few tips on how to deal with the situation. Their tips worked like a charm, saving me at least a $60 tow to a mechanic. I then brought in my ignition key lock for a diagnosis. Using my old car key, they made another that unlocked the key lock (!), saving me from replacing the ignition. Competent, friendly, and timely service! Ralph, the owner, responded to our late night call and came to our home past 10 pm to create a new lock for our door, so we could get in. He worked quickly and was very focused on doing it well. He was also diligent about verifying that I was indeed the resident/homeowner, requesting paperwork such as bills with my name and home address, as well as drivers license.
