I went this week and had my Keratin treatment done for the 1st time since I live in Georgia. I moved here in Sept 2021 from Fla! My hairdresser in Fla, who was like family, didn't charge me an arm an a leg for all the services she did for me and my mom. Here in Alpharetta and Roswell area the starting price for ONE ounce of Keratin is approx. $220.00 or more, outrageous! In Florida I paid for my mom's color, haircut, and set; for my keratin, color, highlights, trim or cut and set about $250.00 total, for both!!!! I was going nuts thinking how am I going to pay for all of the stuff I do to my hair? It will cost me over $500.00. I was almost in tears! Anyhow, I was getting my nails done at D-Nails one day, Shea did them (she is awesome, I recommend her 100%) and told her my ordeal, she recommended her beauty school,,,yep,,,her beauty school,,,Empire Beauty School on Pleasant Hill Rd in Lawrenceville. I called, made an appointment, got there and Ms. Laurelay did my Keratin and trimmed my hair for $61.00 total!!! YESSSSSSS!!!!! The school is beautiful, clean, the service is excellent, the girls (students) are allllll very friendly, the instructor walks around supervising everyone's work and my hairdresser did my keratin to perfection!!! The worst customer service ever!!!!! I usually go to the one near perimeter and they always do excellent work and you don't wait all day! Maybe because the location is in a better area they treat their customers better. At Pleasant Hill location they lie about waiting times and when you are waiting you will see stylist literally sitting around just chilling. I was forced by circumstance to go here after my girl was closed last week. I went in and this school was packed! I waited about 30 minutes-45 to get seen. So finally I went back and I am always leery of schools for the simple fact that my hair is natural and a lot of people can't handle my hair...and some students may be just starting...ewwww the thought. This girl however handled my hair well and used very good products that made my super thick hair manageable. I didn't like the style of may hair but she made it super straight...plus++ and super clean+++ and I knew once I wrapped it it would look fine in the morning. I was somewhat nervous to get my hair done at a beauty school. Since my hair is natural, I figured there wasn't much harm they could do. I was very pleasantly surprised by the customer service and work done. For $8 I received a normal wash with deep conditioner. The stylist dried and flat ironed my hair. It lasted almost two weeks. My hair is curl pattern 4a. Next time I will get a twist out. I think they charge $10 for that service,much better than my normal $60-$70. read more

Their prices are really good and the stylist that I had are lovely. They give you what you want when you want it. Even though they are a school, the students are very professional and know what they are doing. When they are not sure, they will ask for assistance from their supervisors. This is the most unprofessional school ever. The instructors have poor public speaking skills (slang). The lack of communication is plain out ridiculous. If I'm spending $20,000 on a program to learn things that are supposed to prepare me for my future profession, I at least want to learn thise skills.They want to stand in front of classes and make speeches as if they're talking to 12 year olds. Yet, you don't even know how to use your nouns, verbs, adjectives etc properly. I can't take you all seriously. Maybe you should go back to school and take some English classes because hair school didn't teach you any of that read more

The wait here is RIDICULOUS! I bring my daughter here to get her ends trimmed & they are the slowest around! It's a great place to come for the basics ( trim, wash & set, pedicure, or to have your hair straightened), but come prepared. Aside from being time consuming, the students are polite & eager to take care of one's hair. They get the job done & the prices can't be beat. read more

I was the first person to sign in at the 9am time that they start taking walk ins and literally wasn't seen until an hour later at 10am. When asking an instructor what the hold up was, I was told that the students and other instructors were having a "POW wow". If it takes an hour for a pow wow/meeting you should begin that at 8am so your clients don't have to wait!!!!! They had no regard or respect for my time and did not seem to care nor did any one ever come out to apologize, except for the student that did my hair. I don't blame the students, I blame the instructors!!! I'd tell anyone, DO NOT COME HERE AS A CLIENT AND ESPECIALLY NOT AS A STUDENT. I took my 13 year old there for a wash, blow dry, and flat iron. The student that did her hair had it looking great and I was extremely pleased...until I found out my daughter had 2 huge 2nd degree burns in her scalp. I took her to a professional salon about a week later and the LICENSED cosmetologist could not figure out how she could have gotten the flat iron or the blow dryer that close for that long to burn my daughter that bad. We will NEVER return. read more

Poor customer service. I have been calling to find out when the students provide services. They rarely answer the phone. When they finally did, I asked what times do your students service clients? The lady says "we're done for the day, ma'am. We're closed." and then hung up on me mid sentence without even giving me the hours of service. This is my second poor service experience at schools.
