After cracking tooth and another needing a root canal. I was seeking immediate pain relief as I was unable to eat, sleep, talk and even think clearly for two day. My wife calls a few dentists so I Went to the first dentist and they diagnosed the pain was coming from the tooth that needed a root canal. But after taking x rays and seeing I had two wisdom teeth exposed on my left side and two still under gums on right. They referred me to one of their specialists to get the wisdom teeth extracted first in two weeks. So they sent me off to deal with this excruciating pain till then. Needless to say my wife and myself were not ok with this. So made a few more calls and found Emergency Tooth Doctor. They got me in same day and they are the best place I've ever been to. Entering was just like every office but when talking with someone they were concerned about my pain and how I felt. When going over the options they provided, which did not include wisdom teeth coming out. They asked me what treatment I would prefer. I've never had any dentist ask that. They did give their recommendations to extract both but agreed that if both came out I'd have no molars on my left lower side. Made my decision and plan for root canal and 1 cracked tooth extraction. They got it done very quickly and thru the entire processed the asked if I was doing ok. This is the best dentist I've ever dealt with and will be back. even tho I don't live in this state I will make sure when coming back to Oregon for work to have appointments scheduled. read more

Great staff and doctors. I had a horrible toothache all weekend and wasn't able to eat (let alone function). They got me in the same day for an exam. I was able to get an appointment for the following day to get a root canal. Very professional and quality care. They take insurance so my cost was low. They have a couple of locations (Beaverton and Tigard) and different doctors that specialize on certain areas of your mouth. I would recommend them for sure, especially if an emergency situation as they are open 7 days a week. I called to make an appointment for my son who's been crying for a day about his tooth. We recently moved and haven't established a Dr yet. I called to get him in and they did for the next day. They call me 4 hours before his visit that they don't usually take kids. But sometimes make an exception. Then went on to tell me they don't usually take kids with disabilities or special. I replied with my son has disabilities and now what he can't come in and he's gonna have to cry. And the person the phone says unfortunately yes. I went in with less than 2 weeks left on my current dental insurance with a severe toothache. I knew my tooth could be saved before hand but I wanted an extraction before my insurance changes because I knew there was no guarantee that the tooth would be finished before the end of the year with below freezing weather forecasted. Enough rambling, the extraction (and I had a few prior to this) was the easiest I ever experienced. The dentist (didn't catch her name, shorter woman with dark hair) was gentle pulling it out. Once the lidocaine wore off I still wasn't feeling pain. Here I am well over 12 hours later and still no pain, which was my biggest goal, not taking pain meds. I highly recommend. read more

My father (69yrs old) recently got some work done at this location. My father went home and the next day felt like something was wrong. Later when the removal of the tooth healed, he felt a noticeable piece of bone left that he felt should not be there. This piece of bone that was left caused so much pain. My father went back and they tried to charge him again to get the piece out they left and did no properly take care of. I have been in healthcare for over 20 years and this is not the way to do business. Lack of quality of care. It was a "sharp" piece as found by the second doctor we went to for a second opinion and to complete the work. I don't recommend this place to anyone especially elder population that really needs to be taken care of. read more

My husband was in a lot of pain with his tooth. We called them early in the morning and scheduled him to be seen at 9am. They did xrays gave us the quote and extracted a tooth and was out by 1030a. He then needed a root canal done and they scheduled another same day appointment to get this done. They were quick and up front about the cost and accepted our insurance. I have seen the emergency tooth doctor Beaverton a couple times and the Hillsboro location once. I have struggled with several different dentist and oral surgeons to get answers on what is going on with my teeth. Every time I come here I finally get answers. I'm not just dismissed. I have struggled for a year and a half with one of my teeth. I was told it was nothing or it was just receding. Finally today the dentist took the time to assess my tooth. There was a cavity and now the root is dead. They also discovered I have an infection from a root canal that was done 3 months ago. Feels good to be heard and know what I need to do to improve my oral health, my overall health, and my mental health from the suffering of over use of antibiotics and dental trauma I've been experiencing since 2019. I went in today to have a fractured tooth extracted and the dentist literally told me he was not competent enough to do the extraction and that I had to wait through another painful weekend for the practice owner to do the work on Monday. In some ways I'm appreciative that he was at least honest, but I would not recommend having any work done by Dr. Yong Jin Song, who is self-admittedly not qualified to do his own job. Ill start with the good; got me in fast on same day. Dentist and assistant very nice and accommodating for my pain level. Gave me stiches as i told them i bleed alot and tend to get dry socket the stitches were very helpful. On the bad note; dentist took 3 hrs to pull tooth said had a hard time getting out. Meantime he stabbed the back of my throat several times with tools leaving my throat sore for weeks after. Also if you dont have insurance they charge thru the roof without payment plan options. Also i think he pulled the wrong tooth. he said needed my wisdom tooth out which wasnt giving me any problems and then after said (when had the money) come back and pull the one in front of it. read more

