I wish there were negative star rating, one is to high of a rating. I should have walked out when I saw a TV in the lobby (Judge Judy nevertheless). First, don't trust them. I needed a full mouth set of dentures and extractions plus I was going also with implants. There general dentist saw me, did X-rays, showed me the X-rays and where he was going to place screws. I saw another doctor at a private practice and was told I would need to see an oral surgeon due having very compromised jaw bones due to years of Perio disease. So glad I saw someone else. As for more affordable, forget the line of BS. They quote you an astronomical amount and immediately give you a discount, which bring the price down to what all dentists would charge, you save nothing. Avoid this dentistry if you like your money. They claim to contact your insurer but don't and bill you upfront in order to be seen for a (covered) exam for example. They balance bill you for amounts above their contractual agreement with your insurer is a violation of contract. They do not inform you that certain procedures will/won't be covered and threaten months of wait time in order to proceed with a predetermination. They do not reply to emails and leave you hanging in an emergency. Instead of doing a basic exam, they bill you twice for a targeted (taking 30 seconds) and then a general exam which is double dipping--it doesn't matter if your benefits get exhausted. This place is a SCAM. First of all, I had dentist appointment back in July at an office that my mom was working at while I was visiting Utah. Everything at that visit had been done-- cleaning, pano/imaging-- it was all billed through my insurance. I've been desperately trying to get my wisdom teeth taken out, and Aspen was one of the only places that had any availability and took my insurance. I spoke to the receptionist, Kaylee, on the phone, who took my insurance and said she would DOUBLE CHECK for me that they actually took my insurance. The day of my appointment I check in and am told that everything has been run and is fine. The hygienists and dentist were incredibly rude and trying to upsell toothbrushes, another cleaning, told me my teeth were disgusting and that I needed braces to be beautiful, and then sent me on my way. They then had me talk to a billing specialist who revealed to me that the receptionist, KAYLEE, hadn't even ran my insurance yet, and that "because they couldn't find record on file" of me having my teeth cleaned and a pano done in July, that I would have to pay for the visit in full. Aspen's website advertises that if you're 21+ your first consultation is free if you've had a pano done within the last 6 months (which I'm 21, had visited the dentist 2 months prior, and was just trying to get established with a dentist in the area so I could meet with an oral surgeon for my teeth.) While getting impressions of my teeth, I asked that the extra material from the center of the mold be removed so it wouldn't be smooshed towards my uvula and choke me. The first woman refused. She shoved the mold into my mouth and choked me, making me throw up. When I complained that she should have listened to me, she TURNED HER BACK ON ME and pretended she couldn't hear me. She was also not competent enough to do the job correctly, because when I went back to pick up my impressions I found out they needed to take another set of impressions. The first ones were done wrong. The second woman was offended that I would dare be unsatisfied with them and was overtly rude to me. When I tried to address my concerns with her, she WALKED AWAY FROM ME IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SENTENCE! This is unconscionably rude. Their people are overly concerned with POWER. If they can't control you then they hate you. And they aren't shy about showing it, either. They will be nice until they are embarrassed by their mistakes, then they blame the customer. They won't listen to complaints - not even their office manager! I called to speak to her and she refused to accept the possibility that her friends had done anything wrong. This was the worst experience ever in my adult life at a dentist , first everyone was young and unexperienced . I had a tooth removed and they left part of it in my gums. I had a partial made and it took two months to get it and the employee lied to her manager about it. My family has bad experiences also and my wife was told to go to another dentist because she complained about her appointment for a repair of the tooth they previously fixed and they just wanted to x ray it and have her come back another day. Additonally, their financial person who seemed very unprofessional and explained my expense looking at a a wrong dental plan, and provided me with wrong information again even the right plan was found. I think that Aspen Dental has a policy of high pressure sales especially on the $2300. Deep cleaning In my case I had already had it done but despite that the sales were high pressure and