Other than initially informing me that appearing in court was an option, he rarely followed up on anything proactively. I had to initiate contact every time by emailing him with questions. Shockingly, he even got the court date wrong. He first told me the hearing was scheduled for a Monday. When I asked if other dates were available, he said court only happens on Wednesdays. I pointed out that the current date was a Monday, and only then did he admit he made a mistake. The worst part? On the day of the hearing, he told me he might attend via Zoom. In the end, he neither showed up in person nor joined the Zoom meeting. After the hearing ended, I emailed him asking where he was--he replied saying he was stuck in traffic and would be there in about five minutes. I told him the hearing was already over. After that, he completely stopped responding. No apology, no explanation--just silence. Once again, I absolutely do NOT recommend this lawyer.

I would not recommend hiring or retaining Mr. Michael Brodsky to settle legal needs. After paying…read morewhat I feel is a rather large flat-fee retainer, I sensed a change of tone from Mr. Brodsky- immediately after payment, sitting in his office, I did not feel he was in my corner and perhaps just the opposite. Smug. As if he already knew my "kind." I never went back to his office, opted to do everything online or over the phone: my questions seemed to be irritating to him and he was unresponsive at times. There was mention of a downside to my "appearance." I felt that my case was not important to him. He stressed the seriousness and importance of other cases and postponed mine in favor of others. I assume we all paid the same "flat-fee." He brushed off my concerns about my own safety and said any acknowledgement of it would be damaging to my credibility and so it should not be addressed at all. At least twice there were serious inaccuracies I had to clear up about court process because he gave me inaccurate information. I felt the amount of time and quality of effort he put in was not close to justifying the retainer paid. Responses were slow and sometimes non-existent. While speaking to him about an email I'd sent shortly before our conversation, I realized he hadn't even read the email so I had to reiterate it. Communication relayed from and about the court was inconsistent. Negligent. His office said one thing and did another which dragged the case into indefinite territory. Ultimately, I felt obliged to try to contact the other side myself in order to finalize the case. It was only at that time Mr. Brodsky took action. I felt that Mr. Brodsky wasted a lot of my time- and money- with no acknowledgement and even irritated defensiveness. I am a woman of color and I would not recommend retaining the services of Mr. Michael Brodsky, whose office is currently in Bellingham, WA.

After delaying my court date, I had randomly received a phone call alerting me that I have a mandatory court appearance the next morning, them being completely oblivious to the fact that I had already mentioned that I cannot make it due to living on the other side of the state. When I appeared via zoom call last minute, the judge on the case tore into Tom Dunn, my representative, for failing to provide any signed documents stating I approved of the zoom appearance, as well as failing to provide evidence of my completed traffic course of which I sent evidence to weeks in advance. After court, I wasn't given any instruction to the process of paying the fines and was ignored by Elizabeth Fish and Tom Dunn when I sent countless emails asking about the payment process. Elizabeth Fish had a horrible attitude when she wasn't ignoring my emails or phone calls, and I still haven't heard anything from Tom Dunn. When requesting for some sort of reimbursement for their lack of effort, I was met with a email telling me that it wasn't possible, and that basically my thousands of dollars had gone down the drain.
