Awful, unless you find being treated like a child acceptable. You are not permitted to make an appointment without providing proof of an order from the doctor. I have an order in hand from my physician for a routine mammogram. I have been to Emery several times in the past for the same procedure without issue, but a new policy does not allow me to make an appointment without bringing my order to them (wasted trip), sending it via email (not secure in my opinion), or having my doctor contact them (waste of doctor's time). Asked to speak with someone higher to explain my thoughts on this and the office manager informed me that she could not change this procedure and while she did not make the policy she would be sure it was enforced. I am not a child and know how to read a simple order and verify the information on it, should they ask, and in fact read it to her. DON'T use this facility for your imaging needs, there are other options in the area that trust you as an adult to make an appointment. read more

I appreciate you for being patient with me and my mom during my X-rays. The doctors inside also were very nice and patient with me while I took my X-rays. Buckle up, folks. I went in for a diagnostic mammogram and an ultrasound for a lump in my breast that had been confirmed was there years prior. Barbara, the wonderful lady who did my mammogram is probably the only good thing this place has to offer. She was an absolute delight and her butterfly filled room and positive attitude were a breath of fresh air. As for the ultrasound, the tech did a poor job and did not capture the lump that has already been confirmed even after i told her the general area that it was in. Literally pointed at it. The tech failed or refused to do more than their normal trained screening area. I left feeling like I was crazy and my declining symptoms now had an even darker cloud of fear and mystery around them. I called them again telling them that i wasn't comfortable accepting that it simply disappeared when my symptoms had been progressively getting worse and worse. A front desk representative, Diana, told me that after contacting the billing department that they'd be willing to re-do the ultrasound free of charge due to their error. I was like, okay sweet thank you. Later, Diana called me back and told me that I needed to get another authorization from my doctor because they couldn't do it without it.. Okay, got the authorization, sent it over and waited again. Another call came in from Diana and she then went back on her initial word stating that the procedure would now cost me. I argued that was not what was initially agreed upon and that I'd go elsewhere to get it done at a more reliable place. She then offered a 50% adjustment for the procedure after checking with billing. Still absolutely ridiculous that I have to pay for THEIR error. On top of all of this? According to my gyno, they're not in the Orlando Health network system. So none of the images that they took could be sent to my doctors despite sending a signed medical record release form?? My appointment was scheduled for 7:30a, they advised me to arrive at 7:15a. I arrive at 7:15a and had to stand outside in the Florida humidity and heat for 10 minutes as the receptionist sat inside watching me. It wasn't until one of their medical vendors arrived that the receptionist decided to finally open the door. When the receptionist opened the door.. no good morning and no apology. Once in the office I was hit with the smell of the cheapest cleaning fumes (fabulouso), which is not a disinfectant. I immediately got a migraine and felt sick to my stomach... not to mention that the reason for my visit is due to constant nausea and dizziness... that smell definitely didn't help. My first visit to this establishment, I picked them because they did X-rays (which I needed), took my insurance, were close to my house, and offered a variety of other services I may need in the future. I called a week prior and had no problem setting up a 10:45am appointment on a Monday, receptionist was very nice and helpful. That's the end of my positive review. I showed up 15 min early to do my paperwork, as I was a new patient and knew there'd be extra. Surprisingly, it was mostly just signatures, so that was taken care of quickly. Then the waiting began. I was in the waiting room for 45 minutes, I watched several people that were there before and after me come and go. Finally, I spoke up and asked what the deal was, to which they replied "Oh, the guy ahead of you had a lot of tests to have done". There were multiple techs and I was just there for a simple pre-op clearance chest xray, so unless this other patient needed every bone in his body xrayed and all the other patients were there for other tests, I call shenanigans. I sat down and waited some more, finally around the 1 hour 20 minute mark I was the only person left in the waiting room and the receptionist called me! ...to tell me that they were still finishing up with the other guy and I'd be called in a few minutes. When I finally got called back I was in there barely 10 minutes (although it took the guy forever to decide how he wanted me positioned, and then after my 2 x-rays were taken he had to get another guy in to verify that they looked right). I was never given an apology or thanked for waiting...the tech didn't even acknowledge that I just waited over an hour and a half (not sure if he knew, but still). As I left, I gave them one last opportunity to acknowledge my long wait when I asked if they were sending the films directly to my doc. They answered my question but that was it. Not a shred of concern that they made a patient with an appointment wait over an