well I don't trust these people they just don't tell it straight these people are way over due for a class action lawsuit the 2012 lawsuit only had 12 people but with 1000 current locations there has to be a minimum of 50,000 people who deserve money for unnecessary work done by Aspen! it kind of like Johnson and Johnson who knew there was as asbestos in the talk for 25 years but also knew the class action lawsuit would only pay out a small fraction of the profit! Aspen Dental has a dozen reviews that say there hygienist are dishonest on every google location but the class action suit will be less than. profits! Absolutely terrible. My mother in law called asking for x ray papers. She went out all the way to beaverton in person to go sign papers to release them to her. An entire week later she is still having to deal with processing those papers. They told her she had to wait 5-10 BUSINESS DAYS for a computer to send an email to a computer when she called asking why she hadn't received it. The woman was rude and unsympathetic. I came here because it was in my PPO network. After receiving X-rays I was moved to a chair where I assumed I'd be receiving a cleaning from the hygienist. The hygienist walks in and doesn't acknowledge me at all as she reminds the X-ray tech to go over some information with me. I thought "that was rude", then the X-ray tech suggests that I use this fancy Oral-B electric toothbrush before the dental hygienist cleans my teeth. I was confused, " isn't that why I'm here? For teeth cleaning?". I politely decline his suggestion and inform him that I already own an electric toothbrush and had brushed my teeth prior to my appointment. He then becomes demanding about using the toothbrush, suggesting that the hygienist will not perform the cleaning if I don't use the toothbrush. That's when I got out of my chair and declined the service. Unprofessional and rude. How dare a business take advantage of you when you are most vulnerable. And how dare you assume that I don't take care of my teeth as much as humanly possible. The only bright side to this was I was not charged for my X-rays. Just got a call from Aspen Dental trying to get me to schedule an appointment for my "treatment ". I have no insurance so went in a couple of months ago since they said free X-rays and a discount without insurance. I just needed my teeth cleaned and have very good oral care. X-rays showed no cavities and exam said minimal gum issues and I needed a cleaning not even a deep cleaning. When I meet with the office manager the cost was over $700.00. What a rip off that is an insane price for a teeth cleaning which should only be around $150. They should be ashamed trying to take advantage of the uninsured. read more

Not because the dentists or staff themselves are necessarily a problem, but because of the high focus on selling customers over-priced products and services they don't even need. Everything was going great until the manager pulled me into his office to have a chat about my treatment plan, which included a price tag of 4,000$! I made it a point to mention that I'd come in for an already known condition, and that the previous dentist gave me an estimate that was literally a fraction of what Aspen was trying to charge me. This was without insurance people, so me now having double coverage should have negated any cost. I became suspicious and searched for information on Aspen, only to find that they have hundreds of complaints from burned customers! Despite being lucky enough to not have my folly cost me thousands, I still got billed for advertised free services and procedures covered 100% by my insurance company. The cleaning also felt more like a Guantanamo torture technique, and the 20-second oral cancer screening could have been done by anyone with internet access. Being excessively billed for such shoddy work adds even more insult to injury! Be very aware of your bill! Aspen gave me a quote of $2200 for 2 crowns and to remove a tooth. I had the 2 crowns done and the bill came to $4600 dollars. I had not even had the tooth extracted. I brought it to their attention and they told me that is just what I had to pay. I was using Dental First financing and Aspen put the entire amount on this card. I asked for the paperwork to back their bill and they had add my two kids to my bill because they were having trouble with my X wives insurance. They told me it was not their responsibility to check the insurance before doing the work, as we all know that was wrong. I asked how they got it onto my card and please show me the signatures. After 2 wax try ins, the dentist told me they weren't going to do anything further for me so basically, take 'em or leave 'em. She was arguing with me while I was pointing out what could be fixed to make them right. I have worn dentures for over 30 years and have been through the process many times. The office feels dirty and has a very sketchy vibe. They shuffle you back and forth between staff so frequently it feels like you are on an assembly line. