Witnessed a driver run a red light on Irving Road. Thankfully my kids know to look both ways.

Their driver told my apartment complex they couldn't see a sticker in my window and towed me. There was a sticker there the entire time it was visible when I picked the vehicle up. The apartment management reviewed the issue and agreed the sticker was present and this shouldn't have happened. They asked that I reach out to them. I sent them an email which went ignored. Seems like a bad faith response on their part. If you have a problem they may ignore you and not deal with it other than maybe some lip service. So take your chances with them if you like or use someone who can actually be responsive and responsible for their actions. My opinion of the company is they are dishonest and unresponsive. This company is the worst, they prey on college students and take their cars, even when there is a parking pass present. Whoever picks up the phone is incredibly unprofessional, he sounds to be on drugs or sleeping perhaps. They hold cars hostage, even when the property managers state that there was a mistake and ask for the cars to be returned. They have been known to go and yell at property managers for attempting to right a wrong and help in getting their residents' cars returned to them. Their fees are ridiculous and they are impossible to work with. They target college students, even when they are parked lawfully because they know that college students will have a hard time fighting them and they know that they can just keep adding fees since college students don't have the money to pay it back immediately. So I will start off with this, my car was towed. I was wondering how it could since I pay for a permit parking with my apartment complex. So I call the number listed in the parking spaces and find out my car has been towed. Im annoyed and angry, since I display my permit from my rear view mirror. I arrive at the towing company with the money in my pocket plus the extra for the after 6pm fee, since its beyond business hours. I understood that. On the way over, I start to think maybe the permit was not being displayed, so I started to assume it was my fault for this tow. I arrive, hand the money to get my car back and ask to see the car to locate the permit. James (the owner) and I look in my car from the outside with a flashlight and do not see the permit anywhere to be found. Thats when I realized that it was in the glove compartment that I forgot about. I admitted to my mistake, took the permit out of the glove compartment and put it back in its right spot. James confirms with me that I have my recipe. He then hands back ALL the money I gave him, and told me "I see it was in your glove box, try to remember to keep it on the mirror next time" I am so happy that James was such a nice person in letting me off with a warning from a mistake that I had made. This outfit came and towed my daughter's car from her registered parking space. She had to pay $300 to get the car back. When she tried to drive it home the car was suddenly rattling and scraping the street. The tow truck had gutted the underside of the car. Upon bringing this to EVT's attention, they immediately denied any responsibility nor agreed to share before and after photos. When they finally agreed to share photos, all images shared the same time stamp...they were all from the same time and none showed the bottom of the car. I have reported them to the state. They are completely unprofessional in both their inability to properly tow cars or how to offer any kind of customer service when faced with people whose cars they've damaged. I have had a great experience with this business. My daughters car got towed by mistake from the apartment complex while she was out of town. The apartment complex refused dealing with the issue saying it was my daughters fault by not placing a permit in the window, which was not provided to her the first place. By the time she got back to town she was supposed to pay over $700 in fees to get her car back. She had no money and was devastated. I called the emerald valley towing explaining the whole situation and I was amazed with the level of humanity and understanding I never thought I would experience from the towing company. I understand working for a company where you have to check parking passes for apartments being your job. I also understand that there is no reason when someone is telling them that they have the current parking pass, and your driver James was incredibly rude to them, they did have the right parking pass but your employee refused to believe them while being extremely rude. He was asked to back up because he was clearly within six feet, and stated to the female " that he didn't have to". This company is greedy and don't care about you. I called them 4 different times about getting my car (it was towed because I parked in a reserved spot which I know is fully my fault) and each time I called they kept leaving information out about the price of picking up my car. First they said it was gonna be $350 if I pick it up the night it was towed, said it'll be $300 if I pick it up the next day. so that's what I was planning on doing. Once I called to pick it up the next day they said it's going to be $355 to pick it up because it's past 5pm even though this was never mentioned prior. So instead of it originally being $350 the night it was towed it would've been $405 because of the extra $55 past 5pm. They were never once consistent with the pricing and do not make any of the process easy. They don't care about you, all they want is money so they will hide anything they have to from you to get as much money as possible. Horrible people and horrible company. read more