hour and a half when some walk-ins had come and gone within 20 minutes. I understand that some patients can take longer than others, but to not tell me that they're running behind on my appointment until I call their attention to me is just absurd. And not even an apology! The people there were mildly friendly, the receptionist didn't seem to care at all nor did she show any initiative to get me an estimated time of service or ask if I'd like to reschedule. I'm lucky I work on my own time schedule or I would've probably been in trouble with work. I was at the Emery Medical Solutions in Apopka. First of all very hard to get in parking lot. Very hard to find. When you walk in they do not greet that well. You do everything on line and you then tell them can you please help me. After all of that I was the 8A.M. appointment. I waited for 45 minutes and still no tech. I was on time for my appointment. Its says on the business card they give you that I made my appointment there is a $25.00 charge for not showing. They owe me $25.00 for making me late for my job. That is why I book first person in the morning. I do not understand why the do not book for what is the correct time for each patient time. The technician attempted the procedure (evidently in training) another individual came in and redid the first x-ray. I didn't receive any perks for practice participation. I received a call from Emery Medical Solutions to schedule the appointment, but I did not have my calendar in front of me and I said that I would have to call them back to figure out a convenient time. We had just moved, I broke my finger, and was going on two out of state trips so things were hectic for me and I did not call her back... Imagine my surprise when I received a package of paperwork in the mail on 9/7 that stated that I had an appointment on 9/8 and that if I did not provide at least 48 hours notice I would be charged a $250 fee! (Since I received the paperwork less than 24 hours prior to the appointment providing 48 hours was impossible.) I called there first thing on 9/8 and asked to speak to the facility manager. I spoke with Amy who stated that she arbitrarily assigns people appointments "to get them to call back". I consider this bullying and manipulative. In addition, the package I received had the mailing label upside down, was mailed to the wrong address, and the top half of the included map and directions page was cut off...If someone can't put together a simple package of information in a professional way am I really going to trust them to conduct quality medical tests?!? After 20 years of watching my husband gasp for air at night and fall asleep in the middle of sentences during the day when he doesn't wear his bipap at night, they told him that instead of doing the test to manage his settings on his machine that they needed to establish that he had sleep apnea . The test results they sent the MD said no apnea. Translation......We need to pay another $100 out of pocket up front for a more detailed study . Shame on greedy businesses. I was there in the room listening to him stop breathing and gasp for air. Between 11p and 12a was the worst. The front office staff needs classes in customer service, there is no greeting from the staff; shouting out of names; no explanations of what is taking place etc. Just sit and wait! The outrage for me was the fact that the ultrasound technician was wearing street clothing, no gown or cover, while conducting the tests ESPECIALLY during this Covid-19 pandemic. I have never visited an office where 2 staff members were sharing a room, so that while my testing was being done, another staff member was sitting in the room. They outsourced their billing they keep sending a bill to collections that I don't owe they cannot send me an itemized bill so I can verify with my insurance company my insurance company sees no claim on the date they say there was services now I am being harassed like a criminal from a collection agency that they hired. It turns out that that same company does the billing. It's in their best interests to make mistakes the latent charge for collection. It is a small amount that I owe them what is the principle I am night and give them money for doing no work. They think just because they are a medical company that's taking a bill for services and destroy your credit. Wish I can find an attorney to take this for a small amount money. My insurance company shows no claims that matches the amount that they're trying to collect nor does it show any type of deductible for that amount the office won't work with you only the billing/collection agency. read more

Every time you have to sit and wait they over book appts with no regard to your time

I am a PET/CT tech, I also do CT and X-ray. I think Emery is exceptional. I have worked in many out patient facilities so I recognize professionalism. From the very start, i was scheduled quickly for my CT. The technologist Roomy was very professional and efficient. My second time I walked in for a foot x-ray, within a few minuted my authorization was completed. The front office staff are great. I speak from experience, I worked for the competition and their staff was clueless. I actually called the competitor and the office staff acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. I just needed the price on an abdomen/pelvis with and without contrast. After such a bad start I called Emery. They were so professional within minutes I had the price for the exam (at the time I didn't have insurance) and was scheduled for the exam. Since then I have talked to friends and they are also happy with Emery. I know I will go there for all of my imaging. Good job guys! read more
