I'd like to start by saying that Susanne (Property Manager) as well as the Maintenance workers were…read morealways very friendly - As you'll see in other reviews, this is genuinely true. The issues ive had with the apartment started over this past year. To Start - When you move in, you dont get to see your exact unit until you are given the keys and move in. You are shown a Model unit, which looks nothing like the units up for rent. Upon going over details of each unit - I was told my apartment would have new carpet and the hardwood laminate floors in the kitchen. This was not the case, Within the first few seconds of walking in the APT i was on the phone with the manager, as the carpet was not new AT ALL. Stains all over the carpet, edges were frayed, and the kitchen was a cracked old black and white tile which i wasn't happy with at all. They sent out people to have the carpets cleaned, and even after the stains were very visible. Drawers and cabinets were filthy, and dont get me started about in between the counter and stove... Earlier this year, i requested to have the hardwood laminate installed in the kitchen, and was charged an extra $30.00 on top of my rent each month. The next issue i had was with Heating, the winter of 2017 My furnace went up, maintenance told me it was from it being so old, which if you ask me should be inspected before a tenant moves in. I was without heat for a week, however they did bring me small space heaters, which didnt do much at all - but it was appreciated. The space heaters also ended up being taken from my unit because other units had the same issue with their heat. The Next issue being my bathroom ceiling, I had extreme flooding from the ceiling and air vent from the tub in the unit above me. This was covered by a terribly rough patch job. The entry/ hallway of the building is supposed to be cleaned on a weekly basis (per management) and honestly, ive been here nearly two years, and have probably only seen it cleaned maybe 3-4 times. The breaking point, where i decided it was time to leave was when i was notified in August that i was not able to use my washing machine, kitchen sink, or dishwasher as the unit below me had a pipe burst and it needed to be repaired. I was told this would be fixed asap, and it was not fixed until Late September. This was incredibly inconvenient as you can imagine, especially considering the amount of rain we were getting. I had to drive 30 min to my parents house to do my laundry, and then lug all of my laundry into the apartment through the rain. Wouldnt be a big deal if there was actually parking up front of the building. But there is literally never any parking, Me and my sister always have to park 4 buildings down in the guest parking. They recently changed the parking passes from a paper one to a nice sticker to put in the window. However, tenants are using BOTH of these so they can have their guests park up front!!! This was my first apartment, i dont regret it as it was a learning experience - however, i would not recommend living here to anyone until they properly update the units. ***edit*** I do not recommend living here AT ALL!!!! My security deposit was $500, I just received a check for the deposit in the amount of $43! They are charging me for new carpet, when the carpet was not new when i moved in! I had the carpets professionally cleaned the same day i did the walk through, I paid Stanley Steemer over $300 to deep clean the every room in the apartment. During the walk through, the manager pointed out two small stains in the guest bed room - and said a small piece of carpet would be pro-rated and i was perfectly fine with that, considering it should have been between $30-50 - I am being charged over $400 for new carpet throughout the entire apartment! Again, The carpet WAS NOT NEW when i moved in! I was here for nearly two years, Plus the tenants time before me, This apartment was due for new carpet anyways! Carpets in apartment units life span is between 3-5 years. On top of that, the carpet is VERY cheap. I paid their ridiculous termination fee, and still got screwed over with my security deposit.

Since I've moved in, issues I've had: - Mice on my balcony…read moreand in my heating vents. - My doorknob, while unlocked, wouldn't open, so maintenance had to destroy the knob, literally tearing it off, to get me into my apartment and then replace it. Only for the replacement to still have issues with sticking, though not as badly. - Towel and toilet paper rods fell out of the wall. - One of my windows that should open, doesn't. - Several of the people I know in the complex have experienced flooding from other units and from pipes bursting. - The appliances that were installed during the renovation are cheap. The stove drawer doesn't stay in its groove. - You will hear your neighbors through the heating vents. - The carpeting isn't even and there are unusual bumps that you'll feel walking barefoot/with socks. - You have to pay extra for the gym (and I'd guess for the pool too). - They mention the flat rate utility fee (that covers trash), but then don't tell you there is ALSO a water and sewer fee, which has been about $20 per month for each. - While you are *in the grace period* for paying rent, you will receive a notice on your door telling you you're being charged a late fee and will be served for eviction if you fail to pay your rent. The only nice thing I've experienced is quick maintenance turn-around, but don't be fooled. The apartments are falling apart and you're the one paying for it twice over. Everyone that I've met who lived here has ended their lease and found somewhere else to live, just as I will be doing. Make sure you give 90 days notice. Most nickel and dimed I've ever been.

I had to send the property manager pictures of my daughter for them to put windows that actually closed all the way. I made several complaints about the mold in the bathroom, they would come and caulk over the mold. I went an entire week without heat. They gave me space heaters to use and those blew the fuses. Finally after threatening to call the housing authority, they magically found time to replace my HVAC unit. Wasp constantly got into my unit, even after they replaced the windows. The entire courtyard is swarmed with wasps nest. Constantly had ants. The unit we moved into was absolutely nothing like the leasing office model they show you. Now, they claim they sent me my security deposit/statement of charges, but they have not which is highly illegal. Because she made an "oversight." Not sure an oversight is going to fly with a judge. Now I have no choice but to sue them for three times the rent in addition to legal fees which will be a nightmare but they can just break landlord tenant laws over and over and get away with it. Run far far away. The neighbors were always pleasant but there's a huge turnover.

We weren't offered any sort of compensation off rent for that month either, despite how friendly and accommodating Sarah had been at move in. When I say maintenance is terrible, I mean it would take at least a week for them to even come look at the problem most times so the other reviews saying they had their problems taken care of "rapidly" is laughable. Apartments.com actually listed that 2 dogs are allowed here when we moved in and that is not the case, they allow one dog up to 35 pounds, although we saw quite a few dogs who I'd guess challenged that 35 pound rule. Also saw quite a few people with 2 dogs. Although someone TOLD the office on me for having 2 small dogs. Yeah, full grown adults in this community tattled about other people. Every 2 months they would print out a "newsletter" that was essentially just bitching about what not to do. It even said on multiple occasions not to back into parking spaces because of fumes from cars but then would also complain about headlights shining into windows. I mean it was ridiculous. They would only issue 2 parking passes and if you had guests you were supposed to request a guest pass in advance, even though there were plenty of areas with MORE than enough space for guest cars! We had the misfortune of having upstairs neighbors who were constantly fighting, stomping, yelling. I had to call the police on them one time because it was so bad. This would be at all hours of the day or night, they had no consideration for neighbors at all. You could hear the woman yelling throughout the stair hallways all the time. They wouldn't allow us to do a month by month lease after our initial year was up, it was either 6 months or a year which was frustrating. Upon move out, on our deposit refund rundown there was an item saying we owed $45 in rent (along with a $2.25 late fee, which it wasn't but since there is a rent drop box, no way to prove it)- after a WEEK and two emails Sarah finally emailed me back claiming it was because we had to call maintenance because of our garbage disposal a month before we moved out. Like, really? Overall, if this place wasn't full of nosey neighbors with nothing better to do with their time and had a better maintenance staff it would have been an okay place to live. We loved our actual apartment and the space in it. But I wouldn't live here again had I known all this.
