i love this place! been going here for years just now getting around to writing a review. They have a great selection of cigars and pipe tobacco and the staff is friendly and helpful without being overbearing. They've also got some good deals going on now. My husband and I both love cigars but recently he's taken to pipe smoking. They have great options as far as flavors. The staff is very knowledgeable and recommended a few options to blend together for a custom smoke. We purchased several different 1oz baggies of tabaccos, some smoke shops do not sell smaller amounts. They also have some nice humidors, ashtrays, cutters, lighters and other fun tobacco related accessories. There's a small seating area with a tv and some comfy leather chairs for a quick smoke and maybe a chat. If you like a good smoke check them out. read more

Cool cigar shop in Coliseum area of Hampton. Was here for daughter's Boo Williams tournament and came over two days (may go back tomorrow too before flight). Bryan was super helpful and they have a great selection in a pretty large humidor. The lounge area is small, 4 chairs and a high top that can probably sit another 3-4. Met some really cool ex-military gentlemen and enjoyed watching the game on TV. Seems like a lot of regulars frequent the place. Minor complaint? No torches for use, they give you matches which I typically avoid if I can so bring your own. read more

Visiting Hampton VA for the Jazz Legacy Foundation Decade of Excellence concert. Stopped by Emerson's Cigars for a few cigars. Pricing is great and wide variety of cigars. Great filtration system. Does not smell like smoke. Customer service is outstanding. Very knowledgeable about cigars and great recommendations. Signed up for the reward program. On line ordering available. This place is AWESOME! They have tons of delicious cigars and a staff that is very knowledgable. You can smoke there inside the store and watch TV in some comfortable leather smoking chairs. They have humidor's, pipes, tobaccos, pipe tools. They have events, an app, WI-FI EVERYthing. I could live in the place and will be back. OH AND THE PRICES ARE GREAT! I'll go in to get five rocky Patel's for $28 which isn't a bad deal but because they put in a new system for their check out they have zero discounts on anything. This is unacceptable! If you put in a new system they make sure that everything is in there that needs to be as far as discounts and using your reward points!! Not to mention I had purchased one of their lighters which had to be sent back two times and it literally took eight months. Unacceptable! This visit totally unhappy. read more

If you like salesman asking if you need help multiple times in 5 minutes (felt like a used car dealership) and enjoy being harassed this is your spot. I have spent a lot of money here and my visit on Friday 29jun18 has me ready to cash in my reward points and never shopping there again. If you want to feel like a criminal shop here. Popped in here w/ some co-workers after lunch at Jimmy John's across the street to grab some cigars to smoke on the patio of Park Lane Tavern just around the corner. In fact, Park Lane Tavern and Emerson Cigars routinely have co-sponsored events at both establishments so yay for inter-business relations. The manager himself came into the walk in humidor room to help us. He was super helpful w/o being pushy to any one brand or type. The rest of the people in my party are connoisseurs and I am a cigar newbie but the manager would always yield to my friends out of respect. There was very little ego all around which I appreciated. I have no idea how competitive their prices are since it's borderline boutique. They have a lounge w/ nice giant recliner chairs and a TV so you can smoke inside. They also have one small table w/ like 4 chairs just outside the store front so you can smoke there too but it's really too small. Most people go around the corner to Park Lane's patio. One of the guy's in my party also bought a very classy, handsome cigar holder from their impressive selection of accessories under the glass counter register point of sale area. read more

Came here while visiting family. Small place with 4 chairs, high top table with 4 chairs, one tv, wide variety of smokes. The price is right. I am purchasing five quality smokes for a good price. They have some accessories and pipes. Very clean and very cool. The cigars are nice and fresh. Staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. It was a great visit overall. read more

I love this place. Best selection of cigars I've seen outside of J&R in North Carolina (but they're an online and catalog seller as well). Friendly and knowledgeable staff that has recommended a couple new cigars to me that have become favorites. The lounge is a little short on seating, but the seating they do have is comfy, and the conversation always great. Free wifi and an HDTV to boot. Great place to come and spend an hour or two. read more

Okay, I don't really smoke but I could honestly appreciate this place for what it is worth. Once in a blue moon I will have a cigar ( like once a year) and it is usually from here on those long late nights out in town. I have a couple of buddies who you can say are cigar affectionados and newbies like myself. Compared to the cigar/tobacco shops in NN/York County this place is definitely the top contender. The inside is clean and doesn't have an old smoke smell to it. It's well lit and doing have that sketchy feel to it like others in the area. Theres a great slection of fine cigars and your standard fair. The inside lounge area looks comfty and I can see myself relaxing here without it being a hassle. As soon as I've came in the mutplie times I've been I am greeted but not bothered. You can broswe freely without someone getting suspicious. There is outdoor deating but it's small and kinda awkward if you go in a big group. Overall, this place is nice. The staff is helpful and will cut and light your cigars as well as give you some good recommendation. I can see me going back here with friends who enjoy a nice cigar in a safe environment, but definitely not a place I would venture off and make a habit since I really can't stand the smell of any kind of smoke. The employee dinamic has changed and with it the hmmm I don't know respect has. At least for me. On one occasion I go in and talk to (I'll call him) Mr. J. Hello Mr. J I'm looking for a new everyday smoke do you have any suggestions. His reply how many do you smoke on a weekly bases. ( hmm that's odd I said daily) I go, one or two a day and his jaw literally drops, eyes widen, and he looks me up and down. Mr. J is that a lot? ( I'm literally fearful of my health at this point) His reply is I would not expect that from you. Oh that's interesting Mr. J since I know you by name and I am here every week or twice a week. I mean I did just call you and two others by name, and asked about the wellness of another that no longer works here. Hmmm odd Part 2 Good morning Mr. Davidoff. Good morning. I go in get what I want come out to checkout with a few questions. I guess because I had a question that meant to let all the customers behind me go ahead of me. Do you have this? How much is it? Naw no thank you. Sir with are going to put your stuff on hold and let these people go. Now I stand and wait as he rings them up. Have you guys found everything okay. I wait until they leave and ask, Could they not wait? Was that to long? What if they had a question of pricing? He says nothing. Oddly, enough whenever there are a different group of people waiting when I have a few questions they have to wait. I have more and from different Emerson locations. I have to say I am shopping around for somewhere else to go. I just don't have the time or patience to go through the employees to find out which of them do not have these negative attributes resonating. I feel that the cigar experience should not be rushed. That the tobacconist should be diverse in their field because they love it not just because it is trending. A customer is a customer their appearance means nothing as long as their money spends and they are respectful. It's to the point that when I go to these places I have to reverse it and riddle them to see if they belong. So Sir, who would you say makes the best cigar box? His reply Camacho. That is a good box. I find myself stacking them up to Upmann myself. His reply why would you stack them to Upmann? I walk away. read more