On the website, they say "with a range of services from pediatric dentistry to ...., we have the ability to solve any dental issue....in a courteous professional manner". However, they do not have pediatric dentists as opposed to what it advertises to the public. We called around 2 pm and they got us in around 4:20, the same day, which wasn't too bad. The doctor did the exam and x ray for my child and said she won't do the emergency care treatment for my child because she is not a pediatric dentist, referring us to pediatric dentists. We were there for urgent care "treatment" not just for the obvious exam and x ray. In addition, the doctor said the referred pediatrician wouldn't need to take another x ray because she already took it and it can be transferred. However, when I called the pediatric dentist, I was told that they would need to take a new x ray because it is their policy and etcetera, and the urgent treatment can't be the same day. If we had known there won't be an emergency treatment, and a referral would be necessary and repeated exam and x ray will be required, we wouldn't have taken our child there. They should take off the "pediatric dentistry" service in the website, which is obvious fraud. My experience from there was nothing but wasting of time and money. Thanks for your service! read more

Had my appointment on a Tuesday I was able to change it for a Sunday. The lady told me she couldn't look me up from my insurance but when I called the lady said she found it that my teeth cleaning would totally cover it and they accepted my insurance I get there I wasted $20 on Uber to get there $20 back home wasted $40 and getting nothing done. What a disappointment she could've told me that on the phone instead. I do not recommend it worst experience. read more

I highly recommend this place. I've been afraid to go to the dentist for so long and I had a lot of work to be done. They made me feel welcomed without any judgement. Unfriendly staff, expensive, and they don't guarantee poor workmanship their dentist performs. My son had work done and a cap put on his tooth. Within 9 months the cap fell off. When he called to get it fixed they said, "The dentist that worked on your your tooth no longer works here. We only guarantee the work for 6 months." Really!!! When he asked to speak to a manager, he was told they would call him back. The manger never called back, my son had to keep calling them, all the while suffering in pain from an uncapped tooth. ETD offered no compensation for the poor work performed by their dentist, no compassion, or any apologies. The office wanted my son to pay for the whole procedure again, and would only guarantee the work for 6 months. Ridiculous! I do not recommend this place read more