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Let me state my case. I had a tooth extracted two weeks ago. They took X-rays and the dentist went over it with me. He told me I needed the tooth extracted and then I had two options, do a bridge or a partial denture. He said the third option is for an implant. He spent time pushing for the first two options because he said he can do those. In the the meantime, he suggested I get a temporary partial dental to wear. Because I was in such great pain I had I want the tooth out and went with temporary partial denture. They walked me over to finance office and went through the cost of the procedure. They spent a lot of time answering my questions. The dentist assured he will take great care of me. I came back two days later. The dental assistant said they forgot to take an impression of my mouth the last time I was in for the temp partial. She said I will need to wait around for an hour after my extraction for the temp partial. The extraction went well except the dentist failed to do two very important steps. As he was walking away, I asked why he didn't clean or flush the area. I also asked why he didn't close the exposed area. He stated he did clean the area but I must not notice. Then said he didn't closed the area because it is better to have it naturally healed. I asked him why he didn't give antibiotics or pain meds. He said I wouldn't need any. I had to wait around for my temp partial. I was called back in and it was the dental assistant that showed me how to use it and clean it. The dentist didn't even come back in to check on the extraction point. Two weeks later, I had to go see another dentist because I had an odd taste in my mouth. With X-rays, this new dentist found decayed root canal. She took care of the tooth. The dentist stated the other area should have been sutured up and antibiotics should have been taken to prevent infection. The odd taste in my mouth is from the draining of my sinus trying to heal but now infected. She requested my X-rays and was told it will take two days to get them. She said they only took one X-ray and not the full mouth like what they told me they did. The dentist sewed me up and sent me home with antibiotics and pain med. She was quite upset with Aspen that she didn't charge me. Aspen Dental were quick take my money and quick to pushed me out the door after the procedure was done. Don't go here :( I choose Aspen because I needed my wisdom teeth removed as well as have a check up (since I hadn't seen the dentist in a few years). I honestly thought all went well during my initial appointment and was pleasantly surprised by their professionalism. I ended up getting my wisdom teeth extracted elsewhere due to the close proximity of the root and my jaw nerve but went ahead and scheduled my cavities to be taken care of. My dentist was quick to fill the cavities but on in particular fell out within a week. I went back to have it refilled and they did so without charge. About two weeks later - it fell out AGAIN. I thought "what the heck"?! I am not new to cavities, and have never had any fall out - let alone twice. So I had it refilled a second time and hoped it would stay in place. I saw a new dentist and she told me "the first dentist did not fill this cavity correctly for it to stay in place"...great. A week later...I started getting pain in the area. I went back in and asked them to see if it had fallen out a third time, so they took an x-ray and said it was in place - that the pain I was feeling was due to the grinding of my teeth. I have NEVER been a grinder and thought it odd that they told me to chew on the other side of my mouth until the pain subsided. Well...months later I finally had enough and went to Waterhouse Dental instead. My first initial visit went like this: Your old cavities are wearing down and have gaps, you have one fractured tooth (WHERE MY PAIN WAS COMING FROM), and the cavities I had filled at Aspen were sloppy and too much product was used. WOW. How did Aspen not see any of this during my visits with them?? Pictures were taken to show me what they were looking at inside my mouth and I was honestly horrifies to see how many holes were in my past fillings along with the ones they had filled. It seems they are quick to want to fill cavities (sloppily) without checking in on other aspects of your teeth. I quickly cancelled any returning visits with Aspen and will not be back. Their staff is friendly and I really appreciated all the help from the front desk ladies, but ultimately I wasted enough time and money at Aspen getting work done that was both mediocre and not complete. read more