I have never done a review in my life and I hate that I have to even do this. My fiancee needed a tooth extracted. She had an infection so they prescribed her antibiotics to take before they could see her again. She comes in for her follow up appt and she gets a new doctor (Chang). He did not tell her she was going to have complications. He literally didn't speak to her at all. He was rough with her mouth and she said she felt like he was ripping her jaw off. He did not listen when she raised her arm when things got painful. He was shaky and unstable. He cut open her gums (not where they needed to be) and proceeded to leave her alone with a mouthful of blood unable to ask for help for at least 5 minutes. He then proceeded to start to stitch her mouth without her consent or telling her what he was even doing. When the surgery was done and she saw the tooth it was apparent there was not enough there to be her whole molar. A few days go by and she tells me over and over shes worried he messed up. That she felt like something was wrong. Three days in her blood clot falls out. We call and make an appointment for the next day. We go in and we see a different doctor. ( I was present for this appointment because I couldn't trust them) The first thing they asked us was "Was it difficult for him to get the tooth?" They saw right away that her root was still in her gums. Apparently your roots can grow in different directions and he decided to leave pieces behind. So we go in there thinking oh we will get some medicine to prevent infection but now I'm being sent to the oral surgeon down the street. They tell us they emailed our referral and to GO GRAB FOOD BEFORE we see the surgeon. (please keep that in order to get this root out she needs to be put under so she can't have any food 8 hours prior to) We get her some food and we are waiting for the surgeon to call for hours to get us in. We finally decided to go over there and they tell us they hadn't received any info. Mind you when we left no one had come in and we had an appt at 9am and were there until 11am. So now we have to pay an oral surgeon almost 1000$ for a surgery that we couldn't have even imagined needing to happen because this man refused to speak to her about what was going on. They said they could refund us the money for the 117$ procedure they did but that was it. I think they should have to foot our bill. I feel bamboozled. I do not have an extra 800$ laying around for this. This place is lazy and unorganized unprofessional and I would recommend you look elsewhere for care. I have never been treated so poorly. They didn't even prescribe her anything for her pain. She complained to the doctor and me a few times. Now she can't sleep because the pain is too much. We use to be loyal customers for 2 years and realized now we got cheated. Big fraud. They give you some more estimate and charge you double after the treatment. Recommend not to go there . I just went for a tooth cleaning as my insurance had that as a waivoff. I really don't know what dentist did. Sitting was just for 2 to 3 minutes. Then they gave us a big procedure and estimated list. As per estimation our next appointment was about 50$. We happily went and had our procedures done. To our shock they gave a bill of $185 saying deductables. Which they should have added in estimate. I think it is a big money making clinic. Never go there. But, if you have an emergency at 10pm on a Sunday night, I promise he will be the only one to be there to help with your pain. I woke up one morning to find a big ol' hunk of an old filling just... gone. I panicked. On my own with no insurance, I was having terrible visions of having to resort to Castaway-esque self-dentistry with ice skates. Fortunately, before I got too carried away, I hopped on the internet to search for answers. I eventually came across Emergency Tooth Doctor here on Yelp and saw that they were actually okay with us uninsured folks. I called in, they explained to me how to get set up with CareCredit, and I was in one of their (really comfortable) chairs the next morning. The ladies at the front desk were laid back but still super helpful, and my hygienist (Christy?) was pretty hilarious. Knowing my financial state, she and Dr. Tanada focused only on my broken filling and didn't rattle off a list of all the procedures I should probably get done. They were very understanding and gave me an affordable, if temporary, fix for my problem, and explained how to get a more permanent solution once I can afford it. I should also mention that this was the first time in about 12 years that I've been able to sit through a dental appointment without nitrous. I'm usually a wreck when I sit in the chair, but with these fine people, it was the best dental experience I've ever had. read more

So I am moving in a couple of days and I went to fix a chipped tooth two weeks prior to my move. I went in and got my filling. I found it really bizarre that my filling was stuck to it's neighboring teeth, so I couldn't even floss properly. 4-5 days later I woke up in the morning and found that the filling broke and that I had pieces of the filling in my mouth (and I am pregnant so what I eat this baby eats). I called and got another appointment (which was free of charge due to my filling completely coming out) for it to be fixed. So the filling is incredibly shorter than all my other teeth, to which I told them that it doesn't look fixed and the dentist decided to grind down my tooth next to it to look even and my top tooth. All my teeth have been in consistent pain since the appointment and super sensitive. he realized that I couldn't floss and broke off the pieces of the filling so that I can floss with an metal excavator. Now a part of that filling is breaking on the bottom of my teeth that wasn't broken originally is chipped and I still can't floss correctly. I feel like the dentist can't do a proper filling and I do not recommend this place. read more

For some tangential background, in 2006, my Emergency Tooth Doctor (or dentist), Loi Nguyen, participated in conducting "A study, published in The Journal of Neurochemistry, (which) identifies a key interaction between head and neck nerve cell proteins that may help shed light on migraines and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders". The article that I read referring to it said, "The finding could play a significant role in the development of therapies to cure migraines and other craniofacial pain conditions like TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder." For the record, I believe Loi told me that nervousness causes TMJ, rather than the other way around, although please don't quote me on that opinion. But aside from being borderline famous for important medical discoveries, Dr. Nguyen is a very conscientious dentist and a friendly fellow. I believe that if I was in college with him, we might have done our calculus homework together. He is a meticulous fellow who seemed to have a significant concern for the well being of my teeth. I feel I am lucky to have a dentist as skilled and professional as Loi. I would also like to compliment his assistants, Osiris and Priscilla, and others who I may have met but whose names I've unfortunately forgotten. It is easy to see that they know exactly what they are doing, and they work very well as a team with Dr. Nguyen. They are also quite pleasant people, and so I really hope they are compensated well for the very good work that they do. read more