From the waiting to the treatment , to the rude pushy guy with the ever fluctuating estimate . They have no specialists on site , and a lot of " i don't know " from the dentist. I called to book a cleaning because I have moved and need a new dentist . Good news! They have weekend appointments! Well I get here this morning and guess what? They don't do cleanings in the weekends. Because I am a new patient the call center only booked me for an exam (WITHOUT telling me), even though I called them to book a cleaning. Amanda did a great job explaining to me exactly what was going on with my gums. Dr. Shah was extremely kind and made sure all of my questions were answered, and Lucy was a fantastic help as far as figuring out what to do after today's check up. But they failed to acquire the proper documentation from previous dental visits with my old dentist, it didn't care, so my dental provider will not cover the 597 dollars extra. I don't know if I came in on a bad day (2 days in a row) or what, but the dentist I dealt with was rude and condescending. Dr Mobai barely spent two minutes in the room with me at a time, and I don't think she said more than five sentences to me. The whole ordeal felt rushed and like they just wanted to get me out. After numbing me, she went in with some sort of chisel like tool to pry my tooth out and when I said it hurt still, she shot some more novacain into my gums. BUT THEN DECIDED TO GO RIGHT BACK IN AND CONTINUE. When I complained that it still hurt (2 seconds after she injected me) she made some smart comment about how she would inject a little more and wait five minutes to see how that went, but it was a little ridiculous that she had to keep injecting me. Then said I might have to come back! So I sat through it, still not totally numb, so I didn't have to come back to that place. Everyone else in the office was friendly and welcoming except for that woman. I will NEVER be going back. Horrible dentist. I arrived for my appointment and after I had filled out my paperwork, it took them over an hour to get my exam started. While waiting, I heard the conversations between the receptionist and the customers over the phone. Over the course of that hour, she had received at least 6 phone calls of unhappy customers about their unexplained charges. By this point, I should have left and saved myself my time. The x Ray process seemed dirty and the nurse didn't seem to care about how uncomfortable I was. She was shoving the x Ray thing into my mouth and I nearly lost my lunch. Now the exam room also felt dirty and looked horribly ugly. I felt extremely nervous at this point. I was told I had cavities and that was on the verge of gingivitis and if I didn't get this expensive clean soon then my teeth would fall out. I'm 21 and I brush my teeth on a regular basis. How could I lose my teeth in a matter of weeks? Anyways, the total time I spent at the dentist was almost 2.5 hours and They didn't even clean my teeth... A couple weeks later, I went to a new dentist and found out I had NO cavities and there was no mention of my teeth falling out. Aspen was trying to scam me out of money. I have been to this dental office before for an emergency filling where I was scheduled and seen right away. HOWEVER, this week I have had a lot of gum bleeding and pain. I tried to book an appointment for this upcoming Friday online and there were a lot of slots open. However, it didn't work for some reason and so I called the dental office to schedule an appointment. I was put on hold for ten minutes and then the receptionist tells me the earliest appointment is August 1st! My gums are bleeding and in a lot of pain. I tell her about the online appointment scheduling and she says "Those are reserved for new patients ONLY." Which does not make any sense because I am in extreme pain and I have already been to this office and gave them a lot of MONEY ($460) for my filling. So the least they can do is see me asap. Recently moved to the Beaverton area and was looking for a dentist. Thought we'd try the aspen dental off town center as it appeared to be nice. My brother and I are covered under the same insurance and went in at the same time. After x rays and speaking with the dentist. They advised deep cleanings for both of us. No cavities no craziness going on with either of our teeth. However, the deep cleans cost almost $500 out of pocket. I called back to ask can we just get the standard cleaning covered by insurance. I was promptly told that I was trying to Cheat the system and that they go by different laws and regulations. I don't know what that means. I was also told I could go somewhere else, which I plan on doing. Just a heads for others. Horrible experience for me and my brother. It seems they are out there to gain money. They tried to sell me a tooth brush "Yeah, we just include the tooth brush for you", but when I declined the price for service dropped $150 or something. They canceled my cleaning appointment 3 times. When I called in to schedule an appointment the kid said we can do this date so i agreed then he changed it 3 times before i actually was setup. When I came in for the cleaning I think the dentist was an intern and maybe 80% of knowledge she needed to perform her job. She sprayed my face with water couple times.
